A team created once upon a time when I (Crip) wanted to attempt to create an alter ego manager in three different arenas, Otto's Parts here in Fratsfa, Otto's Motives in DM60, and Otto's Mechanics in DM19 (Later moved to DM28), so that I could try and fool a couple of friends by trying a different managerial alias (in case you hadn't guessed, Otto). The team has long had a on-again-off-again status here in Fratsfa, but if there was going to be a arena contest going on here in our beloved little arena, the team could be brought out of hiatus to enjoy the party. Bloody Nose had been sitting on 16 political points for ages, and since it would have taken ages for it to turn into a bona fide challengers tournament hopeful, this is a suitable diversion to abort that mission. Bloody Nose started life as a 9-9-14-15-17-5-15 Plunger, and has suffered through an intolerably low learning rate, having only picked up about 50 skills in total. Perhaps that's from his previous life as a boxer. Favourites include the epee, very low/moderate rhythm, with a tendency to learn parry skills (18 of 50 skills are of that variety). (Caveat, currently on the road with work and unable to access the accurate information, so the numbers above are off the top of my head and not guaranteed accurate.). Although Bloody Nose recently participated in the Freshmen tournament in St. Louis, his fighting days are going to be over. Collapsed Lung, injured in a transportation accident, is probably one of the more appropriately named warriors on the team, however, beware its maul, as it moves quickly and hits hard. Hopefully it wins another few fights to hold the throne, and then will also be off to retirement. Cauliflower Ears, formerly a second row rugby player, may have the opportunity to prolong its duelling career should he be able to graduate from Fratsfa. Brain Tumour, not to be confused with Brain Tumor, a previously typo'd name warrior who was one of the Otto's Parts squad years ago, is off to an interesting start on the sands. Management is very interested to see this trend continue. The newest addition to the team, is an middle-aged softball player, Pulled Hamstring. Unable to run, he keeps his activity level low. But every now and again, he decides to turn it up a notch, and pop goes the hammy yet again. There will be someone new joining the parts list in the very near future, but you'll have to stayed tuned to Fratsfa to find out just exactly who. The church had been his life and without it he had chosen not to live! His plan was to walk into the swamp and never return. As he approached the marsh, out of the water rose a figure of a man. The man stood there stoically blocking Bob's path. The Reverend stopped before the man and an idea came to him. He would start a new church and this man would be his Elder, the rock the church would be built on. As Bob turned to walk away the silent one followed him. Walking back to town Bob spotted another man. This one was passing out flyers. Bob took one and read it. He also asked the man to follow him. That is how he found the Usher! The flyer was about a contest in Fratsfa, what a Godless city. He decided to start a church there. Bob took the Elder and the Usher and undertook the journey. Outside town on the road, Bob spotted a man feeding birds. This man joined their party. He is known as The Deacon! A few miles further along there was a group of singers! There was one man leading the singers and another taking up a collection. Bob spoke to both of these men and they joined him. So were born Choir Director and The Steward. The Reverend and his team of five made their way on to Fratsfa. * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * Jhans: The Pit; fortress stronghold of all The Fallen guilds throughout Alastari. Inside Lord High Commander Azrael's throne room. Azrael is sitting upon his dais looking down at his "Quester's" from Fratsfa. To say he isn't happy after his first cycle in Fratsfa would be a grand understatement. His champion Badda Bang stands next to him casually leaning on her longspear. She grins at her teammates as they kneel in the bow position Azrael prefers, right knee on the ground with right knuckles pressed to the ground left hand on opposing hip and left thigh parallel to the ground. It was not comfortable. As she looked at each one she thought of the circumstances that brought them to serve Lord Azrael. Pringel had been found in a can behind a tavern busted up by some thieves. She had leaped at the chance to get the skills to get her vengeance. Six months later she had sent all but one to the afterlife. She left him crippled in a garbage can. She learned very well and was very adept at the warrior life, so Azrael had named her his scout for this contest. She was in the most trouble by far. Graendel was from Kati Tei and had always worked as a mercenary until Lord Azrael had convinced her to come work for him. At an considerable rate of course. She had quickly come to appreciate working for a cause and had signed on permanently. She still pulled a going rate equal to the Crimson Guard. She understood punishment though and would survive what was to come. Trammel was to stupid to bother with. But he made a good door stop hence his former position as a bouncer in the Loucas Lounge in Jhans. Azrael had made a considerable investment in time to make him arena worthy. He might survive. Trampel on the other hand, would not. The mess in the corner would take a little while to clean up. His replacement would need to learn from this. Badda Bang reflected on herself for a moment. She was second-in-command of the Crimson Guard, Azrael's personal guard. And the First Commander of the Silver Guard. What they did was top secret. She had returned to arena fighting for a short period of time to bring glory to her beloved Commander. She hoped her team would perform better in the future. She saw Azrael nod. She hefted her spear and started down the dais. It was time for the punishment to begin. * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * Fangthayne sat in a padded chair looking out at his assembled stable. He held the letter accepting the Dark Raiders stables entrance into "Frastfa's Quest for the Best" crumpled in his right hand while he drummed the fingers of his left on the arm of his chair. As he sat, he thought about how it all began.... He had originally come to Alastari to evade an assassination attempt by his father. Once here, he had been convinced by DEST to take co-ownership of a stable of gladiators in Zorpunt. Shortly after he had sold his interest in the stable to DEST and left Zorpunt to strike out on his own. He wandered Alastari somewhat aimlessly before settling down in Fratsfa. He had bought this rundown old stable house on an outer street; close enough to the arena to make travel practical for his gladiators, but far enough away that he could have some peace for his studies. Renovations had been done by him and his original gladiators, several of whom had become Lord Protectors. As the renovations had come along, Fangthayne designated the portion of the first floor facing the street as an apothecary to help offload things he gathered in his personal studies. From his shop, he sells all manner of herbs, medicines, and potions. For more discerning clients, the shop offers a wide assortment of unusual animals and plants. Anything is available for the right price. In fact, he had only just returned in the last hour with a very unusual plant for a customer. Finding the plant had taken him longer than anticipated and kept him away from Fratsfa for weeks. This last thought brought Fangthayne back to the matter at hand. He scanned the assembled host before him. After a quick glance over his apprentices he looked to his current stable of gladiators. Pandemic and Sorrow were fencing with a pair of practice blades while Psychosis watched and the Shewish giant twins, Malice and Gangrene, were occupying themselves by taking turns punching each other. They all stopped and turned toward him as Fangthayne cleared his throat. "It would appear that even in my absence Dark Raiders still managed to enter the "Quest for the Best," Fangthayne began. "Although I am pleased with your initiative in this matter and your showing in the first round," he paused eyeing each gladiator in turn, "I am most disappointed in fight selection while I was gone. You all know how I feel about extreme down challenging." Fangthayne paused to watch as his gladiators fidgeted uncomfortably under his glare. He also noticed that one of his apprentices, Albrecht, squirming as well. "As penance, we shall make no challenges this week. You fight whoever you happen to be matched up against." Fangthayne dismissed the stable with a wave of his hand. As they left, he whispered, "That was an excellent job of forging my signature on the entry and challenge forms while I was away, Albrecht." "Thank you, my Lord," Albrecht responded to the compliment. "However, it will never happen again," commented Fangthayne. With a wave of his hand, Albrecht burst into brilliant green flames. Albrecht screamed briefly as the flames quickly consumed his body. As the remains collapsed into a small pile of ash, Fangthayne stood up and left the room; he could use a drink and there was a new tavern in town. He also needed more rose petals for a potion and an urn for the new human ashes he had just found. * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * Quester's Contest Info! Requirements! 1) Only ONE team per manager entered in the contest. Only one active team in Fratsfa during the contest, PERIOD! 2) Only one TP on your team at a time. (If it dies, then you may replace it.) 3) You must declare (1) warrior as your team scout. Points will not be scored until a scout is declared!!! 4) You do not need (3) three warriors in the initiates class to compete. FE does not play a factor for eligibility!!!! 5) If you bloodfeud, you must use a different warrior each time to score the FB points. (If a warrior is used twice, he will only be awarded the points for the win or point subtracted for the loss on the second bloodfeud. 6) You must declare your team in the p-ads to be entered. 7) A champion and scout cannot be the same warrior. 8) Champions are not required (manager's choice). Champions must be declared on their first fight of the contest! Now to the scoring formula: Wins + Kills - Losses = Base score Base score + Variant score = Total score BASE SCORE POINTS: Win = +1 pt Kill = +1 pt Loss = -1 pt VARIANT SCORE POINTS: Scout Win = +2 pts Scout Loss = -2 pts Scout death = -5 pts Champion win = +3 pts Champion loss = -3 pts Stylemaster for turn = +1 pt Most avoided team = +2 pts Successful Bloodfeud = +2 pts Failed Bloodfeud = -2 pts Let's say (A) team goes 3 - 2 - 2 = 3 wins + 2 kills - 2 losses = + 3 base score. Team (A)'s champion won (+3 pts) and is style master for the turn (1 pt). His scout lost (-2 pts) for a total turn score of +5 pts. Now, let's say team (B) goes 1 - 4 - 1 = 1 win + 1 kill - 4 losses = - 2 pts base score. His scout won (+2 pts) and the scouts win was a successful bloodfeud (+2 pts). So, the total points for this turn would be +2 pts. (There was no champion on this team.) +25 bonus points will be given to managers that submit a brief history (5 paragraph minimum) including manager alias and stable name by the contest's third turn. These points will be added to the team by T-210. **** On to the list of prizes **** 1st Place "Fratsfa's Ultimate Victor" 1) Twelve (12) Rollup gift certificates transferred to 1st place manager. 2) Renaming of Fratsfa arena for six (6) months. 3) Renaming of Dark Arena monsters: Wurmkin, Bandit Prince, and Black Orc. 4) One (1) favorite's potion. * 5) One (1) +1 bonus skill potion. ** 2nd place 1) Eight (8) rollup gift certificates transferred to 2nd place manager. 2) Renaming of Dark Arena monsters: Dark champion and High Elf. 3) One (1) favorites potion. * 4) One (1) +1 bonus skill potion. ** 3rd Place 1) Four (4) rollup gift certificates transferred to 3rd place manager. 2) Renaming of Dark Arena monsters: Mountain Troll and Shewish Giant. 3) One (1) favorites potion. * 4) One (1) skill bonus potion. ** 4th Place 1) Three (3) gift certificates transferred to 4th place manager. 2) One (1) favorites potion * 3) Rename Dark Arena monster, Stone Golem. 5th Place 1) Two (2) Rollup certs 2) One (1) favorites potion * 3) Rename Dark Arena monster, Spy Master. 6th Place 1) One (1) rollup cert. 2) One (1) favorites potion * 7th-10th Place 1) One (1) favorite's potion * All teams who fight at least 67 of the possible 75 fights will get (1) free tournament entry for a warrior of the team that competed in Fratsfa in the first tournament after the completion of Fratsfa's Quest for the Best. ****NOTE**** * -- All potions must be used within (2) turns of the contest end, and on an initiate (tournament class) or higher character on the same team that competed in Fratsfa; this is non-transferable. * (1) One favorites potion gives all faves: Rhythm, tactic and weapon. ** (1) One + 1 skill bonus potion gives +1 to one skill * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * The air shuddered and with a crackle of light, Ghab stepped into the plane of Alastari. It had been many years since he had personally entered into this world, mostly communicating via scribes and soothsayers; fielding reports and sending orders for his devoted warriors to follow. Assassin Nation had been in existence for seventeen years. Its initial purpose as to groom assassins for use against the forces of his half-brother, the usurper. With his half-brother now deposed and in hiding it seemed a shame. The warriors of Assassin Nation were now more deadly than ever before. The last time Ghab had personally visited an arena city it had been that of Krill, an arena whose sands no longer hosted conflicts. That team now resided in Chimlevtal, and although currently idle, had amassed a total of 51 kills in 358 wins during slow arena play. His team in Fratsfa was even deadlier than the one now in Chimlevtal, and two of Ghab's lord protectors from the arena came with him to train their neophyte "siblings" in additional elements of the art of slaughter. Maelstrom led the way. He had graduated with a record of 17-11-3 and had an additional two kills in tournament play. He was followed by Possessed, whose arena total had been 16-11-2. The current stable was magnificent, Ghab thought. Mutilate was the "old man", having fought his first fight in Fratsfa some 44 turns before. He had been designated the team captain and did his best to train the younger warriors of the stable. He found now, however, that most of the younger warriors were now teaching him things instead. His kill the turn before had put him in good graces with Ghab, so he didn't worry about the fact that his record was the worst on the team. Vicious was currently the apple of Ghab's eye. He had returned from a tournament last year with the most kills Ghab had ever had with one warrior in a single event. He had finished the tournament with a record of 11-3-3. Ghab hoped that Vicious could learn a few things under the combined tutelage of Maelstrom and Possessed. He was already one of the most skilled warriors Ghab had ever had at this age, which as one of the reasons he had been declared the Champion of the team over the team captain. Torment was sitting, a little miffed by his rather quick exit from the throne of the arena. In all honesty, he knew that he was probably a couple of turns ahead of himself when he had found himself at the top of the stack. Collapsed Lung was just too much for him at this point of his career, although he wondered if that was true of some of the others on his team. He was on the verge of turning the corner on becoming a dominant fighter. Mayhem was a promising fighter. A large man, who could fell an ox with his bare hands, he preferred the point of a spear and the edge of a sword. He had been made the scout because of his perceived potential. Severity was the "youth" on the team. It seemed funny to him, due the fact that a large percentage of the warriors in the arena were far below him in the standings. He was skilled and he knew it. He felt sorry for anybody who challenged him thinking he would be a pushover. Ghab gathered his clan together. "Tonight we eat and drink. Enjoy yourselves! Tomorrow, you will all train harder than you ever have," Ghab proclaimed. "I am pleased with the level to which you have represented yourself so far in this tournament. If we are to win, however, we are going to have to fight our way through some pretty tough competition. I have faith!" The team all nodded in agreement. Blades were sharpened, even while the first drinks were being passed. * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * As the ship came along side of the pier, Muscle Bum and his one fighter Bob "Stinky" M. made preparations to depart. There was so much to do before they could start out on their quest to win the contest in Fratsfa, not the least of which was finding four more fighters to fill his stable. This is what was on Muscle Bum's mind when "Stinky" raised the alarm, when he looked out along the pier he saw a fight in progress, which didn't really concern him that much, until he spotted an old friend of his right in the middle of the melee. Even before the ship had fully reached the dock, he and Stinky were rushing to his friend's aid. This was more out of a need for a fighter than for long lost friendship, but if the two ideals could work together then all the better. "Stinky" and Muscle Bum had the situation in hand and had run off the street rabble that were attacking Bob "Gummy" Jr. As it turned out "Gummy" wasn't in the best of spirits. It hurt her pride to have to have someone help her in a fight, but even the most skilled fighter will fall to numbers and five to one is not the best odds. After they helped to clean "Gummy" up some and tried to find out what exactly was going on, they were surrounded by the local Constable and his deputies took "Gummy" to the stockade. "Stinky" was in favor of just leaving her there, but Muscle Bum was aware of her talents in the arena, and thought that just maybe a bargain could be struck with "Gummy." So, they checked into a local Inn for the night. Muscle Bum told "Stinky" that he would be back later, that he wanted to do some checking and see if something could be worked out with "Gummy." So, Muscle Bum headed out to the stockade to see if he could strike a deal. To Be Cont. + ]H[ + ---:--- + ]H[ The Mountains of Night #3 ]H[ + ---:--- + ]H[ + Morning was as overcast as the night had been. There was no sunrise, just a fading of the sky from black to gray. The air was colder than it had any right to be at this altitude and season. Huw studied the clouds, the mountain, the river, and muttered incredulously, "It's going to snow." The elf came to stand beside him on the brink of the hill. "In the summer?" "I don't think it IS summer here now." He shivered. He'd brought a poncho, because it was always cold in the mountains at night, but this was colder than he'd planned for. Colder than he had expected, or could believe possible even while it was happening. "Do you suppose the Black Kaliv can control the weather?" Tankesh duplicated his study of sky, mountains, and river. "Apparently." He frowned. "That's the trouble with blood magic. A man has to be unscrupulous to use it, but then it gives him a LOT of power for his unscrupulous purposes." Huw felt a chill that had nothing to do with the weather. "Why would he want to make it winter in the middle of summer?" "Who knows?" He stared at the mountain opposite their position without seeing it, studying the decision he had made in the night. It felt like the right decision, finally--so many things had shoved him one way or another since he'd left Andor, but now, finally, the choice was in his hands. This is where he would stop. The demons would chase him, or drive him, no further. His hand went to his sword without conscious thought, not drawing it, just touching the hilt. Killing demons wasn't easy, but it could be done. He would do it here. Somewhere right around Murska. Huw was still staring at the town. Finally he sighed. "There was a rumor in Riztab saying that all the dwarves had retreated underground, and I don't see any in the streets. I guess it's true." He paused, still watching the people not so far below them. "Lots of Shews, though, more than used to be normal." Tankesh didn't know much about Shews. The ones he'd met in the arena tended to be slow-moving and not too bright, but did that apply to the race as a whole? It seemed unlikely. "Could the unnatural winter have brought them out of the hills and forests?" Huw shrugged. "Maybe. Or the demons." "Will the Shews help fight the demons, if we get to needing more men?" Huw glanced at him and then away. "Ah...maybe. They don't like demons--who does? But they don't like Andorians, much, either, and they really don't like Fratsfans...and elves." Tankesh raised an eyebrow. Elves were the goodest of the good guys, everyone knew that--even when it wasn't true. "And this would be because...?" "There was a war, a long time back, how long depends on who you ask. The Fratsfans throwing their weight around, and the Shews didn't like it. They fought all over this part of Alastari. I guess it got bad, even for a war, and Serimna knows the 'best' war is bad enough. And Shews have long memories." "I don't recall hearing about such a war. Who won?" "The Karnhorns. Isn't it usually third and fourth parties who come out ahead after a war?" One of the clouds turned inky black, and a bolt of blackness shot from it to the mountain peak. Thunder roared. Pine trees exploded into purple fire. Rocks shattered and slid downward. A second bolt of darkness joined the first, which had not faded. "The demons have arrived." Tankesh said. DUELMASTER'S COLUMN Notes from the arena champ. What can I say? Just like the previous DM, I am surprised to be here, but not for the same reasons as my predecessor. In this case, my manager figures I am the least survivable design on the current team, and he is rather surprised that I haven't been killed off yet. Here's hoping that his wishes don't come true. Collapsed Lung Otto's Parts Duelmaster of Fratsfa SPY REPORT Like the magnificent Sun, rising upon the Dawn and exiling the Night for a Day, I, Novgorodny Vir, return once again! OTTO'S PARTS? Who? ODIN'S CHOSEN is the top team these days, buddies! THE CHURCH after a sorry 0-5-0 might want to consider abandoning the sands and taking up singing the 'Can't fight no more' blues! What's a move up by 6 you ask? (alright, maybe you didn't ask) Cause for celebration, according to FLOWER GIRLS. Good things come to those who fight well, as ODD ODIUS ORCS can attest, moving up by 4. ODIN'S CHOSEN had cause to celebrate, after SIGURD got 17 points by beating SER HAWKWING. A certain someone should cut down on the drinking and practice more, after losing 11 points to PULLED HAMSTRING. (Discrete enough, SKJOTT HIFNA?) Those who hoped for a new Duelmaster were disappointed by HORRID HOLLY, of FLOWER GIRLS, who despite a 11-8-0 couldn't overcome FRATSFA's Number 1. So who's the team that's been walking into taverns last week and ordering milk? Sounds like a PR stunt to me. A Zenmaster once told me, 'Does not the spinning wheel turn? And do not the little birds cry out?' Any ideas? To quell some nasty rumors, the guys in ODIN'S CHOSEN are not carrying any incurable diseases. No need to avoid 'em. Like a pup with its tail between its legs, ICELANDERS scurried away from ODIN'S CHOSEN. Oh, the shame! Everyone is famous for fifteen minutes, and YOUNG GRIM is it right now. Most challenged warrior. Isn't BLEAK LEGION proud! GARBLE GOBLIN challenged SEVERITY! Who says SPRINGBORNE FAIR are just a bunch of wimps! GARBLE GOBLIN of SPRINGBORNE FAIR kept his wits as he bested SEVERITY. Mismatched by 13 points, LORD DAVOS was overcame by GUTHHILD MIDWALL. Is this really worth noting? I thought GUTHHILD MIDWALL showed great skill and promise when she defeated LORD DAVOS. All right, so I slept through it! Big deal! Is there life after death? Pragmatics (and warriors) know there is death after life! I hear CHOIR DIRECTOR of THE CHURCH tired of the battles and was thinking of becoming a priest. GNARLY GNOME of SPRINGBORNE FAIR saved him the effort of getting references. More than one waitress at The Victory Tavern was spilling more drinks than usual last week, as THE STEWARD's early demise became known. What will THE CHURCH do??? Justice was served as TENTPEG TROLL fought TONNELLE in bloodfeud. Well done, SPRINGBORNE FAIR! Questions are being raised about the disposing of severed body parts in the arena. A certain tavern in FRATSFA would I avoid! All good things must come to an end. More important duties call me. Can anything compare to the pleasure of writing Spyreports for FRATSFA? Good luck! -- Tripwire We will miss Nasty Nasturtium, a 11-4(+1)-14-15(+1)-16(+1)-6-21 slasher who was blessed with great headlights and great damage and +2 attack/init. She was nationalized by Mutilate, and under normal circumstances she would have loved it. However.... -- Lady Fern Step-Up!! -- Who would have thought it? We were made for each other! Thanks for letting me be on top. (wink) -- Rambling Rose Young Grim -- I showed you some fancy tricks in the arena. Now, if you'll visit me at The Flower Shoppe, I'll show you ALL I've got. Not the best day to show up for work in these dismal recesses of crawling danger...and that's just the staging area. -- Garble Mayhem -- Viscous...I mean vicious. -- G. Gnome Heathen -- I have made it my goal to kill that tank you call a scout. -- The Expatriate All -- We have a contest going on. Why is everyone so quiet? -- The Expatriate Bod Le Canadian -- You have made my master's list of warriors to kill. -- Black Vipes Skjott Hifna -- You didn't win, you just outlasted me. -- Old Grim Pringel -- I guess you can't tell me to pick on someone my own size, can you? -- Little Death Toker -- First of all, nice challenge, though it doesn't appear that it went as you'd hoped and I'm glad! (grin) I had sent some personals in last turn, but Hal has obviously eaten them, so hopefully these ones will make it through. I guess I had misunderstood your point system because I thought I would be leading after turn one! I'm assuming that the fight between Bloodeagle and The Deacon on turn 207 only counted for +4 points (+1 for a win and +3 for champion) and not the +7 I'd thought. I was assuming that my beating a champion would also score me +3 as The Deacon has lost to me. Obviously I was wrong. I'll have to revamp my game plan. The second thing I wanted to address is the tie breaker you've outlined--recognition points are so arbitrary that determining a winner by that seems a bit anticlimactic. I say this with the knowledge that all of my warriors will likely be at the top of the arena at the end of 15 turns and I would not want to win in that way. I propose a one turn fight-off between anyone who ties to settle the victor. This of course, is merely a suggestion as I will honor your rules as they are, come what may! -- Heathen Hatebred Staghorn -- You don't have to be scared of me. I'm just a newbie! (grin) It's Crip you really have to worry about!! -- Heathen, having fun Goat, Goat? GOAT! Where are you? Hope all is well wherever you are. -- Heathen Ser Steel -- Well fought! I didn't see that one coming, but then Heathen doesn't know what he's doing half the time anyway! -- Sigurd Deacon -- I just wanted to see if it was a fluke the first time or not. Now I'm off to fight that Ser Steel guy, so wish me luck! -- Bloodeagle Jile -- Noble attempt, but I'm really not the average scummy type--nor am I a "monster" as your manager claims! I'm just an average Hassidic neuter, a bit unorthodox, but otherwise your typical enigma. -- Kykenstienburg Lady Red Hawk -- Thank you for the training. I really needed that! -- Gungniasdottir Ser Ilyn -- What are you doing parrying like that? Somehow I think I was very fortunate to win that fight! Thank you for the skills as well! -- Guthhild Crip -- Every time I turn around there you are! Well I'm not having it anymore! It's time to give up the top spots here!! -- Heathen Ghab -- I've got my eye on you! -- Heathen Le Pentarque -- You too! -- Heathen Lady Fern -- Your name has come up countless times in conversations with my wife. And just yesterday, I received a dispatch from Talcama. In it my wife said as long as I have my fun with an ageless beauty such as yourself, she has no quarrels. See, we are swingers by nature, but usually in groups. So this will be my first without her. So be gentle! (grin) -- Dark Knight Toker (smiling sheepishly) lol Papaiz -- Welcome to the Quest, and good luck! -- Toker, Quest co-host Slugbait -- Good to see you here. I hope you enjoy our lil' contest. May the sands be stained with your foes' blood! -- Toker Az -- Glad to see your team made it this turn. I wish you klk buddies would have come with you. I always enjoy Talon (Bookie). Good luck, and enjoy! -- Toker, Quest co-host Muscle Bum -- Glad to see you back on the sands. What's it been--three, four years. Goat isn't here yet, but he will be. And Skully isn't sure if he can make it yet. Good luck! -- Toker Toker -- Might I suggest a better tie breaker be the overall win-loss of the team during the tournament? Using the highest warrior's recognition points is not an accurate gauge of the overall team performance. Not all of the warriors started with the same FE and a team can be penalized by this in the long run. Maybe a second tie breaker could be the record between the two teams in question. -- Ghab/Assassin Nation Flower Girls -- Although I often run strategies designed to kill I am always saddened when one of your warriors falls under my team's blades. That was a rotten random matchup for Nasty Nasturtium. I await the bloodfeud! -- Ghab/Assassin Nation Pandemic -- You're quick. Luckily for me this game isn't all about getting the jump on your opponent (although it does often help). -- Vicious Collapsed Lung -- I wasn't looking for you. I expected your counterpart on the sand. Congratulations on the throne. Keep it warm, as I have to have it again some day. -- Torment Gnarly Gnome -- The challenge was based on your FE, not your recognition points. Ghab rarely sends an order to downchallenge unless a precedent is set. With this arena the top is kind of crowded. You being an entrant in the tournament made your fair game. -- Mayhem Gnarly Gnome -- You're a golem, by the way. -- Mayhem Malice -- Wasn't expecting your challenge. Good for you on the surprise.
