DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
I guess you should hear from me. After all, I have been your Duelmaster three
times now. It would have been a lot more if my old teammate Extrusion had not
clogged up the top spot for so many weeks. Sheesh!
When we left DM81, I was 7-2, having gone 5-0 against nasty lungers. Since then
I am 27-5 (in Snowbound) and have seen only ONE lunger--the Venomous Concubine--and I
LOST to it! Unfair!
Well, I'll tell you this ... I have a LOT of stat trains--four on strength
alone. Lifting weights helps, Smitty says. I think I am a long, long way away from
a Lord protectorship. I am.
Okay, just to get you straight, here are the current Life Impacters and their
association to The Big Boss's Life Impacts:
Mrs. Vaughn--his absolute favorite high school teacher--English, Latin, Literature.
She once told the freckled boss, "You are as cute as a speckled pup, but that's not
half as cute as you think you are."
Hoops--high school basketball in Indiana was the thing as he played four years for
the Bulldogs
4-H--as a kid he spent many years in this organization, once taking 18 projects for
the summer. He looked cute exhibiting the apron at The Fair--the one he made for
Sewing I--with help from his grandmother.
St. Michael--The Catholic Grade School the boss attended, graduating 8 in his 8th
grade class was a special time for him. Michael also became his Confirmation name.
Durango Kid--his favorite movie hero from the olden days. (You'd better look that
one up on Wikipedia!)

Busy, busy, busy, lots of things happening in SNOWBOUND this turn, and let's
start with a look at some of the teams. And let's see, BELLADONNA fought REFUSE and
gained 20 points and contributed to DARQUE FORCES II's 1-4-0. REFUSE has lost to
BELLADONNA, falling 11 points, while helping make THE HEAP a 1-4-1 turn. This turn
MRS. VAUGHN challenged KIRLA LORVIN in what was SNOWBOUND's Title bout. We should
ask KIRLA LORVIN about the thrill of victory, and what being the new Duelmaster does
for a warrior, she's now the one to ask. Can someone confirm a rumor for me? I hear
the top team makes their losing fighters do dishes at The Victory Tavern until they
win. Maybe?
He who challenges well, fights well. He who avoids without cause, shall lose
for good reasons. My mama told me that one. DARQUE FORCES II has cause to stand
tall, as they were SNOWBOUND's most avoided team. A smart manager knows this is a
team to beat. And guess who avoided DARQUE FORCES II stable the most? Believe it or
not, it was LIFE IMPACTS. Anyone surprised? Well, sports fans, take notice that
KIRLA LORVIN from MIDDLE WAY 6 was SNOWBOUND's most challenged warrior this turn. In
a brave attempt, TRASH from THE HEAP challenged up 19 points to fight AL CAPONE from
the CRIMINAL MINDS stable. TRASH perhaps got his just desserts, seeing as he was
bested by AL CAPONE and ended up with 4 recognition points.
The Dark Arena is for those who cannot win, not who cannot lose with grace.
