Notes from the arena champ.
Hail gladiators of Rocanis!
The roll-up gods (RUGs) have allowed another opportunity to show my honor on the
sands. After last turn's match against DA1, which I as a little nervous to see, I can
safely declare the top total parry spot. My time in Rocanis is almost done and I'm
expecting an invite to the Isle of the Eye this turn. I was actually expecting it last
turn, but who knows the will of the RUGs.
Sergeant 5, the throne is waiting and I've left the seat nice and uncomfortably warm
for you since you've been away from the arena. While my record is a little daunting,
I'm not trying to kill my opponents anymore. I was expecting to cross swords before I
left. Maybe this turn, as I didn't make any challenges. After Sergeant 5, I suspect
Iota Draconis will be next, but I hope not, as he'll probably leave Rocanis shortly
afterwards with his invite. Jommy, therefore, I leave it up to you to keep team Draco
around as long as possible. I normally don't give styles away, but Iota Draconis is
a--wait, never mind, I see in the newsletter that you just matched against him. Now,
adjust your strategy and beat him!
I'll bid you farewell as it's now time for the Duelmaster's feast at Mylars. I
thought about moving it to the Wanton Troll, but Beulah insisted that everyone try
their new homemade brew; Mushroom Mead, which I suspect is refined from actual
mushrooms. Maybe orcs would like it, but a brew made from fungus, yuck!
In closing, I will leave my fellow gladiators with some words of encouragement.
Remember, each defeat in the arena is only a delay on the long road to becoming the
Duelmaster of Rocanis.

SPY REPORT
Good day, in ROCANIS a quiet thief gets rich, but a quiet spymaster gets poor.
So bring me ale and harken to my tidbits of news. The MEN OF STEEL guild has had a
3-1-0 turn and deserves to be watched in the future. You never know where this kind
of thing can lead. And let's see, MUD KING fought ANUSHA and gained 22 points and
contributed to MEN OF STEEL's 3-1-0. ANUSHA has lost to MUD KING, falling 16 points,
while helping make SKULL SQUADRON a 2-3-0 turn. The attempts to dethrone the
Duelmaster have failed, and MYTORI PRIEST remains ROCANIS' top warrior for another
turn. Can someone confirm a rumor for me? I hear the top team makes their losing
fighters do dishes at Mylar's until they win. Maybe?
Oriental wise man once say, 'Hiding behind shields prevents proper sun tanning.'
Inscrutable, but true. I also notice that the MEDAL OF HONOR A11 stable was the most
avoided team this turn. Come on ROCANIS, what are you afraid of? And guess who
avoided MEDAL OF HONOR A11 stable the most? Believe it or not, it was SKULL
SQUADRON. Anyone surprised?
The Dark Arena is for those who cannot win, not who cannot lose with grace.
Dignity in life or death is the warrior's creed. Will SKULL SQUADRON get away with
MYTORI PRIEST having killed OVECHKIN of MISSING TEETH? One more turn, and the
bloodfeud's over, at least officially. Is it really true that ROCANIS has more
dishwashers per capita that fighters? Just thought I'd ask...
Thought for the day, a new sword shines bright, but the notched sword sings the
sweetest. Always good to rest in ROCANIS, but never good to wear out my welcome.
