Notes from the arena champ.
"We'll be true to the school that we loved so well "....
Yep, good old Cannelton High School and those Bulldogs. Some great years they
were from 1959 through 1963.
Eighty-one started in the Freshman class with 42 graduating. Not bad at all for
what was then the "impoverished county" in Indiana. Pretty intimidating for us eight
kids going to the "big" public school after a secluded life in the Catholic grade
school. All eight of us graduated high school, though.
The three-storied school, having been added on, and the band room/cafeteria,
with classes above, still stand today. So does the high school gymnasium which was
above the fire station in the community center in the middle of this town of 1800. A
new gym, though, has been built next to the high school. Progress.
Through all the consolidations, Cannelton, a Southern Indiana, Ohio River City
has remained independent. The high school is now the 2nd smallest in Indiana, with
29 graduates last year.
Yep. It was an interesting time. "We'll be true to the school that we loved so
well ...."

I can't believe the violence in SNOWBOUND! I still haven't told Mom I'm writing
Spyreports. She'd have a cow! Well, here we go... MVP award for INGLEMORT JULS?
MIDDLE WAY 6's proud of him after beating MRS. VAUGHN and getting 30 points. Talk
about yer major upsets! LETTER B's match with MA BARKER cost it a loss of 6 points!
And I was just getting used to the ex-Duelmaster's habit of...(!) Oh well, welcome
ON MY WAY. Aren't OPEN SESAME proud. (Oh, my.) Is the Duelmaster really being a
real snob to his teammates? Don't ask me!
AAARRGH!!! I HATE SPYREPORTING!!! Sorry. I just had to say it. DRUID'S GROVE
was the most avoided team. Is a 172-162-15 record really that scary? I don't know
what LIFE IMPACTS' been doing. They certainly haven't been accepting many fights
from DRUID'S GROVE, that's fer sher. Like, is DOMJON popular, or what? He was
challenged the most in all of SNOWBOUND! He's got a 22-22-3, is that good? People
were asking me did HOOPS REALLY challenge DOMJON? (all right, maybe they didn't, but
it sounded good!) It wasn't a spectacular fight, or anything, but DOMJON wants me to
write about it since he defeated HOOPS. Satisfied?

Me, I'm more laid back. Hey you guys, don't you think your families would like to

I really didn't, you know, study when I was a kid. Who would've guessed I'd be

SUMMER FACE-TO-FACE IN CLEVELAND!
Our summer FTF will be an eastern one this time, located in Cleveland, Ohio on July
17-19, 2009. It will be held at the Holiday Inn in Strongsville, OH, at 15471
Royalton Rd (440-238-8800). Rooms are only $95.00 per night, 1-2 occupancy.
There is a free shuttle from the airport, free parking, and free high-speed wireless
internet in all guestrooms ($3/day in public space). The hotel has an indoor pool,
pool table, and hockey, and a fitness center. The hotel is located 1/2 mile from the
largest mall in Northeast Ohio, with indoor minigolf and pottery painting, and right
next door to Iceland Arena, which offers open skate and skate rental. They also have
four bikes on property available for checkout, as the Metro parks are next door as
well. The rooms are blocked--ask for the "Reality Simulations" room block. There are
many restaurants and nightspots nearby and at the Mall, as well as a cafe in the
hotel.
