Hi!!!!!! I made it! Woo hoo hooooooo!!! I got my invitation to the Isle! In celebration, Mila let me change my strategy and even posted challenges for me! No surprise on the challenges, I'm tapping the only two Challenger Champs that aren't on my team, Mechanism and Kid Quick. The Commission gave me some numbers, which are: 11-16-10-10(+1)-17-10-11. They say I should use a quarterstaff, which I've never tried but I'm trying it now. And they say I should go right on being kinda scummy, so I will. I need to pick an arena. I may go to Home Guard, which Mila says will suit me pretty well. Most of my teammates are there. Well, it says on my invitation that I have land, but Khel Rojida says I only get that if I don't go to the Isle, and I'm going to the Isle. I don't know, if I go to the Isle do I at least get a little house of my own, or maybe a condo? That'd be nice. I'd like an apartment in downtown Talahya so I can see the city lights at night. I've never been to a city before. I'll have to give up my job with the Rocani Legion (we can't all commute like Mila). But it's been pretty quiet lately so I think they'll be all right without me. I'm going to the big city! Look out, Talahya! I am Hedgehog, hear me roar! SPY REPORT You elder fighters surely remember me. The younger ones may call me Olaf Modeen. I return to ROCANIS once again! What's with GLASS JOE? He actually beat REDHORSE's SHANKS PONY, and walked away with 19 more points from the fight. Major screwup at BAD APPLES. PRIVET lost 17 points to PRONGHRON. Some new strategies, perhaps? Maybe PRIVET will provide more easy wins... PUNCH-OUT!'s hatred of REDHORSE surfaced again as KID QUICK challenged ROCANIS' top dog. KID QUICK was reminded on the sands why HEDGEHOG is Duelmaster. Wouldn't it be nice to have live subjects to practice on? I hear some team is looking into the uses of convicted prisoners. Speaking of cowardly avoiders and unfair challenges... ROCANIS thinks REDHORSE and their 426-476-15 is too much! If at first you don't succeed, give up... Management must be dealin', as the boys at TOOLS OF TORMENT ain't reelin'! REDHORSE's mad! How well I know the feeling of being the most challenged warrior, BITTER VETCH! Don't make idle boasts, they may come back to haunt you. Fighting is a better craft than farming, BITTER VETCH, but you have to pay your dues. Being challenged by MECHANISM, 20 points above you, is dues. MECHANISM overcame BITTER VETCH. I bet MECHANISM could beat two-year-olds, too. Well, BAD APPLES knows who to set their sights on. A fighter's lot is filled with strife, revenge, and killing. Some fighters don't accept this. The best do. How long have I been here? I got people to see, places to go... Well, I'm pretty much through. You guys need to get back practicing. ROCANIS is a nice place to live, but I don't like to live in nice places. Remember--a good fighter needs both good skills and good luck. We seem to meet a lot, and you always get the best of it. Let's avoid each other. -- Bitter Vetch Pronghorn -- I saw one of your namesakes recently. It was prettier than you are, and more graceful. -- Large Dog P.S. And it RAN AWAY when I approached it, which you should consider. Yul -- Do you actually LIKE getting sunburned on your head? -- Privet Eats Grass -- Hah! That amulet the cultist sold me actually WORKS. Great! -- Rotten Core I drowned the Persistent Beggar in my bathtub. Seemed like a good use for the tub. -- Pieface Pronghorn -- (in a voice fat with satisfaction) Yeah. -- Rotten Core Yul -- Which one? -- Privet Current personals: Mechanism -- And if it isn't Machine, it's you. (sigh) -- Bitter Vetch Yul -- Ha! I'll give you "sore arms." Take that. -- Privet P.S. So my aim is rotten, sue me. Pronghorn -- Gosh, you sure did show HIM. I've never seen a head smashed like a melon before. -- Large Dog I think the Rabid Gopher should be listed as having the race of Mouse, that being the closest the Commission comes to a gopher. -- Pieface P.S. Those things can be dangerous, you know. Better to keep clear of 'em. Eats Grass -- That just seems like such a STRANGE thing to do. And you just go right on normally afterward, which is even stranger. I mean, when *I* eat grass, I throw up. -- Large Dog Hedgehog -- Congratulations. -- most of the Bad Apples Machine -- Wow! I'm sorry about those TWO groin hits. I was aiming for your arm. The second one happened because you were protecting your groin with your arm. You shouldn't do that. It's not a good fighting posture. Anyway, you showed me some cool tricks and I thank you for that. Hope you're feeling better. -- Shanks Pony Privet -- I didn't know I had a nerve cluster there, but you found one all right. (wincing) Nicely struck. -- Yul Bad Apples -- Oh, no! I did not mean to slay Rotten Core. Really, I wasn't aiming for his head. He was thrashing around on the ground and I... missed what I was aiming at. I'm truly sorry. -- Pronghorn Large Dog -- I scummed you. I guess I'm sorry; people don't seem to approve of that. Still, it's safer to be scummed than defeated by violence, especially considering what happened to R.C. We're all sorry about that. -- Eats Grass Kid Quick -- Heh, I scummed you too. Could be worse. At least I taught you a bunch of stuff. I may not know a lot, but I'm quite generous about sharing what I DO know. -- Hedgehog P.S. That Advanced Expert they gave me in parrying is the only rating the Commission has given me, so far. I suspect I may be quite close to suddenly getting Master rating in several other skills, though. P.P.S. Don't run in circles around someone who is scumming you. It only makes you dizzy. 27 June 2005 ATTENTION ALL YOU ALLIANCE-TYPE PEOPLE: For the purposes of tourney newsletter alliance listings (when I am able to do them), you may only be listed in ONE alliance. In other words, you have to choose! If you are a part of Englebert's Alliance and Englebert's Alliance is "part" of Ruthrauf's Alliance, I will list you EITHER as part of Englebert's Alliance OR as part of Ruthrauf's Alliance, NOT both. The default would be the top-level alliance, Ruthrauf's, in this example. If you'd rather be listed separately, let me know and I will do so, but that will be the only listing you get. -- The Saint, keeper of ever- more-complicated lists 29 Jun 2005 The Company of Brothers (TCB) welcomes two new members to our alliance...Liam the Goth and Buddy Lee. We have no doubt that they will prove to be assets to our alliance and the general dueling community. -- Baphomet, co-founder, T.C.B.
