12th Age Harvestmoon
Valamantis

Michelle was standing frustrated and nervous, looking pale and worried. Her
keen eyes were dilating out from her open window. Her view was to the misty dark
clouds that were rising from the west, off the coast of Valamantis.
It would be at her marble makeshift tower soon only the roofing was left by the
master dwarves and their crafts. Michelle knew who and exactly what was in it.
Earlier that morning while having breakfast and going through her daily routine
she used the crystal ball and check in on her young promising student only to have
something odd appear--a humanoid figure with red eyes and a corded masculine body
that was covered up in flames which licked each other wildly. Horns as long as a
great ball out the side of his grotesque and mutilated head. Claws gleaming black
that looked dangerously wicked. It seemed to be flying with its huge bat-like wings
slowly flapping at its sides. Its arms out-stretched to the side of him as if it
were controlling the clouds with a mystic power of some sort.
The clouds formed around him and grew darker every moment it drew near. The
trail it lead was nothing but black clouds that ate all possible light from passing
through.
The fear Michelle felt fell deep and heavy within her heart.
Finding enough courage after a long moment of terror she used her will and
tapped into the power of the enchanted crystal ball. Michelle spoke as best she
could in an ancient language long fit unusable.
"Who are you?" Michelle questioned in Folstrom.
The creature looked around not knowing it was watched inside the magical orb.
It answered to the skies that were fast being consumed by its dark power.
"I am the most dreaded Chaos fiend. As for my name you'll not have. But you
petty humans may call me master," it roared in a deep thunderous voice.
"Very well. Master, why are you here and what is it that you want? Thinking a
poor stupid wizard might have summon it or worse. Open a Gate to the phone of which
the Fiend came through. Either way someone would have to deal with it."
"I am here on my own bidding and before the sun falls. You stupid humans will
be my slaves. Bow down to me now and worship me!" shouted the torturous demon with a
wide grinning smile that showed many of its poisonous fangs.
The clouds around him collided against each other causing thunder to erupt and
lightning to arch from the clouds to the sea. Making the ocean rumble and steam in
anger.
The orb faded from the Demon to her long forgotten student. She was working on
some spell in the spell chamber Michelle not paying attention to her student still
horror stricken by the Fiend knowing nothing good will come from this.
Choking up her tears she whisper for her voice lost power. "I must warn
Ashrain...."

                                 DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
                             Notes from the arena champ.

That was perfect, Crysalis! The win, four skills, three ratings, and the title.
Am I great, or what?
Oh, heck, I just saw there at the end where you died. Heck. It's rotten to die
on your own challenge to a less experienced warrior, isn't it? Darn. Nick's gonna
be pissed, and he'll tell Jorja, who started my training, and she'll be REALLY
pissed. You shouldn't have stood on your head, because I was aiming for your legs.
It doesn't look like you've got anyone in a good position for a bloodfeud, but I
won't avoid if you want to try it.

                                      SPY REPORT

It's me, The Unknown Spymaster, back to give you this week's Spy Report. Sit
back in your seats and we'll have more fun than a barrel of Zontanis. Hey everybody,
watch out for BENSI DURN, who flew up 20 points in the rankings after mashing
CELESTIAL FURY like a melon. Keep your eye on this gal. TRAIN got through to the
Duelmaster this turn. No doubt he was more than anxious to kick CHIP ENSER's tail
out of the throne! Well, everybody's pal CHIP ENSER moved his record to 14-9-2 by
defeating TRAIN in the Duelmaster's Title Bout and gaining 5 recognition points.
Advice to bashers--never force anything, just get a bigger halberd!
Let's dig a little deeper into what's happening in the VALAMANTIS arena. Well
just about everybody wants a piece of TRAIN WRECK, who was this week's most
challenged warrior. HAJJ'IL THAN'NI of DEVIL'S MAYHEM had better have a good reason
for challenging down 9 points in a challenge which he lost. I thought HAJJ'IL
THAN'NI showed great skill and promise when he was defeated by DOC FELLE. All right,
so I slept through it! Big deal!
Death is kind of like a new puppy: he's always around wanting to play. (Ha
Zontani, how's that for a wise saying?). It's not often when you see a 8-3-0 warrior
like CELESTIAL FURY kick the bucket. I wonder if DEVIL'S MAYHEM will recover from
the blow. Congrats to DIED for revenging the death of his teammate (but more
importantly, feeding TRAIN WRECK a bit of dirt). Ask not the elves for counsel, for
they will say both yes and no. Silly buggers, eh?
I think I had better cut this one short. It's been nice chatting to those of
you whom I have not offended yet. Well, there goes another Spy Report. Good luck in
next week's fights. And remember, you can pick your friends and you can pick
your--(loud boos), oh, you've heard that one already!-- The Unknown Spymaster

expert, master, advanced expert. -3 INI, +3 RIP, +1 DEF off to Darkholm. Crysalis,
on the other hand, should have been killed a long time ago but record and FE
prevented me from pulling the plug. Crysalis was a LU 12(1)-7-7-15(2)-21-8-17 +2

INI, +2 DEF. 22 skills learned out of 27 possible for a grand total of 86 skills for
a 31 FE warrior. Only 1 fight did Crysalis learn 2 skills. The rest were 1 or
nothing. I guess that is what I get for naming after slow arena. -- Phat

Buddy Lee -- Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I'm not much on personals, as you see.
Don't worry about the fighter you killed, nothing great or I'd remember more about
it. I sent Crysalis because such a pud had to win somehow. I hope your loss doesn't
bring any bad feelings toward Sretsamleud, but if so, that is life in Alastari. Good
luck and congrats on your success in 62. -- Phat

Train -- Thank you for the fights and acknowledgement. Our second fight I thought
I'd try something else since I didn't like the results of the first. I went with a
dodge strat and got the jump, go figure. It has been fun and I hope to see you
again. -- Bet or not die

Nick -- Crysalis was a pud and you did us a favor. We shall still seek revenge if
Died is up to it. Most likely we won't get it 'cause of the big FE gap but what the
heck. It is worth a shot. -- Phat Phat

Assur -- I do not think my guys belong up here nor do they belong down. They're
pretty much in limbo until I can get them ready. "Rule" the throne well with an iron
fist because when Train and Bus have gone I will try my best to take it! -- Din
P.S. Mario should be back. I don't think Nintendo will let him sit out this long.

Nick -- I don't know if my guys made the mail in. Very late strat put in (no
lighting pigeon), but I think everybody should be back. Got to go fix Dark Pinnacle
in Transel. It might take a while before I'm back. -- Buddy Lee

Bensi -- How dare you. You are such a tease! -- Celestial Fury

Chip Enser -- I claim you don't belong on the throne. It's been a long time since
you've come off my tracks with a victory. -- Train

Died -- Here's hoping I break yet another undefeated streak this turn! What is with
all the undefeated warriors here in Valamantis? I know the arena is a shell, but
you'd think you guys would occasionally match up with each other, but I guess when 4
of them are on the same team, that doesn't happen, does it.... -- Bus

Hell Storm -- Thanks, but we just had one. At least, if you visualize hell as cold
and wet. Brrr! It even snew! -- Bensi Durn

Inferno Serpent -- Drat, that was embarrassing. I've got the figure to be a
temptress, but you're the one with the moves. Do you think you could give me some
tips? -- Alta Chess

Colossus's Fire -- Er, I don't really want to say this, but, well, I'm a pyrophobe.
-- Eb Gollu

Hajj'il Than'ni -- You don't really mean that I don't belong here. I can tell.
You're too eager to get your hands on my skills. -- Doc Felle

Celestial Fury -- Of course! My teammate and sword-sister is an Orc, after all, and
you know what THEY are like! -- Bensi Durn

All -- I can only hope that you guys enjoy team spot and p-ads as much as I do. So I
will put my inexperience to work and try to come up with a good one. I only hope the
Gladiatorial Commission approves my story line and not black flag me. -- Buddy Lee

Din -- I will move a team to 62, but I will not be fighting them that much. I do not
think they like inmate managers there that much. Besides, I have my hands full with
that little war we fight with you know who. -- Liam the Goth, mgr. The Damned

22 October 2004
                         Youngblood's Three and Out Contest

I would like to take this time to announce and invite all managers to compete in what
I think will be an awesome contest. If you haven't ever TC'd at a tourney before,
here is your chance. The contest will start Wednesday, December 1, 2004, but a
chance will be given November 17 to dark arena, only, any warrior that you do not see
fit to run in the contest. So now that I have your attention, here are the rules
(like you didn't know they were coming sooner or later).

 1. Any manager participating can enter one team, only.
 2. No sandbagging whatsoever. (I will keep up with it, every turn.)
 3. No teams or warriors will be allowed to run after contest starts.
 4. All warriors will run until they lose three times, after three losses they are
     eliminated.
 5. If a warrior sits out a turn, they are accounted with a loss in the contest.
This is to keep warriors with winning records from sitting out until the end of
     the contest.
 6. If a warrior is killed during the contest, the replacement cannot enter the
     contest.
 7. If a warrior is killed, bloodfeuding is allowed, but only by a warrior that is
     active in the contest.
 8. If a warrior is run after being eliminated, the manager is disqualified from the
     contest, no questions asked.
 9. Challenges are legal, up or down.
10. Contest will keep going until 1 warrior is left without three losses, and that
warrior, of course, is accounted the winner.
11. All managers participating will be asked to purchase a rollup certificate, to be
awarded to the winners of the contest.

                                    <<<PRIZES>>>

As I have already said, and according to participation, rollups will be awarded
to the first and second place managers. So the majority and minority of the rollups
will be determined when all are accumulated.
Contest Champion--2 Faves prizes, and majority of rollup certificates
Contest Runner-up--1 Faves prize, and minority of rollup certificates
So once again I invite all managers old and new to participate in what should be
a fierce and challenging contest. <<<REMEMBER, FIRST OFFICIAL TURN OF THE CONTEST IS
DECEMBER THE FIRST, AND AS I SAID BEFORE, THE TURN BEFORE (NOVEMBER 17TH) YOU MAY
DARK ARENA CHALLENGE ONLY!!! ANY WARRIOR WITH ANY FE (FIGHT EXPERIENCE) WHEN THE
CONTEST STARTS WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM THE CONTEST.

11 November 2004
All you alliance-type people, I'm trying (again!) to get my alliance listing correct
and up to date. Either send me a diplo (address it to The Saint) or send your
updates to me directly at Sue at solberg-mathews.com. As you may guess, replace the
at with @ and you're good to go (I do hate spammy mail and this will end up on the
web).

I have information on the following alliances: ADIO, Allied Axis, Armada,
Brotherhood of Justice, Brotherhood of the Blade, Cadre, CDC, Chaos, Inc., Circle of
Order, Company of Brothers, Consortium, Council of Lords, Couple Good Guys, Crimson
Vengeance, DOA, DOOMcorps, Enigmafia, Eurosquad, Fascist Federation, FONZ,
Frothingslosh Syndicate, GAPPDA, Homeland Alliance, IT Alliance, Jingoists, kLk,
Knights of the Covenant, LBA, League Arcane, Legion6, Living Essences, Lords and
Ladies of Darkness, Manic Union, Midnight Foundation, Minions of Diana, Monarchs of
Montezuma, NCA, NIMROD, R.A.G.E., Seventh Sons, The Firm, The French Connection,
Vendett@ United, and the Vendetta Cartel.

If you are a member of one of these alliances, let me know. If you are a member of
some other alliance that isn't listed, let me know. If you were at any point in your
past a part of one of these alliance but are now independent, also let me know.
Going inactive doesn't mean you get removed from this list; people are assumed to
still be in the same alliance when they return. Even having everyone in an alliance
go inactive doesn't change anything. If an alliance is officially disbanding, that's
another thing you have to let me know....

The Saint, keeper of lists

P.S. If you already responded to my online plea (and I replied), you can ignore
this.
