Notes from the arena champ.
In a way, I'm sorry to see you go, Mrs. Vaughn. You've been a fixture here for
a long time, something like four years, I make it. But in another way, I'm glad,
because we all need to move on sooner or later, and this is your time. Who knows, my
time may follow.

SPY REPORT
Greetings warriors! It is I, Zontani Sharp Eyes, here to bring report of the
clash and bustle of the weekly SNOWBOUND games. My praise to CRIMINAL MINDS for
their 4-1-1 week this time out. Indeed, it was a skillfully fought round deserving
of notice! DURANGO KID caught the eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as he
skillfully bested GOBERT HINNY and was awarded 20 points in recognition. In one of
the week's more notable duels, BUGSY MALONE put down PURPLE ACE, causing him to lose
13 points of recognition in the process. Who here was not present for the title
fight this week as WHISTLIN' DIXIE boldly challenged CASS DOLAN in order to strive
for the Duelmasters honors? Although WHISTLIN' DIXIE made a valiant effort, it did
not suffice to topple the reign of victorious CASS DOLAN. Informants "close" to the
city champion have told me that he never fights without pantyhose on beneath his
armor. Watch out!
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city SNOWBOUND. SNOWBOUND, city of gladiators! Mighty among the names of
thy guilds is CRIMINAL MINDS, a guild shunned and avoided by many in the weekly
duels. Methinks more than a few here could name the guild it was that spent the
better part of last week avoiding CRIMINAL MINDS. Indeed it was LIFE IMPACTS.
Is not Death a warrior's foremost adviser? Warriors, may this counselor stand
ready at your right hand forever! The warrior's path is harsh. For mediocrity there
is but one reward--death. This past week KLYMENESTRA, at 4-5-1, departed SNOWBOUND
forever. Walk proud, warriors of CRIMINAL MINDS! By striking down BURN PIT you have
avenged the honor of your dead. Your virtue is known to all in SNOWBOUND. Some say
a warrior is judged by the way he bears arms. One thing is sure, better a dagger in
hand then a sword on the belt!
A thought before I go. Each warrior practices one style, but must not the wise
manager learn the secrets of them all? Ahh, but I can hear the spires of a far off

WINTER FACE-TO-FACE IN SUNNY ARIZONA!
Our next winter FTF will be held in Tempe, Arizona, January 14-16, 2011. It will be
held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Tempe, Arizona (480-894-7444), the same hotel as
last year by popular request. Room rates are $129.00 per night, 1-2 occupancy, which
includes full cooked breakfast, complimentary manager's reception (yes, really!), free
airport shuttle, free parking and free high speed internet. There's a fitness center,
jacuzzi, and pool. The rooms are blocked--please make your reservation by December 22
before the block is released! (This is prime season for Phoenix, and people have been
unable to book rooms because they waited too long.) Look for the tournament info
sheet and minioverviews some time in December. We hope you're all looking forward to
it and that we will see you there!
