                                      SPY REPORT

Hail and well met warriors of FRATSFA! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp
Eyes, Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. Former top team ASSASSIN NATION was
unseated this week as OHIO moved up from 2nd ranking to take the top spot with a
3-1-0 record for the round. MAYHEM caught the eye of many in the gladiatorial
commission as he skillfully bested RENDOR QUIL and was awarded 26 points in
recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels, SOUTHPOINT put down
CAULIFLOWER EARS, causing him to lose 8 points of recognition in the process. Not
for nothing has MUTILATE in the past laid claim to the Duelmaster's throne, and this
week he's proven his combat skill yet again. Informants "close" to the city champion
have told me that he never fights without pantyhose on beneath his armor. Watch out!
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city FRATSFA. FRATSFA, city of gladiators! Mighty among the names of thy
guilds is OHIO, a guild shunned and avoided by many in the weekly duels. If you
didn't look down dark alleys you'd have been hard pressed to find any of OTTO'S PARTS
last week. Busy avoiding OHIO?
Vendettas. Bloodied blades and broken spears. Indeed the city has seen more
than its fair share of red in recent times. Some say a warrior is judged by the way
he bears arms. One thing is sure, better a dagger in hand then a sword on the belt!
The girls are as pretty in FRATSFA as ever I remembered them....and the fighters
as ugly! Don't let your reputation slip! Sadly warriors, now longer can I keep thy
company nor savor the ale of thy fine city. Depart I must and soon! Till next we
meet remember - the pen is mightier than the sword, but a maul is a different
story!-- Zontani Sharp Eyes

                                     PERSONAL ADS

Sorry to have written no personals last time. The occurrence of the Face to Face,
though I don't go to it, always disrupts my schedule. We'll try to make it up to
you, though. -- Leeta, The Middle Way

Mayhem -- Even though it happened last time--time before last--whenever it was, I
didn't get to write a personal to you about it then, so I'm doing it NOW, because I
think you should be ASHAMED of yourself. The war between the giants and the elves
was over YEARS ago. Centuries, even. Your action was WHOLLY unnecessary. -- the
very annoyed ghost of Minili Orh

Cauliflower Ears -- Well, I didn't expect the cheese sauce. Very surprising that
was. Took me aback for that critical moment, allowing you to, shall we say, turn me
into creamed lentils. -- Lena Koril, not really a lentil, of course, but it seemed
somehow RIGHT just then....

Juju Zombie -- Wow, you even have a power number! 3333! I'm amazed I was able to
overcome you, with all that stacked against me. -- Tealin Sali
P.S. But maybe you had TOO MANY threes in your id number. Maybe there should only
have been THREE threes, and, say, a nine, i.e., three threes, to end it with? You
might want to look into this. It could be significant.

Severity -- You half elves are impressive in your ways, tall and slim and all that,
but we orcs have our own ways of impressing people. (straightens up proudly) I bet
not even Lady Fern could match this! -- Salina Rees
P.S. Don't mind the fangs. Big fangs are a sign of a passionate nature.

Silt Horror -- (surprised look) People find silt horrifying? It's just good old
dirt, when you get right down to it. Fine stuff, dirt. -- Rendor Quil, not
fastidious

Collapsed Lung -- (bitterly) And a dirty, sneaky, low down trick it was, too! --
Rendor Quil, who doesn't like that kind of surprises

Cauliflower Ears -- Not that I ever heard of. At least, Mama never mentioned a
mustang. But maybe this wild horse was a black sheep, as well? -- Tealin Sali

Middle Way 8 -- I don't know what happened...my strategy was clear to me. I had my
armor strapped on and my weapon was sharp. I was awaiting your bloodfeud. My name
was never called to come to the sands. Very strange. -- Mayhem

Salina Rees -- Wow, you can take your share of damage! -- Severity

30 July 2004
The total number of fights calculated was reported as 250 fights. This is a
misprint. It should have read "over 2,500 fights." -- Baphomet

                                FACE-TO-FACE XXXIV

Our next Winter Face-to-Face will be held on Martin Luther King weekend, Friday
through Sunday, 14-16 January 2005, at the Embassy Suites in Tempe, Arizona (4400 S
Rural Rd--this is the same hotel as last year). Room rates are $139.00 per night,
1-4 occupancy, which includes breakfast. The rooms are blocked. The reservations
number is 480-897-7444; tell them you're with the "Reality Simulations Face to Face
Convention" block. Our room block will be released in mid-December, so please make
sure you reserve your room before then!
Room rates include a full cooked-to-order breakfast and a complimentary two-hour
manager's reception. There is a free shuttle to the airport, as well as free parking.
The hotel is located down the freeway in Tempe. All rooms have high speed internet
(for an extra charge). There is a fitness center, jacuzzi, and pool, and of course a
bar and Mexican restaurant inside the hotel. And there's Denny's right across the
street. Look for transportation info in the tournament information sheet.
The tournament information sheet/strategy sheet should be out sometime in late
November/early December.
If you haven't been to a Face-to-Face before, you're overdue. If you have,
you'll be back. Don't miss this one, it'll be a blast! See you there!
