                                    TEAM SPOTLIGHT

The three members of the Skull Squadron stable, Rao, Cosh, and Targus, sat in
Mylar's tavern. They were sipping on their now warm beers and slowly eating their
meal of mutton, potatoes, and vegetables, which had gone cold over an hour ago.
Mylar, the owner, came up to the trio and asked, "Another round?"
Rao looked to his almost empty mug, as well as the others. He didn't necessarily
want another drink, but with the arena closed, going on a month, there was little to
do other than to eat, sleep, and.. enjoy lady companionship. Gold was also starting
to wane, not being paid for fighing in the arena. He wasn't sure how much longer this
could keep up.
Rao looked to Mylar, whose business was also hurting and not wanting to leave the
tavern yet, he nodded and raised his glass for another, as did the others. They
should be able to nurse them for another hour.
Anusha entered the tavern and stretched loudly. From her disheveled hair and
pillow marks on her face, it seemed she just got up, which made it early afternoon.
Spotting them, she came over, pulled out an empty chair, and sat.
The chair uttered an audible 'creak' in protest. Her face went red.
"Putting on some weight?" Cosh asked.
Anusha's eyes stared daggers and her fists balled.
Not wanting to get thrown out of Mylar's, Rao attempted to defuse the situation.
"We are all putting on weight just sitting around eating and drinking."
"How long are they going to keep the arena shut down? Every day that passes is
another day Bosh's death is unavenged," Cosh said.
Rao was glad for the temporary closing. He had learned from a very reliable
source that Mud King of the Men of Steel stable was much better than already known.
His ranking was grossly understated and fighting him would be at one's own peril.
Rumor had it that Mud King wasn't even in Rocanis and traveling to fight in a
tournament. Rao wasn't saddened by the news given he had the 'honor' of bloodfeuding
him.
"Everything is unknown. All Grimwood said was that there was an 'incident', the
gladiatorial arena in general needed an overhaul, and repairs needed. I saw some
Rocani bringing in fresh sand the other day," Targus said.
"There was a rumor a nasty Dark Arena monster got out and tore things up," Cosh
said.
"We can speculate all we want, but we won't know for sure until Khel Rojida, the
arena manager, makes an announcement," Anusha said shifting in her chair, which caused
it to 'creak' again. Her eyes flashed daring anyone to make a comment.
"Agreed, let's just hope it's soon," Rao said and continued to sip at his warm
beer.

                                      SPY REPORT

Welcome ROCANIS. I, Olaf Modeen remember this place well. Many the fights have
I fought here. The celebrations, the disappointments... What's with DEN HAMMER? He
actually beat ROCANIS' PERSISTENT BEGGAR, and walked away with 15 more points from
the fight. Laughs were big at MEN OF STEEL while they watched GREYLOCK clobber
STRYKEJERN. He lost 2 points and got bruised from objects thrown from the stands. I
can barely restrain my enthusiam for DRACO's outstanding member, Duelmaster IOTA
DRACONIS. I suppose you want to hear some rumors and dirty gossip about your fellow
fighters? Tough!
If at first you don't succeed, avoid. That'll get you in the Spyreports. The
most avoided team was MEDAL OF HONOR A11. Management must be dealin', as the boys at
SKULL SQUADRON ain't reelin'! MEDAL OF HONOR A11's mad! How well I know the feeling
of being the most challenged warrior, TARGUS! Don't make idle boasts, they may come
back to haunt you.
There have been some calls to lengthen the time limit. Do you want the fighters
to walk away, or not? Here's some advice: study your opponent, master many skills,
fight dirty.
Who knows what the future holds for a warrior. More fights, there's no doubt.
The end of another Spyreport! That's cause for celebration in my book! Time for my
medication, so I'll leave now. Practice, practice, practice!-- Olaf Modeen
