barrier, and am back to defend the honour of the arena. And now I have surpassed the
17 political point barrier, so all I need to graduate from this place is 2 more

SPY REPORT
Hail and well met warriors of TROCAR! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp Eyes,
Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. Former top team ASIAN INVASION was
unseated this week as TRADERS OF TROCAR moved up from 2nd ranking to take the top
spot with a 2-3-0 record for the round. CHUN MING caught the eye of many in the
gladiatorial commission as she skillfully bested HAZZAN KAZZAR and was awarded 16
points in recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels, LAKE PATROL put down
MENG SI, causing him to lose 15 points of recognition in the process. Most watched
of the fights this week, the spotlight was on LEVANDAR as he bore arms against the
challenge of reigning Duelmaster YAHOO WAHOO. Although LEVANDAR made a valiant
effort, it did not suffice to topple the reign of victorious YAHOO WAHOO. Informants
"close" to the city champion have told me that he never fights without pantyhose on
beneath his armor. Watch out!
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city TROCAR. My inside sources tell me that the team to beat in TROCAR these
days is ASIAN INVASION. At least, most blades in town are looking to avoid them. If
you didn't look down dark alleys you'd have been hard pressed to find any of USELESS
TOOLS last week. Busy avoiding ASIAN INVASION? Loose talk at the arena has reached
my ears and it but confirms the knowledge that many fighters are after LEVANDAR.
Watch your back! Give VICTORIAN MANDARIN credit for its courage. Did you note how
it challenged DESERT PEARL despite the 30 point difference in their rankings? Do not
the gods reward courage? VICTORIAN MANDARIN it was that claimed victory in the bout,
while also rising 30 points in recognition.
What warrior does not hone his years, impatiently waiting for the moment of his
foe's mortality? Dark alleys may hide both secrets and assassins. In the arena
there is only the brightness of steel. Keep vigil always!
The girls are as pretty in TROCAR as ever I remembered them....and the fighters
as ugly! Don't let your reputation slip! Sadly warriors, now longer can I keep thy
company nor savor the ale of thy fine city. Depart I must and soon! Till next we

NAME CHANGE-O-RAMA
There was a line outside the Gladiatorial Commission's registry office. There
often was, but surely not now? Alarond the Scribe, who had drawn office duty today,
frowned at them.
A stocky, fit, moderately handsome gladiator stepped up to the counter. "I want a
name-change," he said. "How can I do my best known as," he shuddered, "'Dangling
Eyeball'? My name is Joe, and I want to use it."
A small and very shapely woman stepped up beside him. "And I am really tired of
being known as 'DA Bait'." She smiled, causing Alarond to sway where he stood. "I'd
like to be known as... Aphrodite, I think."
The others crowded forward, each advancing a claim, the babble of voice rising to
a roar, the crowd beginning to look like a mob--and every member of it armed and
dangerous.
Alarond raised his hands to quiet them, without much success. He raised his
voice, too. "We'll do it! A Name-Change-O-Rama, as soon as we can get the paperwork
lined up! Two or three months, maybe--"
The gladiators howled in protest at the delay.
"No, listen! The files here are HUGE, it will take time to get everything
straight. You've got to be patient. It WILL happen!"
