                                      SPY REPORT

I can't believe the violence in TRICORUS! I still haven't told Mom I'm writing
Spyreports. She'd have a cow! Well, here we go... MVP award for BEER BELLY?
DECEIVERS' proud of him after beating BUM and getting 18 points. Talk about yer big
time losers! MORNING DEW got smashed by GARAK, and lost 7 points! Like VAN DUEL's
CABO WABO is sweating since he got challenged by Duelmaster NOG! This Duelmaster is
like something else! NOG stopped CABO WABO dead in his tracks! Who was the wiseguy
that said TRICORUS' Duelmaster was paying for drinks at The Blue Dolphin Inn? Don't
look at me!
So just why would someone becomes a warrior anyway? It can't be for these
really neat Spyreports can it? WILDCATS was the most avoided team. Is a 43-71-4
record really that scary? Hhmph! What kind of warriors are AMAZON ELITE? WILDCATS,
an easy team to beat if I ever saw one, can't get them to accept an invitation! Can
ERRATA's BUM be more popular than me? He was challenged the most, but is that really
the same?
Man, all these warriors dying and killing each other! Don't you guys ever give
it a break? What a bummer deal for BUM! He just barely was getting his "fighter
feet" but got kill by BEER BELLY of DECEIVERS! Those're the breaks, I guess. Hey
you guys, don't you think your families would like to hear from you? Write! (Or
have someone write for you.)
I really didn't, you know, study when I was a kid. Who would've guessed I'd be
a famous Spyreporter? I'm getting tired of writing this stuff, so I'm calling it
quits. I had a fun time, see you later-- Debby Tonte

                                     PERSONAL ADS

Cabo -- Well done sir. Couple more blood fueds and Chuck will have a new team. --
Coach

Ice Cream Man -- I bet your getting tired of seeing me. Good fight. -- Nog

Ed -- Please always print my personal ads exactly as written. I noticed that you
capitalized the "A" in "alfredo" in an ad I wrote last turn. I INTENDED on having a
small "a;" it was done on purpose. For example, there used to be a manager "mouse"
that never capitalized (by design) either. I enter Chatzy as "alfredo," NOT
"Alfredo." If I wanted a capital letter at the beginning, I'd put it there myself.
So please...do not "correct" any ads that I send in in the future. Thanks.

Okay, but you have to tell me these things. I don't enter chatzy at all.
Of course, it wouldn't HURT if you cleaned up your text, sent it as plain text.
I don't know what kind of formatting code it is, other than annoying. -- Ed.

On the other hand...if Coach sends in any more ads saying he's gonna put "beets" on
me, perhaps you could save him the embarrassment and correct the spelling for him...
LOL.

But what is he to do with all those beets, then? You can only eat so many
     before, um, having problems.

One Eye -- *chortle* Too funny! Perhaps if it ever happens you can convince your
teammates to ride east instead. -- alfredo

Jorja -- Well...not only did my best AB die...I had to go and send Candy on a
bloodfeud with bloodlust in her eyes....and she gets herself killed as well
*grimace*. We'll be back; I have a couple more AB prospects to develop eventually,
but the loss of Terri and Candy makes Tricorus a lower immediate priority. --
alfredo

One-four, and THIS is an improvement! We might as well go eat worms, which I believe
is the technically correct response, but we don't LIKE worms, so we'll just, hmm,
slink away and barbecue a pig. Yeah, that works. -- Klaralla

Zeb Karan around the big table. Arena staff of all ranks and titles sat and
stared at each other: arenamasters, standbys, Dark Arena warriors, stewards and
infirmarians, even the maintenance crew. This was not the first time they'd met like
this, and it probably wouldn't be the last.
"So this is it again, is it?" Lew Voth asked. "Less than seven years since they
closed Dwes Eg to new teams, and now they're closing Blackstone?"
"Only to new teams," one of the spymasters pointed out. "And it's necessary.
There are several file rooms we haven't been able to enter in months because they're
too full of team records."
"Nothing you couldn't fix with a lighted match," Jame Rinvar suggested.
Technically he should not have been there, since he'd taken over full time as the
arenamaster of Shadowspire. But no one wanted to tell him to leave.
"We may NEED those records one of these days," Chief Steward Hesselrod protested.
"We can't burn RECORDS."
     "I could," Rinvar said.
"But you won't." Voth pinned him with a stare. "Don't stir up trouble for its
own sake, Jame."
Rinvar raised his hand in a gesture of surrender. "I'll be good, Lew."
"When are they shutting down Blackstone?"
"To new teams only, remember--the old ones will keep fighting if their managers
want to pay the fees. This week. Maybe next week. Hard to be sure, when you travel
from Alastari to anywhere else, there's a time distortion effect. But probably this
week. Same operating rules as Dwes Eg (82): no new teams in, but the old ones can
recruit new members. New teams will go to the new place--" Zeb Karan cast a look of
enquiry around the room.
     "Jasper Gulch," a steward said.
"Right. New teams will go to Jasper Gulch. I'm not sure the day for it, probably
'opposite' Blackstone in the schedule. A regular two-week cycle. Teams can be
transfered in from regular arenas, I suppose, but not OUT."
Voth nodded. "We can work with this."
     "Beats not working."
