Notes from the arena champ.
Broken Toe, the wimpy gimp, or gimpy wimp if you prefer, yielded the Duel-2's
throne when I slapped his face (for not writing a column). It serves him right!
Besides his MANY other personal flaws, he's too tall, he wears a funny hat, and he's
in league with that awful caravan raider, Mila. This is NOT the kind of person we
want representing Rocanis! But, out of the goodness of my heart, which is
considerable, I have spared his worthless life so that other true gladiators here
will have the chance to beat him up.
And what are the odds that this column will provoke him to a replying personal?
Very, very poor, unfortunately, but I had to make the effort, just in case.
Sometimes long odds do come off.

Hail and well met warriors of ROCANIS! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp
Eyes, Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. JAVELINO caught the eye of many in
the gladiatorial commission as he skillfully bested STARLA KNIGHTMARE and was awarded
25 points in recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels, JAVELINO put down
STARLA KNIGHTMARE, causing her to lose 20 points of recognition in the process. The
city has turned out in honor of BROKEN TOE, for with his arena victory he may now lay
claim to the highest position in the city! No confirmation, but my sources claim
that the top team has gained their position using magical aids. Charmed weapons
perhaps?
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city ROCANIS.
Vendettas. Bloodied blades and broken spears. Indeed the city has seen more
than its fair share of red in recent times. Some say a warrior is judged by the way
he bears arms. One thing is sure, better a dagger in hand then a sword on the belt!

manager learn the secrets of them all? Sadly warriors, now longer can I keep thy

Did you know that if you trap a Mountain Goat on flat land, he goes crazy? Fact, and
a lot of fun to watch, too! The gladiator of that name spent most of the thirty-
seven seconds of our fight trying to jump up on the wall around the fighting floor,
and for a short guy (he's five-foot-eleven), he didn't do too badly. Of course, he
didn't do WELL either, since his efforts simply exposed him to my blows.... --

I want to know more about this Rocani Turncoat dude. What's with the name, for one
thing? Does he turn his coat inside out to prevent the spirits on Spirit Ridge from
"pixie leading" him? I understand this is the recommended procedure. Is it a
reversible coat, and he simply reversed it for variety? Or what, exactly, is the

It's easy to see why Javelino, a rude, crude porker of an oaf, is here in Rocanis,
city (by courtesy so called) of outcasts and ragtags. A six foot Dwarf? Probably
there's no place back home where he can stand up! But just the same, I wish he'd go

I am currently trying to put together a favorites chart for AD warriors. I
desperately need help with this. What I need are style, favorite rhythm (ex.:
hi/low), favorite weapons, and tactics. What would be great is if you could send me
a copy of the invite with the warrior's name, id#, and arena blacked out. This way,
I can verify that this is an actual warrior. Minis will work, too!
For those interested, I have both a challenge style vs. style and a match-up style
vs. style chart. There's about 250 fights calculated in these charts, and I'll be
