Notes from the arena champ.
Well, Grandmaster, that was fairly pointless, wasn't it? You did get some
skills, though. These days, I suppose that's the best any of us can hope for.
Assur, you sweet man, I really appreciate your interest in me. Does this extend
to taking me out to dinner occasionally on the Isle?
The Evil Inputter informs me that she has already Told All. Some people can't
keep secrets, but I don't mind. Nothing to hide, my dear. I have no idea what took
me so long, having the wins, the fights, the political points, not having gotten
anything new and amazing in the way of skills this time.... Oh, I see. Fifty
fights. Okay, I guess having only one rating held me back until I reached--and
survived--fifty fights. What sticklers these Commission types are! I was ready to
go long before that. I believe I shall arena-select Darkholm and maybe even fight
there for a while. No doubt I will do poorly, but this will come as no surprise to
anybody. And surely I won't be as poor as Life of Osksi!

SPY REPORT
Ready for some action-packed adventure, some thrills, chills and spills? Well
fergit it, cause this is the Spyreport for TRICORUS. Like, DARK HORSEMEN had to be
so embarrassed when they got kicked off #1 spot by ALL-UGLY TEAM! Way to go ALL-UGLY
TEAM! MVP award for SAM CASSELL? ALL-UGLY TEAM's proud of him after beating MARGALH
and getting 25 points. Talk about yer big time losers! MARGALH got smashed by SAM
CASSELL, and lost 21 points! Oh, wow, like the Duelmaster must be the most popular
gal in all TRICORUS. She got the most challenges. (But what about proposals?)
WILLIE MCGEE thinks his 16-1-1 and studly character is good enough to face up to the
Duelmaster. Any bets? And I was just getting used to the ex-Duelmaster's habit
of...(!) Oh well, welcome WILLIE MCGEE. Aren't ALL-UGLY TEAM proud. (Oh, my.) Who
was the wiseguy that said TRICORUS' Duelmaster was paying for drinks at The Blue
Dolphin Inn? Don't look at me!
So just why would someone becomes a warrior anyway? It can't be for these
really neat Spyreports can it? RONIN was TRICORUS' most avoided team. Is there some
award for that? I don't know what ALL-UGLY TEAM's been doing. They certainly
haven't been accepting many fights from RONIN, that's fer sher.
What does a fighter fight for? I mean, the crowds don't give a hoot if someone
gets killed. Not after four more fights. How cruel! ALL-UGLY TEAM heartlessly sent
his to ROBERT PARISH certain fate in the Dark Arena. Is a 8-4-0 bad or something?
Everyone has problems, but why did ALL-UGLY TEAM send ROBERT PARISH to the Dark
Arena? He had a 8-4-0, and I thought he looked neat on the sands... What if they
had a fight and nobody showed up? I'd be out of a job, that's what!!!
I really didn't, you know, study when I was a kid. Who would've guessed I'd be
a famous Spyreporter? I'm getting tired of writing this stuff, so I'm calling it

Oh, a Captured Orc. Hmm. I wonder where he came from? Can't have been a local
recent capture, haven't been any wild orcs around here for years. And he isn't an
OLD orc, you can tell them because their tusks are blunt. So, he must be an import.
Which raises an interesting question. Lately we've had do-gooders from Osksi and
Jhelum telling us that our slave trade here is Wrong. And yet, somebody is bring us
orcish slaves. Makes you wonder about a thing or two, doesn't it? Maybe a double
standard somewhere. I don't actually like orcs, myself, but I can sympathize, as we
Rirorni have been treated as "sub-human animals" a time or two ourselves. I think I
should let this Captured Orc go, except that I'd have to give him enough money to be
sure he'd escape, and I don't have that much. And Delange won't even let me bring
him home for dinner, she can't stand orcs. Oh, well. -- Margalh
