Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! -- Psalms 59:5 Amplified Bible HAMMER READ THE EMAIL WITH GRIM SATISFACTION at the news that the Gladiatorial Commission had begun receiving his payments from afar and would be reactivating his stables in DM 28 and DM 59 as requested in Good Faith! After 3 rounds of inactivity in the Death Fest, Hammer was beginning to lose touch with the pulse beat of the competition in DM 59; in spite of reading the newsletters online to keep track of the Death Fest competitors. Only by crossing blades with the competitors in DM 59 would Hammer once again feel the thrill of what the Death Fest had been intended to be when the contest was first birthed in his mind! Hammer had considered retiring from the arena life after all his stables had been deactivated by the Gladiatorial Commission, but the lure of competition and the camaraderie that had been so painstakingly forged with many of the active and inactive managers over the years still drew the Veteran Manager to once again make his presence known throughout the realm of Alastari. Friends and Friendly Foes meant more to Hammer than just relegating them to become all but forgotten memories of the past. A steady stream of finances had begun to flow into Hammer's coffers and the interest of discovering whether or not his gladiators would be able to fight their way to Graduation in several different arenas was too much of a stimulant to ignore. Hammer still had an interest in the dozen plus Rippers scattered throughout his inactive and deactivated stables; now was the time to set a master plan into motion to activate some of his all but forgotten stables to see how those Rippers would fare against the gladiators of a more recent design by the managers currently active throughout Alastari. Not all of the Rippers would be activated in the next few months. It would be prudent to save a handful of them for future amusement. Besides, there were some arenas that Hammer was interested in sending new stables to compete in; therefore, a request had been issued to the Gladiatorial Commission for new stable forms to be sent to Hammer in exchange for some of the Gold Coins that had been sent to the GC to wipe out the debt of past battles on the sands of Alastari. Hammer would spend the next few months acquiring specific new stable forms that would best suit his interests for launching new stables in North Fork and Arkers; as soon as the stables most tailored to his projected interests in those arenas manifested to him. Finding a stable well suited for competing in Delarq Tor whenever the new slow arena was opened for competition was also on Hammer's agenda for Autumn 2005. Mordant, Talcama and Jhans were also in the Autumn 2005 plans that Hammer was devising for competing in some Delarq regular arenas that the Veteran Manager had not ventured into in his 7+ years of activity in the Alastari arenas. There was also a spark of interest within Hammer to reactivate his stable in Jhelum as well in Autumn 2005. Hammer knew it would take a combination of discipline and sacrifice to accomplish these goals over the next several months. Specifically, it would demand a personal boycott of competing in the annual Tempe Face 2 Face Tourney. Hammer could readily locate a trustworthy manager to Proxy some of his selected warriors, but Hammer historically would send more gladiators to the Facer and Mailer Tourneys than he would originally plan on sending. Hammer knew that if he were to be able to lay the proper financial foundation for expanding his interests in several arenas by the end of the 2005 fiscal year, that it would require and demand a personal boycott of the Tempe Facer. Ignoring the Temptation to Compete in the Blood Games and sending 10 to 20+ gladiators to the Tempe Facer was essential for Hammer's master plan for competing in several slow and regular arenas by the end of the 2005 year to succeed as projected! Financial Restraint was Imperative! Especially since Hammer was first and foremost including deposits to his Gladiatorial Commission account to pay the expenses of the Prize payments for DM 28 and DM 59 that had already been committed to the Madness and Death Fest contests! Hammer also realized that during the coming summer months of 2005 it would also require cutting back on the number of active stables from those arenas where Hammer would be activating and reactivating stables in the next 60 to 90 days! Alarming News had also been Discovered from Niytyole Island where Hammer had spent so many months, nay years, helping to develop DM 33 into a strong and competitive arena in his early years as a Newbie Manager. Early November had witnessed the demise of Niytyole Island to a mere 2 active stables and 3 inactive stables. Hammer was now forced to reactivate his CASINO HAMMERZ ahead of schedule in hopes that his beloved Niytyole Island would be spared the embarrassment of being closed by the Gladiatorial Commission as had befallen other arenas in recent years! There was no indication at the present time that DM 33 would possibly be closed, but the lack of P-ads and only 2 active stables was a sure sign of Danger to Hammer! Not even Jorja had an active stable in DM 33 which also concerned Hammer! If Niytyole Island were to be spared the humiliation of a Forced Closure, then Hammer would have to send his CASINO HAMMERZ stable to DM 33 post haste! In the event that Niytyole Island was to be closed by the Gladiatorial Commission, there was already a plan forming in the mind of Hammer as to where to transfer his stable should such an ignominious event befall his beloved DM 33 in the near future! Hammer Just Did NOT have it Within Himself at the Present Time to Devise and Launch a Hammer 500 Contest to Revive Niytyole Island from Certain Extinction! Only Time Would Tell for Certain! HAMMER TURNED HIS ATTENTION ELSEWHERE as he selected several more Gold Coins to send by special courier to the Gladiatorial Commission. Now the time had come for AXE ILLIS HAMMERZ to be reactivated and Hammer would savor every account of the battle reports arriving from overseas in future cycles. Goat was there as were Toker and Wasby the Great. They were all laughing hysterically at Baphomet. It turned out that Firehawk had become furious with Maruin's artwork and since it had been signed Baphomet, one can imagine how things had been here in Cartelville for him. Baphomet spoke, "Come on guys; that wasn't funny." His statement was followed by renewed laughter from the others. Marvin entered the room and made his report. "Sire, 14 managers showed up for dinner at Kat's, his coffers were completely emptied." Everyone in the room including Baphomet laughed heartily. Marvin continued, "Bobby Bigfoot hired a gang of thugs to thank Slaughter-Priest for the roses. They say Slaughter Priest may recover by next week." Bapohmet and Toker almost fell over they laughed so hard. The others chuckled as well. Nostradomus rubbed his palms together as he outlined his plans for a burglary of the local C.H.O.I.R. Marvin turned red, jumped up and down, screaming, "I won't do it!" "Yes you will," responded Nostradomus. "Remember your promise!" Marvin hung his head in dejection and began to snivel. "Damned promises. Damned oath. Damned sister!" as he walked out of the room. The others, not knowing the arrangement between Marvin and Nostradomus were perplexed by this exchange. Marvin crept through the streets of Illis, now referred to by Nostradomus as Cartelville. He was waiting for the C.H.O.I.R. to close. It was after 3:00 am before the last patron left and another 30 minutes before the bartender locked up and left. Marvin clutched his goody bag and approached the door as he cursed both Nostradomus and his sister. Why did she every dally with--oh never mind. He had work to do. The device that Nostradomus had given him easily opened the door and Marvin slipped inside. His first stop was Hammer's private bar, where he replaced two bottles of fine Andorian wine with the two bottles of yaks' urine that he had brought. The bottles looked identical. Nostradomus had most certainly done his homework here. Marvin placed the wine in his bag as he made his way to the mens' room. Once there he placed two water moccasins in the bidet that he found there. How strange. Marvin had never even seen a bidet before, much less one in a men's room. Marvin then began to search for the trophy room. He was to take the painting of a lady from there. After much searching and many wrong doors, Marvin finally located his goal. There was a problem though, the painting on the wall there was of Master Darque and two wildebeest that he had slain. Marvin became frantic. Nostradomus would not be pleased. This just would not do. Then behind the divan he saw a large sheet covered object. Marvin removed the sheet to reveal an eight foot by four painting of a woman. Marvin was distraught. He stood just a tad over five feet and this was going to be a nightmare moving this painting, much less carrying it almost a mile to Nostradomus's chamber. It was near dawn before Marvin arrived back at the chamber. He was exhausted. He lay down on the floor and slept, not even looking at the painting. Marvin was awakened several hours later by laughter. He quickly bolted to his feet to see all laughing hysterically. They had stood up the painting and were gathered around it. Marvin saw that the painting was not of a woman at all, but of Maximillian wearing a fancy blue dress. He also began to laugh. * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * While Toker sat by the fire in his private chambers of the VINCERE AUT MORI guildhouse, wondering how his warriors were doing in other arenas. Foremost on his mind though, was the poor showing of his warriors in Illis. He called for his Andorian slave to bring him his sparkle wine and smoking pipe. When the slave was leaving Toker called to him. "Send Morik and tell him to be quick about it." The slave left in a hurry and in less than a minute Morik entered the smoke filled chambers of his master. "Morik, can you tell me why my warriors lost so badly this turn? Dedalus was the only win and Bottom Feeder didn't even fight." Morik shifted around uneasily back and forth under the steady gaze of his master. "Boss, we both told them all what we expected of them and how to handle their opposition. A The Bold fought like she was drunk. Respen Niale thought he could be cute and win with the wrong weapon, and get this, Caluis was so sure that he was to fight M.S. Atnahp in a Bloodfeud that he didn't prepare for anyone else. "We couldn't foretell that Baphomet would hold all his warriors out of the arena this turn. So when Calius found himself across the sands from Trefot he was totally unprepared and was killed for it." Toker sat back once again and puffed on his pipe while he thought about what Morik had said. "Why was it that Bottom Feeder didn't fight? I know that we entered him in the fights," said Toker. Morik started with a stutter for he knew his master would be enraged after he told him the reason. "There was a problem with his paperwork. It was lost before the fight." "Well Morik, my friend, I have learned a lesson this day and it will stay with me the rest of my career! I will let you know what punishments to dole out to our warriors for their failures." "Also Morik, on your way out would you be so kind as to find our lowest slave and tell him to go by the Axe Illis hammerz guildhouse and tell Hammer personally that if he petitions to Vendett@United that we will loan him the funds to pay off his creditors and the Gladiatorial Commission so that we will be able blades and not because his guild and alliance is so poor he can't afford to fight!" As Morik hurried out of the room he heard Toker yell to him, "And Morik make sure that message is given verbatim; your life depends on it!" With the enjoyment of telling tales, and many to come. Toker, mgr. Vincere Aut Mori * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * The mood was not at all light in the Soulforge guildhouse. In the common room warriors sat, feeling the dead quiet of tension so thick it could almost be touched. Wasby was in an extremely foul temper as judged by the silence from his study. All was not well as Wasby thought on what to do about his team's performance in the arena last turn. The door to the study suddenly crashed open as Wasby stepped into the hall. "Where is Fredredo?" asked Wasby Fredredo was the sole advisor and aide to Wasby. "I think he went to buy some of that Tabac you like," said Log. "And Arutha? I have need of him," replied Wasby. Cyndane looked up from over a small mirror she was gazing into. "I think he went to hunt or something. I don't know why. I'm all the catch he needs." The left hand of Wasby moved in a quick, intricate gesture. Cyndane was frozen in place, helpless. She was only able to move her eyes to follow him. "Be silent with your comments of lust. Feel lucky that you still have the good looks of a human after your performance. Now listen, since neither Fredredo or Arutha are here. It will have to be you." Wasby crossed the room and sat at the bar and poured himself a drink then loaded his pipe before continuing. "Since I seem to have made instant enemies here it may be time to set a course of action. I will contact a couple of old friends and invite them to join me here in Illis. This is just their type of game." "I want you, Cyndane, to visit in turn the guildhouses of Vincere Aut Mori, Vendetta Inc and Team Tomorrow. Best you don't take longer than necessary at any place taking your pleasure either. This is what I want to tell my friends Goat, Nostradomus and General Toker." "Tell them I have contacted..." At that moment Wasby was interrupted by Fredredo who crashed through the door pointing outside. "Master, there is an unconscious man lying near the front door. He reeks of death and pestilence." "Well," replied Wasby, "let us dispose of this interruption then. Show me. Feral, come." He and Feral followed Fredredo outside. They returned a few minutes later, with Feral carrying a man over his shoulder. Arutha walked in behind them. "Who is it?" asked Arutha. "This is a friend of mine, a man who puts fear into the mightiest warrior. This is Dok Sik. Cursed to walk the land carrying any and all calamities known to man. With the power to inflict any he chooses with a mere touch." Wasby gestured to a chair as he talked. "Don't worry, I can protect against this, but he must be here for the Deathfest. He loves such contests, taking pleasure in each kill. A fighter of great skill, Dok Sik, he must have pupils close by." Just then, Dok Sik awoke and rose to his feet. He shook Wasby's hand and gestured to a back room. "Good to see you, let's kill," came the calm voice of Dok Sik. "Yes," smiled Wasby, "let us discuss the situation here in my study. Fredredo, Arutha, come. Cyndance, run get Goat, General Toker, and Nostradomus. Dok Sik is here." SPY REPORT Like the magnificent Sun, rising upon the Dawn and exiling the Night for a Day, I, Novgorodny Vir, return once again! Nothing works for a team like victory (How's that for a perceptive observation?) as THE EXPLORERS can attest... ILL AVENGERS posted a nice gain, to come in 9th. Everybody loves a winner... I doubt many are quaking in their boots, but DOK SIK KILLAS comes out of nowhere to get 3-2-1. What does the future hold? Watch this space... SHADOWLAND had cause to celebrate, after PLAGUEBEARER got 48 points by beating COOK. Win some, lose some. Speaking of which, IRMINSUL was winsome, after beating MALLORY and seeing her lose 20 points. DUFF found out that ILLIS isn't a democracy. You've gotta be the best to be Duelmaster here! So who was the warrior seen charging into immovable walls and challenging dead trees? Someone's got a basic problem... So much to report, so little time! Like a horde of jackals fleeing from the lion, so did the "warriors" in ILLIS avoid CHAPEL ROCK. As a woman of good breeding scorns the "warriors" of HELTER SKELTER, so did that sorry team shy from CHAPEL ROCK Is it charming personality? Conversational abilities? Good oral hygiene? Whatever it is, ANITA COY is the most challenged warrior. Call 'im brash! Call 'im brassy! Call 'im brave! Call 'im sassy! EVANGELION will face SVAD BONEGRIN, up by 27. Aaaah, just call 'im dead meat. If EVANGELION had won victory over SVAD BONEGRIN, she'd be a hero, but since she lost we just laugh at her. Tough break. Take heed ILLIS, of the unprincipled action of PISTONS MCGUIRE. By challenging UMI, 16 points below it, PISTONS MCGUIRE besmirches the noble art of dueling. Bookies and PISTONS MCGUIRE were more than a little surprised, as UMI snatched an easy victory from PISTONS MCGUIRE, gaining 20 points. LONDON QUIREBOY found himself challenged by a warrior 21 below: OOKAZI. OOKAZI of IMPROVED ILLUSION kept his wits as he bested LONDON QUIREBOY. Willing to win at any cost is CORSAIR, who challenged KATATONIA, 14 points junior. Our sympathies, KATATONIA! I thought CORSAIR showed great skill and promise when he won victory over KATATONIA. All right, so I slept through it! Big deal! The moving sword slashes, and having slashed, moves on... Never one to advocate diplomacy and restraint, I was pleased to see VINCERE AUT MORI retaliate against REVENGE in bloodfeud! Questions are being raised about the disposing of severed body parts in the arena. A certain tavern in ILLIS would I avoid! All good things must come to an end. As if buffeted by forces of nature beyond my control, I must take my leave of this place. Can anything compare to the pleasure of writing Spyreports for ILLIS? Thankfully my wife's stable was still active in DM 28 and the Gladiatorial Commission forwarded it to me in her newsletter packet! Since my current job overseas is requiring TONS of paperwork during my scheduled vacations, it will probably be about a year or so before I am able to complete the Style Masters Symposium! Previous contributions are scattered around on floppy disks and of course I have to type yours as well. I plan to run another All Arena Ad in the next few weeks to solicit any new contributions and to update those who are interested. I have yet to write any articles for the aforementioned work in progress. Have several articles from Jorja/Scribe/Livia/ Judith and another from a Newbie Manager who sent me an article via Email a few weeks after the All Arena Ad first appeared throughout Alastari. As previously stated, my overseas job is consuming my vacation time; however, I should be able to begin writing my articles and compiling the articles the end of January when my vacation at that time is projected to be free from any School Publication writing or School Newsletter compilations as it currently is for my November and December vacations! -- Hammer/Vendetta Cartel Captain; WordSmith and WeaponSmith of the Vendetta Cartel Tarantula Tribe in DM 28 P.S. Funds have been forwarded to the Gladiatorial Commission and soon my friends and friendly foes will again be able to cross blades with my various HAMMERZ stables in select arenas throughout Alastari on a more consistent basis! P.P.S. Late yesterday afternoon after writing this P-ad and PS [Sunday, November 14, 2004] I was inspired to search for the articles that had been copied and pasted to several disks. My efforts were rewarded with grouping all the Style Master Symposium articles on one centrally located floppy disk. Then I took the time to type your Tank Lunger article and saved it to the central disk as well. However, the time frame for the Hand Book remains the same as mentioned above. I do look forward to receiving your Charts that you mentioned in your Diplo with the Tank Lunger article that you sent. Phantasm -- Thanks for pointing out my mistake of crediting your stable with a Kill last cycle! Appreciate Your Sportsmanship! -- Hammer/Your Death Fest Host Death Fest Fanatics -- My apologies for my mistake last cycle as mentioned to Phantasm! Adjustments have been made in this cycle's standings to reflect who should have been listed in last cycle's Death Fest Standings position rankings! -- Hammer/Your Death Fest Host and Official Score Keeper Goat -- Congratulations on your 2 Kills and rise to third place in the Death Fest Standings! -- Hammer/Your Death Fest Host Death Fest Fanatics -- A Ton of Paperwork overseas prevented me from sending the Death Fest Standings to the Deathfest@yahoogroups.com until the last possible minute. In fact, any time, if I can win each time. -- Slaker Cook -- Got really good sauerkraut, do you? And fine, chewy, dark rye bread? Okay, I will. Thanks. -- Duff Hammer -- A spot is unlikely. The general policy is "no house spots in contest newsletters," because they're already full of contest statistics. Besides, you want one in Morya, right? Can't have 'em in both places! -- Nick P.S. Well, probably not, anyway. I'll see how the rest of the day's arenas go. Log -- Hof course it his! Finest kind. -- Ammer Ead Vendetta Inc. -- Regarding the armor and the "death fest": First, you can't kill if you don't win. So the warriors have to win. And then, you can't win if you die. So they have to stay alive. Hence the armor, because everyone really IS out to get 'em! -- Nick, just making a guess here All -- I prophecy, he's c-o-m-i-n-g! -- Nostradomus All -- Alas, Ezekiel has left the building. -- Nostradomus Hammer -- Do you keep score by Cartel New Math? You have me -5 for the turn! One win +2, 4 losses -4. That should equal -2! What happened to the other 3 points? Did Maximillian eat them? -- Nostradomus Maximillian -- I guess you use Cartel New Math as well. You have the gall to tell the great Wasby (who is affiliated with vendett@united) that we are easy targets and our warriors are puds. Well, both myself and Goat are ranked ahead of any Cartel members! -- Nostradomus Goat -- I bet probably that we will not see CFH in DII for a year or more! You lead here and ABRAXIS will lead in Free Blade Arenas. -- Nostradomus Wasby -- Consider us aligned! -- Nostradomus Toker -- Consider us aligned! -- Nostradomus Baphomet -- Took to the diplo! -- Nostradomus Nostradomus -- It seems that newbies such as we are unable to get challenges accepted. But don't fret, I'll gladly share the target. I don't let friends battle alone. -- Wasby the Great Goat -- Nice turn; wish I could say the same for Soulforge. Dok Sik just showed up at the Soulforge guildhouse. He's backing any action needed against Vendett@United enemies. -- Wasby the Great Toker -- Drinks on you huh? Make mine a double. I need it. -- Wasby the Great Hammer/Death Fest Host -- Does hosting a Death Fest mean that you can't participate? Maybe if you showed a little more of your panties (pink thongs?) you wouldn't have a shortage of coin. Come down to the Soulforge guildhouse and we'll see what can be arranged. Make sure that your legs are shaved, okay. -- Dueling Disciple/Wasby the Great Vendetta Cartel Members -- Do you hear it? It's the sound of inevitability. When your knees touch the ground don't forget to whimper. It's soooo cute. -- Wasby the Great for Vendett@united Maximillian -- Is your reference to the shower due to a shortage of your maxis? Your name implies that you have millians. But please, kill my warriors if you can (judging by Natural B. Killers total--unlikely) so someone from the reeaaal Vendetta Cartel will enlighten me. -- Wasby the Great Wasby -- Detail is the key to a warrior's wins. Stay on track. Skills learned will soon help. I did not see anything wrong with your styles. You correctly created them, I think.... -- Goat Toker -- After the smoke clears (cough, cough) and munchies are passed around, you will see that you won't need Daddy Long Legs extra points to beat his spiderlings. I also think you would learn more by challenging some of the better managers like "Crip", "Kellog" and Rascally Rabbit. Just remember a diplo can never hurt for that extra info that you can usually get with a fair exchange. Take it easy on them Cartel duds. All right. Quit being a boat and pass it on. -- Goat Maximillian -- Some things are left better unsaid! I hoped your warrior "Mallory" killed "Gereon." Alas you did not quite live up to your name which to me is an oxymoron. 18 fights and no kills. Of course this only reflects on whoever sponsored you for the Cartel. I can only support your action in asking for any info send it my way. I sure will use it when I run TPs. I sent a challenge up to "Mallory". Good luck. good hunting. -- Goat Vincere Aut Mor -- Unexpected turn of events. I have already secured a parcel of land for "Calius" parents. Some of Hammer's land holdings came up for back taxes. A horn is raised. -- Vendetta Inc Katerpillar -- Would have liked to see your wing colors. -- Gereon Happy Puppy -- Nice try with the tactic. Thanks for the skills. -- Fly Fot Mikayla Bloodwitch -- Your spell almost held me. You taught very well. Maybe a private lesson? -- Irminsul Peter Rabbit -- What hat did you come out of? Nice fight on your part. Just sick on mine. -- Black Sun Hammer -- Unlike you, I have no mercy for your hebephrenia. Your nescience has reserved you a sharpened pole on "Vendett@united's" field of ostracism. -- Goat Vendetta United -- Welcome our newest probate "Dok Sik." Extend to him a "united" party. May our lives be long; our enemy's short and full of pain. -- Goat All -- The Doktor brings a new rew to the arena to welcome anyone who wishes to challenge death. -- Dok Sik Hammer -- Would you enter my stable of Dok Sik Killas into the Deathfest Contest, NOW. -- Dok Sik Goat -- I would like to have a meeting set up about joining Vendett@United. -- Dok Sik M.S. Atnahp -- Coming back in the next three turns or no? My bloodfeud will be waiting! -- Toker Brana Gorefang -- Does this mean that you do not return my affections?? -- Bottom Feeder Maximillian -- Smoke appears everywhere!! -- Toker Trefot -- You unexpectedly slew Caluis. Good job at making it look easy. You are strong! -- Toker Anita Coy -- Kudos, you surprised me and my warrior. Well fought! -- Toker Golgaset -- I will see you again! -- Respen Nialio Hammer -- I understand your reasoning behind not granting my stable the bonus points; however it has one flaw. It was misfiled at RSI and didn't get printed until (2) two turns later! After your whining and mis-statements on the last HAMMERZ HERALD, I've come to expect this from our DEATH FEST HOST! You can play your games and try to be witty with that glib tongue of yours, but we all know the truth behind the cowardice of you and your cartel members!!! FEAR! So you can keep your bonus. I won't need the points anyway, with all the kills I'm going to get off your stable after you stop hiding behind the excuse of insufficient funds! Send one of your broke house members to our guildhouse and we might send some gold to fill your coffers. We at VENDETT@UNITED often loan lesser guilds and alliances gold so that we can slay them, instead of always just listening to the sewage that spews from their mouths!!!!! -- Toker of VENDETT@UNITED P.S. I will be challenging you every chance I get. Vendetta Cartel -- We know how you treat your alliance members. With a smile to their face and a stab in the back!!! -- VENDETT@UNITED 22 October 2004 Youngblood's Three and Out Contest I would like to take this time to announce and invite all managers to compete in what I think will be an awesome contest. If you haven't ever TC'd at a tourney before, here is your chance. The contest will start Wednesday, December 1, 2004, but a chance will be given November 17 to dark arena, only, any warrior that you do not see fit to run in the contest. So now that I have your attention, here are the rules (like you didn't know they were coming sooner or later). 1. Any manager participating can enter one team, only. 2. No sandbagging whatsoever. (I will keep up with it, every turn.) 3. No teams or warriors will be allowed to run after contest starts. 4. All warriors will run until they lose three times, after three losses they are eliminated. 5. If a warrior sits out a turn, they are accounted with a loss in the contest. This is to keep warriors with winning records from sitting out until the end of the contest. 6. If a warrior is killed during the contest, the replacement cannot enter the contest. 7. If a warrior is killed, bloodfeuding is allowed, but only by a warrior that is active in the contest. 8. If a warrior is run after being eliminated, the manager is disqualified from the contest, no questions asked. 9. Challenges are legal, up or down. 10. Contest will keep going until 1 warrior is left without three losses, and that warrior, of course, is accounted the winner. 11. All managers participating will be asked to purchase a rollup certificate, to be awarded to the winners of the contest. <<<PRIZES>>> As I have already said, and according to participation, rollups will be awarded to the first and second place managers. So the majority and minority of the rollups will be determined when all are accumulated. Contest Champion--2 Faves prizes, and majority of rollup certificates Contest Runner-up--1 Faves prize, and minority of rollup certificates So once again I invite all managers old and new to participate in what should be a fierce and challenging contest. <<<REMEMBER, FIRST OFFICIAL TURN OF THE CONTEST IS DECEMBER THE FIRST, AND AS I SAID BEFORE, THE TURN BEFORE (NOVEMBER 17TH) YOU MAY DARK ARENA CHALLENGE ONLY!!! ANY WARRIOR WITH ANY FE (FIGHT EXPERIENCE) WHEN THE CONTEST STARTS WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM THE CONTEST. YOUNGBLOOD of WENSINWASIN 11 November 2004 All you alliance-type people, I'm trying (again!) to get my alliance listing correct and up to date. Either send me a diplo (address it to The Saint) or send your updates to me directly at Sue at solberg-mathews.com. As you may guess, replace the at with @ and you're good to go (I do hate spammy mail and this will end up on the web). I have information on the following alliances: ADIO, Allied Axis, Armada, Brotherhood of Justice, Brotherhood of the Blade, Cadre, CDC, Chaos, Inc., Circle of Order, Company of Brothers, Consortium, Council of Lords, Couple Good Guys, Crimson Vengeance, DOA, DOOMcorps, Enigmafia, Eurosquad, Fascist Federation, FONZ, Frothingslosh Syndicate, GAPPDA, Homeland Alliance, IT Alliance, Jingoists, kLk, Knights of the Covenant, LBA, League Arcane, Legion6, Living Essences, Lords and Ladies of Darkness, Manic Union, Midnight Foundation, Minions of Diana, Monarchs of Montezuma, NCA, NIMROD, R.A.G.E., Seventh Sons, The Firm, The French Connection, Vendett@ United, and the Vendetta Cartel. If you are a member of one of these alliances, let me know. If you are a member of some other alliance that isn't listed, let me know. If you were at any point in your past a part of one of these alliance but are now independent, also let me know. Going inactive doesn't mean you get removed from this list; people are assumed to still be in the same alliance when they return. Even having everyone in an alliance go inactive doesn't change anything. If an alliance is officially disbanding, that's another thing you have to let me know.... The Saint, keeper of lists P.S. If you already responded to my online plea (and I replied), you can ignore this. 17 November 2004 Hammer 500-Hammer Run for the Roll Ups Hosted by Hammer Niytyole Island DM 33 has dwindled to the point where as of T-482 [duedate November 3, 2004] there were only 2 active stables listed with 3 inactive stables in a once thriving and lively regular arena. During the past 40+ cycles Hammer has been hosting the Hammer Run for the Roll Ups in DM 33. Thus far only the Ripper and Slasher categories have produced winners to claim the 5 New Team Roll Ups Prize for being the first declared Style Master of their respective categories to graduate. Every contending stable has gone inactive for one reason or another, including CASINO HAMMERZ, over the past several months. Now DM 33 faces the harsh reality that if RSI chooses to close any arenas due to little or no interest, Niytyole Island could very well head the list of endangered regular arenas! In an effort to preserve his beloved island, Hammer is announcing the continuation of the Hammer Run for the Roll Ups; combined with the Hammer 500 which will conclude both contests on T-500 [duedate July 13, 2005] should DM 33 continue to remain open in the coming months. Attention Hammer Runners! The Hammer Run is for 0 FE Basic Arena Warriors ONLY. Participants MUST Be Declared in the P-ads On or Before their First DM 33 Basic Arena Fight to Qualify as a Hammer Runner! Winners of Each Category will receive 5 New Team Roll Up Gift Certificates mailed from RSI courtesy of Hammer! [On the condition that they Graduate on or before T-500; see amended rules below!] The following Style Master categories remain open with a listing of how many declared contestants are still entered and their W/L recognition record at the time of their disappearance from the Hammer Run competition: (P-ad declarations in parenthesis) [Manager name/Stable name in brackets] followed by their last known W/L recognition ranking Rippers Category Now Closed for Hammer Run as of T-475 01. Any declared warrior who succeeds in graduating by T-500 will win 5 New Team Roll Ups Gift Certificates mailed from RSI courtesy of Hammer! Gift Certs will be awarded as soon as possible upon official graduation if the graduation occurs prior to T-500. On T-500 the highest ranked ACTIVE declared warrior in the category(s) without a Graduate will win 2 New Team Roll Ups Gift Certificates mailed from RSI courtesy of Hammer! Additional Hammer 500-Hammer Run for the Roll Ups Gift Cert Prizes: Five (5) Gift Certs will be awarded to the manager whose warrior claims the Duelmaster Throne on T-500. Two (2) Gift Certs will be awarded to the manager(s) whose warrior(s) are listed as the highest Active Challenger Champion, Champion, Challenger Adept, Adept, Challenger Initiate and Initiate on T-500. In the event that NO Duelmaster is seated upon the Duelmaster Throne on T-500 there will be Three (3) Gift Certs awarded to the managers whose Active warriors are tied for recognition points at the Top of the Challenger Champions recognition standings. [Therefore, the Top CC will be awarded 3 Gift Certs instead of 2 for being ranked as the highest CC on T-500]. One (1) Gift Cert will be awarded to the manager(s) whose warrior(s) graduate on T-500. One (1) Gift Cert will be awarded to the manager(s) whose warrior(s) receive their graduation announcement on T-500. One (1) Gift Cert will be awarded to the manager whose warrior is listed as This Week's Favorite on T-500. One (1) Gift Cert will be awarded to the manager whose stable is listed as The Current Top Team on T-500. One (1) Gift Cert will be awarded to the manager whose stable is listed as the Number One Team On The Move Point Gainer on T-500. One (1) Gift Cert will be awarded to the manager whose stable is listed as the Top Career Honors Chartered Team on T-500. One (1) Gift Cert will be awarded to the manager whose stable is listed as the Top Career Honors Unchartered Team on T-500. SHOULD RSI CHOOSE TO CLOSE DM 33 PRIOR TO T-500 ONLY THE HIGHEST ACTIVE DECLARED STYLE MASTER CONTESTANTS WILL BE AWARDED TWO (2) GIFT CERTS AND ALL OTHER PRIZE CATEGORIES WILL BE DECLARED NULL AND VOID BY HAMMER!!!!!!!!! The purpose of this contest is to restore DM 33 to a lively and entertaining arena! Hammer is willing to foot the Prize bill in a last ditch effort to save Niytyole Island from deletion if RSI and the Gladiatorial Commission decide that more arenas need to be closed due to lack of participation and interest. Should this effort fail to spare DM 33 from deletion, then Hammer is prepared to transfer CASINO HAMMERZ to another arena if Niytyole Island is closed by RSI and the Gladiatorial Commission.
