TEAM SPOTLIGHT
Nasty Nes was "born" 22 years ago sometime mid 1989 on turn 3. He was one of my
original 5 warriors on my first roll up sheet along with Red Alert and Threshpack.
With minimal coaching and advice I got from my friend who happened to start playing
on turn 1 this is what he looked like. 11(13)-14(15)-12-13-21-4(5)-9(11). Looking
back I really can't complain about the starting numbers. Since my return from a 20
year retirement he has fought for 9 turns and 2 tournaments for a total of 17 fights
but a poor showing of only 12 skills and 2 stat trains. The poor showing on him and
the rest of my old timers is probably due to the FE advantage my guys have. Hard to
learn from less experienced fighters, it seems. Besides, old folks always think they
know everything. You would assume my stable would dominate the arena, but that has
been far from the case. Everyone is learning at a terrible rate but they still have
2-4 experts to masters ratings. Just in the WRONG areas for all of them. So here I
am with AARP warriors not learning well and getting their ass kicked on a regular
basis. Honestly, they should have been DAed but I felt I had to graduate them just
out of principle. I cleaned house a couple of turns ago but I couldn't do it for
these three.
19(+1)/7/25/16/9/10, 52 skills 36FE, great endurance, tremendous hp, good damage.
Morning Star fav with mod/low attack favorite. I ended up spending all of my time
fighting Life Impacts and could never put away 4-H even being short 1 attack from
master. Surprisingly was able to beat the rest of his team with my tremendous hp vs
actual parry abilities. Thanks for getting him graduated!

DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Won't say much, even though this is three titles in a row for me. Am off to
camp. No, not Camp Pahoka, which is for Scouts. 4-H Camp, silly. Catch me later;
probably right here.

SPY REPORT
Well, what are you looking at, SNOWBOUND? Ain't you never seen Snide Clemens
before? Ah, shaddup and listen to my news. Now let's all watch DANGER DANGER's
heads swell from their 4-1-0 this turn. Haa ha ha ha! Big shots, big talk, big
deal. Of course, we're all terribly impressed to see CAMP PAHOKA win a fight and
gain 15 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, SMOKEY BEAR beat LADIRO MAELS and LADIRO MAELS
lost 10 points. You're breakin' my heart. Going for broke or broken, our Duelmaster
NASTY NES challenged this turn. And if variety is the spice of life, SNOWBOUND may
be getting bland, as 4-H stays top dog in the city. I'm not in a very good mood
today, but why am I telling you this? You want to know what's new, don't you,
SNOWBOUND?
My mother always told me, 'If you don't have anything nice to say, start
talking.' I loved that woman. SNOWBOUND, I am losing what little hope I had in you.
PUBLIC ENEMY the most avoided team? What insult will suffice, I cannot say. And it
looks like LIFE IMPACTS avoided them the most this turn. What a pack of would be
losers, if you ask me. Hmph. Ooh, I'm frightfully impressed, THRESHPACK was this
turn's most challenged warrior. Watch that ego swell, sports fans.
Death and Taxes. The less death I see, the more it taxes my patience. Let's
see if anyone's dead or dying. We're all going to die in the end, so why worry if
the fate catches up with you sooner that later?
I was about to buy a new quill pen the other day, but some fighter took it for
an epee. Forgive me for writing with a dagger. Just wait 'till next time I show up
here, I won't be so nice! So nyaaah! Glad to see the back of this place-- Snide
Clemens

Under The Gun -- You need a silencer. -- Math
Venomous Concubine -- No poison AND I had my way with you! Gooooo, Aces! -- Purple
Ace

-- 4-H (feeling discriminated against)
Threshpack -- My bite was bigger than my bark. -- Bulldog
Y'all be gud, now; ye hear? -- Smitty
How boring! -- Arenamistress Tora
Elena Faresta -- To each their own, but I rather like the air here. -- Smaug
Grief -- It would seem I brought you your namesake. Sorry (I think). -- Thor
Elena Faresta -- You seem to have overcome your distaste of city air for our fight.
-- Beleg Bloodaxe
Synergy -- That was just plain old nasty; Beren had almost accrued enough cast to get
a new hand grafted on. Well, I guess it's time for me to start throwing my lads (and
lad-ettes) at you and see what happens. -- Sigurd Fafnisbane, mgr the Myrmidons
Our congratulations to Nasty Nes. -- Jorja and the Middle Way
Red Alert -- The siren startled me, okay? And then my weapon got angry, and that
REALLY startled me. Plus, I didn't get enough sleep the night before, a party, you
know. -- Ladiro Maels
P.S. Good fight, I guess, good turn-around, anyway.
High Voltage -- I really got a charge out of that! -- Moldar Nay
Smaug -- You don't look like a dragon, so I figure you must be really dirty air,
instead. Bleh. -- Shobart Teegue
P.S. If you write personals, I can respond to your character instead of making bad
puns.
Beleg Bloodaxe -- Perhaps you could help me? I have sometimes wondered what makes an
otherwise normal axe into a bloodaxe. -- Elena Faresta
Camp Pahoka -- Ah. Um. I never could see sleeping in a tent on a cot when there was
a perfectly good house and bed available. -- Jenna Kuul
