DELARQ TOR! DELARQ TOR! DELARQ TOR! DELARQ TOR! DELARQ TOR! CHANTS FROM THE DEATH
FEST TAIL GATE PARTY REVELERS PRAISING HAMMER FOR NEGOTIATING the Re-Opening of
Delarq Tor DM 58 as a Slow Arena for the Death Fest Illis Iron Stable Award Winners
were becoming rather common these days; as Hammer and Gus the Troll made their rounds
in preparation for the upcoming Death Fest in DM 59 on T-172.
Hammer had secured many properties in the Illis Arena community the past several
months prior to announcing the Delarq Death Fest; most notably a sizeable property on
the outskirts of the city where he and his warrior companion Gus the Troll would
conduct a new business venture; with free advertising provided by the new
stable/gladiator names that Hammer would send out on the Death Fest sands.
Now it was time for Hammer and his long time friend to get down to the business
at hand of making the necessary preparations for the Opening Round of the Delarq
Death Fest; for it was the dawning of a new era in Delarq History for Illis Arena DM
59.

Attention Death Fest Competitors: Deathfest@yahoogroups.com is now available online
for anyone interested in receiving the DM 59 newsletter before it becomes available
on the website and/or just for exchanging Death Fest info or trash talk among those
who are interested in such things without cluttering up the RT and getting blamed for

                                      by Hammer

     "Next!"
The shifty-eyed manager stepped forward to the Delarq Death Fest registration
booth managed by one of Hammer's Helpers.
     "Stable Name?"
     "Rule Benderz!"
     "Managerial Alias?"
     "Rule Bender!"
     "Sign here please."
The manager known as Rule Bender signed the official paperwork registering his
Rule Benderz stable in the Delarq Death Fest.
"Think your stable has what it takes to win you the title of Death Fest
Dominator?"
Rule Bender studied the features of the veteran manager who had stepped into his
path with the Down Challenging question.
"We have what it takes to win!"
     "Do Not!"
     "Do So!"
     "Do Not!"
"We will settle this on the Death Fest sands!"

***** Obviously the above Sample Spotlight meets the "Letter of the Law" regarding a
15 paragraph Team Spotlight for the Opening Round of the Death Fest next cycle.
Afterall, the required Stable Name and Managerial Alias are included in the
short conversational 15 paragraph Sample Spotlight.
However, I am expecting MUCH MORE Substance and Entertainment to be included in
Your Minimum 15 paragraph Spotlights; and CLONES of This Spot will NOT be Counted for
25 Bonus Points!

                                      SPY REPORT

It's me, The Unknown Spymaster, back to give you this week's Spy Report. Sit
back in your seats and we'll have more fun than a barrel of Zontanis. Coming up with
a solid 3-2-1 outing, TEAM TOMORROW has advanced 3 places in the rankings. Hey
everybody, watch out for FEDIFENSOR, who flew up 21 points in the rankings after
mashing COOK like a melon. Keep your eye on this guy. And falling like a basher in
the top ten was COOK, who dropped 17 points after a disappointing (to say the least)
bout with FEDIFENSOR. Unlike most arenas, HOFFA WITH HAIR managed to get hers
challenge off against the 9-3-1 WIMPIRA. Well, everybody's pal HOFFA WITH HAIR moved
hers record to 16-2-0 by defeating WIMPIRA in the Duelmaster's Title Bout and gaining
5 recognition points. An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but an onion a day keeps
T.P.s at bay.
Here is other news that is of note. Here's a song for you: Who's afraid of the
big, bad THE EXPLORERS? Big bad THE EXPLORERS. Big bad THE EXPLORERS. ILLIS'
afraid of the big bad THE EXPLORERS. Tra la la la la! And you guys like to boo me?
Well, unsling your rasberries, cause AGELESS KNIGHTS beats feet every time THE
EXPLORERS smiles at them. Try farming, eh? Well just about everybody wants a piece
of WIMPIRA, who was this week's most challenged warrior. In a touching display by a
'touched' warrior, GLENN went after DUFF, who was higher by 22 points. Well, when
the dust settled, GLENN beat DUFF.
Remember that an arena is not always a safe place to be, but it is one of the
most interesting, though! There's got to be more reason for the sending of CHUCKLER
to the Dark Arena than his record (5-3-0). Anybody got any ideas AGELESS KNIGHTS?
Congrats to HOFFA WITH HAIR for revenging the death of hers teammate (but more
importantly, feeding WIMPIRA a bit of dirt). Knowing when to use the right tactics
at the proper time is a very important step on the road to Duelmaster.
Well, there's the manager of the ILLIS giving me the 'cut' sign (or is that
'They're going to strangle you in the alley?). C'mon, Leadfoot, let's make some
tracks. See ya next time I'm on this circuit!-- The Unknown Spymaster

Jorja -- Well, looks like someone started their death feasting a bit early. I will
be blood feuding as a moral imperative, but with the utmost honor. -- Phantasm

Frosted Flake -- Where did you go, little one? I wanted to pry the throne from your
cold dead hands. -- Phantasm

Hammer -- I always support alliance efforts to revive dead arenas. The Godfather
sends his regards and applauds your efforts. -- Phantasm

Wimpira -- The style advantage belongs to you, but I'm hoping FE can make up for it.
One of us will sit upon the throne next turn. -- HWH

Duff -- Are you trying to lose or are you actually putting forth an effort to win?
(I know effort is a relative term, especially in regards to your manager, but

enquiring minds want to know). Assur was trying to win with Job that is what makes
his record impressive (if you can use the word impressive with an 0-72 warrior). --
Phantasm

Slaker -- Someone mistakenly brought tomato juice into the arena. I'll have their
hide! -- Bloody Caesar

Jan Pearl -- Pearls of Wisdom? -- Wise old Wayne

Illis -- Looks like a couple of Tourney Preppers may have moved in last cycle. Next
cycle is the Big One! -- Hammer

Phantasm -- Congratulations on your achievement by HOFFA WITH HAIR and welcome to the
Pre Dawn of Death Fest! -- Hammer

Captain Crayola -- We pray for your return to Illis and Wayne's full recovery! --

Kellog -- Your absence in both Illis and Niytyole Island is conspicuous! May it be
well with you in the Real World! -- Hammer

Evangelion -- Ah, very good! Thanks for the loss. -- Duff

Anubis -- Oops. I didn't actually intend that. (sigh) But it happened. I'll be
here for your teammates. -- Wimpira
P.S. Still, you should be right at home amongst the dead, shouldn't you?
P.P.S. You were not wearing armor! That was dumb.

Bloody Caesar -- This is some kind of plot, isn't it? You come out with no armor and
DIE, and it's all a PLOT. Somebody out there KNEW we were thinking of going inactive
next turn, and you wanted us to hang around, and you stuck us with all these
BLOODFEUDS. I hate it when people do that. Couldn't you have died to somebody ELSE?
-- Slaker

H'Umi -- H'you're h'an h'illusion? Gosh. -- Ammer Ead

Wise Old Wayne -- (crossly) So the only way we can avoid killing is by losing? I
don't care for that. -- Jan Pearl

Hammer -- Yep. Although here (and in all Delarquan arenas) I go by Nick.

16 June 2004
                             Death Fest Begins July 29/DM 59 T-172

"You drive a hard bargain Hammer," responded Lord Lian Ki Na-Sul, "but the
Gladiatorial Commission has agreed to re-open DM 58 Delarq Tor as a Slow Arena
exclusively for a period of six months to those Death Fest contestants who fight
their stables at least 67 times out of a possible 75 during the 15 rounds of Death
Fest; on the condition that at least 20 stables qualify for the Illis Iron Stable
Award at the conclusion of the Death Fest and those qualifying managers send a New
Stable to DM 58 Delarq Tor without Cannibalizing their participation in the other
arenas where they have active stables!"
Hammer felt a certain sense of satisfaction as he studied the ghoulish grin
spreading across the face of Lord Lian Ki Na-Sul; proud Arena Master of the once
dying Illis Arena, as the DM 59 Arena Authority signed the Gladiatorial Commission
papers authenticating the arrangement agreed upon by the two parties presiding.
"You and the Gladiatorial Commission also drive a hard bargain," Hammer replied
as he reflected upon the prospects of Delarq Tor DM 58 being re-opened as a Slow
Arena with at least 20 New Stables by the Managers who fight their stables at least
67 times out of a possible 75 during the 15 rounds of Death Fest. "I also notice the
clause that for Delarq Tor to be open Exclusively for 6 months to the New Stables
managed by the Illis Iron Stable Award Winners that there must be at least 15 stables
Active each cycle. That is a fair bargain for the opportunity to battle for the
Duelmaster Throne each of those six months before Other New Stables are allowed to
enter Delarq Tor."
This was a Golden Opportunity for both Veteran and Newbie Managers to pave a new
frontier of Delarq history by qualifying their Death Fest stables in DM 59 with 67
fights out of a possible 75; then for the price of running a stable in a Regular
Arena, continuing to be Active in DM 59 and sending a New Team Roll Up to be a part
of "History in the Making" when Delarq Tor would re-open for its First Turn as a Slow
Arena on November 3rd, 2005.
Death Fest would conclude on T-186 August 25th, 2005 allowing the Illis Iron
Stable Award Winners enough time to be registered with the Gladiatorial Commission;
whereupon they would be able to submit a New Team Roll Up to the GC to start a New
Stable in Delarq Tor; be able to fight those New Gladiators in the Rookies 2005 Fall
Mailer Tourney; then begin competing for the DM 58 Duelmasters Throne in Delarq Tor
right out of the gate with the November 3rd 2005 T-1 Debut Opening Round.
Hammer of the First Part had also negotiated with Lord Na-Zul of the Second Part
an agreement that All 10 Dark Arena Monsters and 17 NPCs Characters be re-named by
the Top Ten Death Fest Finishers. [See DM 59 T-171 Newsletter Team Spotlight by
Hammer for the complete listing of Dark Arena Monsters/NPCs and the Official Death
Fest Designation for which Top Ten Finishers re-name which characters!]
Lord Na-Sul could not hide his delight at the prospects of Death being re-
delivered to his once dying arena during the Delarq Death Fest; the DM 59 Arena
Master agreed that these Death Fest Prizes were but a Small Exchange in Comparison to
the Profits to be made by the local Illis business merchants and surrounding
community from the Anticipated Influx into Illis by the Veteran and Newbie
Managers/Gladiators/Stables seeking to make History in the Delarq Death Fest.
Nor could Hammer conceal his jubilation regarding the Call Across Alistari being
Answered to Cross Blades and Match Wits with the Devious, the Diabolical, the
Dangerous and the Down Challenging who were being drawn to the Delarq Death Fest to
Fulfill their Delarq Dueling Destiny!
REMEMBER: Death Fest begins July 29th T-172 with 25 points being awarded to
those who write a minimum 15 paragraph Team Spotlight [including Stable Name &
Managerial Alias in the Storyline!] for the DM 59 T-172 Newsletter [So Make Sure HAL
