Notes from the arena champ.
Obviously, the crowd loves me, and who can blame them? I'm lovable. Even
Gorlok Bonecrusher, the Khalhums Dwarf, loves me. I wasn't really "savage" with him,
you know, that was all theater. Gorlon's the sweetest man you could hope to meet.
Well, unless you're an elf. He doesn't seem to care much for elves. But then,
neither do I, so this isn't a problem between us.

Well, what are you looking at, AMEN-TEI? Ain't you never seen Snide Clemens
before? Ah, shaddup and listen to my news. Of course, we're all terribly impressed
to see LADY JANE win a fight and gain 16 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, BUD BOLLARD
beat CHELSEA and CHELSEA lost 10 points. You're breakin' my heart. And if variety
is the spice of life, AMEN-TEI may be getting bland, as LADY SLIPPER stays top dog in
the city. The Dripping Blade, humph! I've tasted better ale at mortuaries. Where
do they get this stuff? From AMEN-TEI's trash dumps?
Well, let's take a look at some more misdeeds of you miserable sword-boys. BAD
GIRLS, I suppose you'll be glad to know you were this turn's most avoided team. Care
to know who is the most afraid of you? And who led the way in this mass act of
cowardice? Let's see, well, whatcha know? It was TOO OLD. Ha ha ha ha! LILLY
SCOOTER was challenged more times this turn than the Duelmaster. Now was the DM
insulted or feared? Heh, heh.
Death and Taxes. The less death I see, the more it taxes my patience. Let's
see if anyone's dead or dying. And now a passing thought on a warrior dying young
(OSTEOPOROSIS of TOO OLD): You had your chance and now you're dead. Oh well...
Seriously now, is it really honorable for LADY SLIPPER from WAYFARERS to kill
OSTEOPOROSIS and give TOO OLD the chance to bloodfeud? Mmmm, could be. Honor is
like a chainmail shirt, it only shines through use. Certain nameless cowards will
doubtless rebuke me on this one.
What does the AMEN-TEI arena have in common with the inns? It's just as
comfortable to sleep in either place. Ha ha ha ha! Phlllt! Just had to do that
