Notes from the arena champ.
Yes, my name is Extrusion. I think I arrived on the scene because The Boss's
first real job in industry was as a Co Op Engineer for Crescent Plastics.
Thermoplastic extrusion it was. Pipe from ABS, breaker strips for refrigerators and
light fixtures from styrene. I hear he liked to go to the Engineering Lab and make
the glue to hold/glue end caps on the light strips. You know, add some styrene
pellets, some MEK, stir it up, sniff the air etc.
Those were the days, he tells us. He used to design and draw tooling for the
extruders. Yes, draw. On a drafting board. With a 2H pencil. And rubber erasers.
Making sepia and blueprint copies. (Nice sniffer smell at the blueprint machine,
too.) No CAD. No computers, actually. Well, there was one very large one, in a
special conditioned room, that only computer techs could access. A big room, appx 10
ft by 20 ft housed only the computer. And no e mail? Get outta here!
Hey, and typewriters were the thing. There were even erasable typewriters then.
No word processing. No computers, remember. The boss typed most of his own stuff,
but sometimes he liked going over to the office pool to get something typed. He
didn't explain his reasoning for that.
Those were the good old days, he says?

SPY REPORT

and despair! LIFE IMPACTS had cause to celebrate, after C.H.S. got 16 points by
beating PETRA QUORD. Win some, lose some. Speaking of which, C.H.S. was winsome,
after beating PETRA QUORD and seeing her lose 13 points. Now I can't insult RUBBER
DUCKIE, as it has gloriously dueled to the top. Oh great new Duelmaster!!! (Stop me
if I lay it on too thick) So who's the team that's been walking into taverns last
week and ordering milk? Sounds like a PR stunt to me.
A Zenmaster once told me, 'Does not the spinning wheel turn? And do not the
little birds cry out?' Any ideas? Perhaps the warriors of MIDDLE WAY 6 should take
up some hobbies, as they are the most avoided team... Like a pup with its tail
between its legs, DREAMS OF KADATH scurried away from MIDDLE WAY 6. Oh, the shame!
If challenges were horses, GOBERT HINNY could open up a fast food joint! Call 'im
brash! Call 'im brassy! Call 'im brave! Call 'im sassy! CANTEX will face EVALON
ELKHORN, up by 33. Aaaah, just call 'im dead meat. Fixed fights? Paybacks? Blind
luck? Whatever, CANTEX challenged EVALON ELKHORN, CANTEX the underdog by 33 points.
Ah, the duel! The roar of the oppenent, the smell of the crowd! Ask not for
whom the sword slashes; it slashes for thee.
Do not think spyreporting in SNOWBOUND is the highlight of my life. As if
buffeted by forces of nature beyond my control, I must take my leave of this place.
