QUESTORS!!!
This will be another brief report, for I have been buried in schoolwork the last
couple of weeks. I am only listing the scores this turn. I will do my best to list
the entire contest info next turn.
I do want to address a point of concern that a few managers have brought to my
attention last turn. The point breaker system! After reading an email that Ghab
sent to me, Wasby and I have decided to make it fair for old and new teams alike. We
will take a "snap shot" of the first turn of the contest team records. Then in case
of a tie, we will calculate the highest win percentage since the first turn. That
team will be awarded the tie breaker. I want to thank Ghab for the idea and the rest
who addressed this issue for their concern. I hope this has made sense. If not, let
me know via email for a fairly quick response, or diplo me here in 52 and I will do
my best to make it understandable.

Questers!!!
The quest for the best to be found in Fratsfa looks to be heating up! Sorry for
my lack of vocalization thus far. I promise to increase my interaction with
everyone. As promised, the 25 bonus points have been added to the scores this turn.
What happened, Slugbait? If your spotlight didn't run and shows up this turn with
the infamous "Should have run last turn", we'll credit you with the pts. Then again,
considering your track record, maybe you don't need the 25 bonus points!
Round three of the contest saw Heathen jump out to an early lead with Crip and
Fangthayne hot on his heels! There is one thing I want to address though--the points
for most avoided team. Come on Questers, when Toker and I put in the scoring system,
we wanted the points to go to the team that actually was the most avoided. This is
an Andorian arena after all, but hey, just something I noticed.

The light of the sun was just fading when Muscle Bum arrived at the stockade.
He was just rounding the corner when he ran into two young men fighting in the alley.
Muscle Bum didn't pay much notice at first, but as he tried to pass, one of the young
men let out a loud cry of pain. The man fell to the ground holding his left knee.
Muscle Bum was quite impressed with the victor's last attack, so he stopped to
ask the young man a few questions.
"Well, my young friend, what is your name?" asked Muscle Bum.
To this the young man said with a smirk, "J 'Army' Moore. Why do you ask?"
"Oh just that I saw you fighting a moment ago and thought that you must be a
fighter in the arena."
To this the young man quite happily responded, but "No, not yet," came his
reply.
"Well, why not?" asked Muscle Bum.
The young man said that he could not find a manager that would look at him.
Muscle Bum thought about this for a minute, then having made up his mind that
this young man was going to be his next fighter, he said, "Would you be willing to
fight for me?"
The young man said that he really didn't care who he fought for so long as he
got the chance to prove himself on the sands. So, Muscle Bum gave him directions to
the Inn where they were staying and a note to "Stinky" to let the man sleep on the
floor.
He then went on to the stockade to see about "Gummy" and the third fighter for
his stable.
As he entered the office of the deputy he noticed that "Gummy" was in the cell
along with a rather tall man of such a dark complexion that he almost looked blue.
Muscle Bum thought that this was probably the ugliest person that he had ever seen,
but that didn't really matter at the moment.
There was only one guard on duty at the time, so he asked to speak to the
prisoner "Gummy" and the guard told him to go ahead but not to be too long about it.
"Well, it seems that you are in a tight spot this time 'Gummy'", said Muscle
Bum.
"Yes, but I'll find a way out of it. I always do, don't I?" said "Gummy".
"I might have a way out for you if you are willing to help me out also," said
Muscle Bum.
"Gummy" asked, "Well what do you have in mind this time?"
"Just a fight or two in the arena."
"Gummy" said, "You know I don't fight anymore."
To this Muscle Bum replied, "Oh, only in the streets, is that it? You are
wasting a very good talent you know. I guess I will just have to let the good deputy
know about that little thing back in North Fork and see if you can't be transferred
there. I am sure that I could use the reward money anyway."
"Gummy" said, "All right, all right. What is it that you want of me?"
"Well I need a fighter and a good one, so you're it." With that Muscle Bum
started to turn and speak with the jailer when the tall man in the back of the cell
called to him. Muscle Bum turned and asked, "What is it you want?"
The tall man replied that he was a fighter and would be willing to fight in his
stable if he would buy his freedom.
To this Muscle Bum decided, "What the hell." He could always get rid of him
later....

SPY REPORT
Greetings, warriors of FRATSFA! Once again I've been called out of retirement
for my abilities and insights into Spyreporting. Phhbltt! Too much drinking and too
little dodging gave DARK RAIDERS a 1-4-0! I got a good laugh out of it! Up 'n down.
Up 'n down. Rankings always change. Up 'n down. I think I'm gonna be... Well,
SPRINGBORNE FAIR's 3rd moved them up to 4-1-0 place. It seems so recently people
were saying OTTO'S PARTS was washed up, finished. But 4-1-0 moved them up 2. I
guess they're washed no more... Try as he might, VICIOUS wasn't good enough at
persuading COLLAPSED LUNG to step down from the Duelmaster's throne... Wouldn't it
be nice to have live subjects to practice on? I hear some team is looking into the
uses of convicted prisoners.
If at first you don't succeed, avoid. That'll get you in the Spyreports. How
well I know the feeling of being in the most avoided team! Don't fall out of
practive, ODIN'S CHOSEN! The bums at ICELANDERS couldn't face the challenges from
ODIN'S CHOSEN! No excuse for that! What do people see in GUTHHILD MIDWALL? Hers
4-1-1? ODIN'S CHOSEN ain't talkin', but she's got 39 points. HORRID HOLLY of FLOWER
GIRLS knows how to pick 'em. She challenged SHOCKER of LETHAL WEAPONS who is up by
20. Now was this a wise move? HORRID HOLLY perhaps got hers just desserts, seeing
as she won victory over SHOCKER and ended up with 92 recognition points.
There have been some calls to lengthen the time limit. Do you want the fighters
to walk away, or not? Yeah, yeah, SEVERITY killed SORROW, who was "too young to
die." Well, he was a fighter, and that's what you have to face. SER GREGOR CLEGANE
was plum wore out after HASKISON pounded 'im silly in a Bloodfeud. BRONZE KNIGHTS'll
have to get a little better before going after HASKISON again! Many a warrior has
met his fate in a hungover stupor. You young rapscallions, take note!
Many other cities have retirement homes for aged warriors. Any plans here? All
work and no play makes Olaf a dull fighter. Work and play no fighter dull Olaf.

HAMMER ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT
Be it known from the highest mountains to the darkest alleys of Alastari that
the veteran manager known far and wide as Hammer has now officially retired from
sponsoring contests as of September 15, 2005.
What a long time ago was a fun motivated activity to help promote our common
DM/D2 gaming interest in an effort to promote the growth and competitiveness of
selected arenas has become a far from fun experience.
In other words Hammer has had it!
The combination of real life situations interfering with the time needed to
effectively sponsor a contest, plus the attitudes expressed during such sponsorship
interference has led to Hammer closing his personal coin coffers and retiring from
his planned sponsorship of any future contests.
There are others in our close knit gaming community who are well able to step up
to the plate and continue sponsoring contests that make the basic game a fun
experience for all those who choose to compete and interact in such future endeavors.
Hammer thanks all managers both active and inactive who helped to make the
Hammer sponsored contests a historical and entertaining experience well worth the
time, effort and money spent over the past several years.
May the Cheers and the Jeers of future contests build upon the legacies of those
who have paved the way in years gone by to help make this game what it is today.
Hammer has no regrets for the part he has played in that history.
