Notes from the arena champ.
Greetings Illis! Unfortunately, my boss tells me that I'm now sitting on a
breakpoint, so I get to take an extended vacation from dueling until he decides if I
get to participate in a Grand Tourney or not.
For Assur, yes, both Chapel Rock (originally from 79) and Hangovers (originally
from 34) are some of Crip's Crap, but Stained Steel is not. Curiously, Fett II's ID#
is the same ID# that I Mother Earth had back in DM79, so that explains why they
showed up when they did. But Not Quite is also part of the Crap, but Wise Old Wayne
is simply a remnant from a team that Crip acquired the team roll-up via trade in
exchange for two beer. Nothing to write home about, but you can find the star 3
speed, 3 deftness character running around in ADM.

SPY REPORT
Greetings warriors! It is I, Zontani Sharp Eyes, here to bring report of the
clash and bustle of the weekly ILLIS games. My praise to BASHAHOLICS ANON for their
3-0-0 week this time out. Indeed, it was a skillfully fought round deserving of
notice! IRISH FLAG caught the eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as it
skillfully bested VENAL CLERK and was awarded 15 points in recognition. In one of
the week's more notable duels, FLAMING MOE put down COCO NUTTAL, causing her to lose
10 points of recognition in the process. Due to its absence and inability to defend
the throne, IMMACULATECOLLECTION has lost the title of Duelmaster. The city has
turned out in honor of NAZARETH, for with its arena victory it may now lay claim to
the highest position in the city! Would you believe that over half of the old women
in ILLIS seem to feel that they could fight better than you gladiators?
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city ILLIS. ILLIS, city of gladiators! Mighty among the names of thy guilds
is VIRUS, a guild shunned and avoided by many in the weekly duels. If you didn't
look down dark alleys you'd have been hard pressed to find any of NOT QUITE last
week. Busy avoiding VIRUS? Mighty fighters cannot but expect competition from those
below. CANCER take warning! You have more than a few enemies in ILLIS.
What warrior does not hone his years, impatiently waiting for the moment of his
foe's mortality? WASHOUT must hold silent, for this week she was humbled in the
arena by a successful Bloodfeud won by CANCER of VIRUS. Hail CANCER for thy victory!
Fate is a fickle mistress. She showers the miserable with fortune but sets enemies
against the victorious. Remember this!

WINTER FACE-TO-FACE IN SUNNY ARIZONA!
Our next winter FTF will be held in Tempe, Arizona, January 14-16, 2011. It will be
held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Tempe, Arizona (480-894-7444), the same hotel as
last year by popular request. Room rates are $129.00 per night, 1-2 occupancy, which
includes full cooked breakfast, complimentary manager's reception (yes, really!), free
airport shuttle, free parking and free high speed internet. There's a fitness center,
jacuzzi, and pool. The rooms are blocked--please make your reservation by December 22
before the block is released! (This is prime season for Phoenix, and people have been
unable to book rooms because they waited too long.) Look for the tournament info
sheet and minioverviews some time in December. We hope you're all looking forward to
it and that we will see you there!
