TEAM SPOTLIGHT
Hail gladiators of Rocanis!
Three turns as Duelmaster and as promised, a third Duelmaster's Column. Yet, the
much-feared turn 666 has finally arrived for Rocanis and it seems many gladiator
stables have decided to make themselves scarce. However, the few remaining have
already proven they have the mettle it takes to call themselves a true gladiator
stable of Rocanis!
Again, I didn't challenge anyone this turn, as I'm unsure if I could challenge
champions, so it'll be interesting to see which Men of Steel gladiator I match up
against. I did notice Mud King has finally arrived back to Rocanis, so in light of
this news, I want to thank my stable mate Rao in advance for running interference for
me.
Speaking of Men of Steel, I saw Hochopepa rolled the dice again with the Dark Arena
and it came up snake-eyes. I've learned it's wise not to play against Ahringol, the
God of the Dead, as it's rumored he has loaded dice. I was also surprised and
impressed that Greylock decided to follow his stablemate to the Dark Arena too, and
returned! Impressive, yet I'm a little worried (as the rest of the Men of Steel
stable, I suspect). Congratulations on your victory! I think?
Speaking of victory, it's time for the Duelmaster's feast at Mylar's. DA1, for
allowing me another turn as Duelmaster, I compromised with Mylar to waive your cover
charge, but just for the salad bar. Feel free to eat as much lettuce and fixings as
you'd like. He still said no to the rest of the buffet, as when you lose a fight, you
can really pack it away with comfort eating. However, I'm picking up the tab for
Greylock as returning from the Dark Arena is no small feat.
Finally, to my fellow gladiators, I will leave you all with some words of
encouragement. Remember, each defeat in the arena is only a delay on the long road
(or short in my case) to becoming the Duelmaster of Rocanis.

SPY REPORT
Well, what are you looking at, ROCANIS? Ain't you never seen Snide Clemens
before? Ah, shaddup and listen to my news. Of course, we're all terribly impressed
to see PANCAKES win a fight and gain 14 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, PANCAKES beat
BOSH and BOSH lost 8 points. You're breakin' my heart. And if variety is the spice
of life, ROCANIS may be getting bland, as ANUSHA stays top dog in the city. The Grub
& Rub Bar and Bistro, humph! I've tasted better ale at mortuaries. Where do they
get this stuff? From ROCANIS' trash dumps?
Well, let's take a look at some more misdeeds of you miserable sword-boys.
What's the big D? MEN OF STEEL was the most avoided team? Bunch of lily livered...
grumble... mumble... curse... And it looks like SKULL SQUADRON avoided them the most
this turn. What a pack of would be losers, if you ask me. Hmph. Ooh, I'm
frightfully impressed, PANCAKES was this turn's most challenged warrior. Watch that
ego swell, sports fans. Now look at this. RAO challenged down 17 against MEN OF
STEEL's GREYLOCK. What a weasel! RAO was beat by GREYLOCK! Ok, RAO want to fight
my grandmother next turn? Huh?
Ah, now we come to my favorite part, where we see all the guys who are dead and
gone, and get to see if their team cared. Ya gotta go sometime, and DA1's time was
this time. Hmmm, not a bad fighter, had he lived... (what? me pity?). I can't say
as I'm proud to find out that SKULL SQUADRON's ANUSHA has killed DA1 from MEN OF
STEEL. I can say I wish MEN OF STEEL good luck in their bloodfeud. Titanium shields
and bamboo daggers, guess what brave team is developing these kinds of weapons?
I was about to buy a new quill pen the other day, but some fighter took it for
an epee. Forgive me for writing with a dagger. Well, I've had enough of this
drivel, and I'm sure you have too. Off like a dirty shirt of padded leather. Paste
