Notes from the arena champ.
Well, this is certainly a pleasant surprise, and as per my most appropriate
name, I don't plan on moving anywhere else soon. Double avoid to the rug on the bald
guy.

SPY REPORT
Greetings, warriors of ILLIS! Once again I've been called out of retirement for
my abilities and insights into Spyreporting. Biff! Pow! ILLIS watched with glee as
KNIGHTS TEMPLAR got knocked off top spot by THE EXPLORERS! Some people say I ramble
too much, I don't say anything relevant. I repeat myself. I ramble. Well HANGOVERS
moved up 2, to 2nd. What's with KIRK? He actually beat ILLIS' EMBEZZLING SCRIBE,
and walked away with 20 more points from the fight. Laughs were big at IMPROVED
ILLUSION while they watched ANUBIS clobber ATTA-BOY. He lost 14 points and got
bruised from objects thrown from the stands. Another fighter (HOFFA WITH HAIR
13-0-0) challenged another Duelmaster (IMMOVEABLE OBJECT 16-5-0). Life goes on. I
can barely restrain my enthusiam for IMPROVED ILLUSION's outstanding member,
Duelmaster HOFFA WITH HAIR. Advice to fighters with a 1 will--give up fighting!
No matter the time or place, men will always duel. ILLIS thinks IMPROVED
ILLUSION and their 34-27-3 is too much! If at first you don't succeed, give up...
The bums at KNIGHTS TEMPLAR couldn't face the challenges from IMPROVED ILLUSION! No
excuse for that! What do people see in LUCIA? Hers 21-11-1? ISLANDERS ain't
talkin', but she's got 92 points.
Warriors of ILLIS unite. You have only your games to lose! EVANGELION larned
hers lesson (SIR PRANCELOT taught it well), and we right likely won't be seein' 'im
fight any KNIGHTS TEMPLAR members with the same gusto. MACAULIFFE was plum wore out
after SLIPPERY NIPPLE pounded 'im silly in a Bloodfeud. THE EXPLORERS'll have to get
a little better before going after SLIPPERY NIPPLE again! Many a warrior has met his
fate in a hungover stupor. You young rapscallions, take note!
Who knows what the future holds for a warrior. More fights, there's no doubt.
Are you as tired of reading this as I am of writing it? Actually, I guess I'm
writing it before you read it. Oh, well. I don't want to overstay my welcome...--
Olaf Modeen

PERSONAL ADS
Lucia -- That's twice in a row you've hosed me on skills. No more title shots for
you! -- Immoveable Object
Rogers -- I hope that was evidence to show me that I can handle the undefeated hairy
beast. -- Flaming Drambuie
Bali -- Care to recommend a weaponsmith? Or at least a boxing glove manufacturer. --
Ghastly Migraine
Macauliffe -- A warrior lacking the strength to use a Shortsword is obviously no
great loss, but we will look for revenge. -- Hangovers
Phantarque -- All depends on the individual warrior. Can't say that was the best
result, so the experimenting will continue. -- Crip
Improved Illusion -- Well, well, you challenged three of my stable and lost two
battles. Yeah, you killed Bla-Bla; and yes I'm pissed off. But you didn't get me
talking. I chose to on my own. I made five warriors so be prepared to be
bloodfeuded. But who first, second, etc. Hopefully I can get a few of my blood
matches off maybe a kill, before I'm shot down due to new policies here at S.C.I. --
Unforgiven
Sir Prancelot -- The phrase "no guts no glory" applies here. You will now be able to
tell your grandchildren that you survived a fight with the great "Buck Rogers." That
is more than your buddy HWH will be able to say. -- Rogers
Illis -- It's been six months since there has been a Duelmaster from another stable
other than The Explorers and yet I did not attain the throne. My manager can say
what he wants about the competition of this arena but you did manage to do that. --
Rogers
Frisbee & Phantom the mince -- Well all my old warriors are gone, when can I expect
this attack on my newbies or are you still hiding under a table somewhere? -- Kellog
Hangovers -- Slamming your Alabama gave me great joy, but I do wish that you people
would realize that you are putting your own lives in jeopardy when you challenge me.
-- Macauliffe
Evangelion -- Maybe when these bloodfeuds are over you and I should meet to find out
who is the most dangerous in Illis. -- Macauliffe
Ghastly Migraine -- Good thing I have ideas on how to deal with that! Take a couple
aspirin and don't call me in the morning. -- Bali
Immoveable Object -- I hate losing in the last four lines. Why couldn't you have
fallen down first? -- Lucia
Slippery Nipple -- Someone as slippery as you are ought to be female. -- Hamp
Sir Tipper -- Ah, good, good, another loss. Just what I needed, thanks. -- Duff
Anubis -- A dog is one thing, I like dogs. But I just can't feel friendly to a
jackal. Nothing personal, I don't suppose you chose to be a jackal, but there it is.
-- Slaker
Hoffa With Hair -- Try Brylcream, that might do the trick. -- Bali
P.S. A little dab'll do ya.
Evangelion -- It's good to have goals and meet them. I salute you! -- Slaker
Rogers -- If you come to Cyrsalis, I can probably manage to get active for a least a
fight or two so we can meet. Let me know. -- Bali
Ookazi -- If the stingy ol' arenamaster here would let me change strategy, I'd show
you what I can do with that kind of advice! -- Persistent Beggar
Anubis -- Pah! What do YOU know? -- Osksi Noble

ANNOUNCING THE RETURN OF STORMCROWE SLAUGHTERHOUSE
The last Stormcrowe Slaughterhouse was one of the closest and most exciting
contests ever held in Alastari. Such an epic demands a sequel. Therefore, Master
Darque and Jack Wolfspider are pleased to announce the return of the Stormcrowe
Slaughterhouse.
Where? Stormcrowe DM 45 (slow). When? The Slaughterhouse returns on Turn 207,
due August 19. How can you get into the action? Bring a team (one per entrant
please) to arena 45 and announce your intention to join the contest in the Personals.
Rules: This time around the rules are very simple. Each warrior win against a
higher rated opponent (one or more points higher in the ratings) brings you 10
points, against even rated opponent 7 points, lower rated 5 points. Wins against
NPCs or by a warrior who downchallenges are worth 0 points. Points are doubled for
kills. All warriors in the arena whether participating in the Slaughterhouse or not
are fair game. Points are totaled weekly, and the contestant whose team has racked
up the most points at the end of 10 turns is declared Slaughterhouse Champion.
Prizes: To be announced; we're still talking with RSI about it. Figure it will
be something pretty good. But hey, who needs prizes when the honor of being
Slaughterhouse Champion awaits!
More info: Master Darque, MasterDarqueDM@aol.com, or Jack Wolfspider,
russtulp@aol.com. Or diplo Darque Forces (428) or Dynastic (433) in Arena 45.
