Notes from the arena champ.
It is an odd feeling to be holding a well-deserved throne and know I will not be
sitting on it again next turn. Jeanine was a fine competitor, but I am glad I won.
She is not ready for such a high position. I expect with my sitting out this turn,
Disorder will resume his place on the throne. That is more appropriate. I find
myself at 20FE, so I expect I will only sit out this one turn and come back
aggressively (and hopefully) properly timed for the coming adepts tournament. We
shall see. -- Masood
SPY REPORT
I was going on vacation, see? Surf, sun... But what do those bums say? "Hit
the road, Debby Tonte. DAL SHANG needs a spyreport." Oh, well. What was the name
of that team who got 3-1-0 this turn for a total 272-343-7 you ask? (Sure)
REFUGEES' their name, and fighting's their game! What a putz! MASOOD fights so hard
to be Duelmaster, then quits fighting and loses the title. No one said he was a
genius... Was that a tear I saw in AMPLITUR's eye, as it took over Duelmastership?
And wasn't TIGER fit to be tied! I hear the top team insists all their warriors get
nine hours sleep. They want photogenic fighters for PR photos.
I gotta admit I haven't been in "deep con caves" with any spies. Really, I just
wing this stuff. The warriors of REFUGEES must be getting lonely. They were the
most avoided team. Do you guys know something that I don't? Is there some deep dark
secret why DARK TOADS' been avoiding REFUGEES so much? Or is it just that they're
too scared? Like, is CHURRO THE HOOK popular, or what? He was challenged the most
in all of DAL SHANG! He's got a 14-38-1, is that good? See if I ever talk to
DISORDER again! CHURRO THE HOOK was so low when He challenged he. Hhmph! DISORDER
beat CHURRO THE HOOK. No surprise about that. Really I'm not surprised DISORDER
would do such a scummy thing, either. People were asking me did HUMAN REALLY
challenge JEANINE? (all right, maybe they didn't, but it sounded good!) It wasn't a
spectacular fight, or anything, but JEANINE wants me to write about it since she was
beat by HUMAN. Satisfied?
What does a fighter fight for? I mean, the crowds don't give a hoot if someone
gets killed. Not after four more fights. What if they had a fight and nobody showed
up? I'd be out of a job, that's what!!!
Remember, blood on a purple robe may stain. Soak it in cold water, and hand
wash. I know how much you like reading this stuff, but I really should stop. I had

Citizens of Ghea (only the ignorant fail to note Lirith Kai is not in Alastari),
no new day is rising, but the sun is setting on just another beautiful evening.
While you were sleeping, an irksome rabble has entered the always fair Aruak City.
Of course they fought alongside our warriors, most not so treasured, as all
gladiators do. They drank with themselves, and slept with themselves. Whether they
had masks, who cares.
Warriors, don't be afraid. For years Aruak has been one of the safest cities in
Ghea, and that custom has been continually cultivated, and will continue to be by
those who have called it home for years and those who live, fight, and die by the
same ethics. There is no contest, nor has there ever needed to be one for many
years. A conflict of personalities has arisen, and the city has been 'invaded' by
pests.
Any rules that are annouced will be purely for the joy of the lemmings' own
little world. Those who are being targeted have no interest in participating except
to defend the integrity of an arena that is different from others. Whether you
choose to come to Aruak, do it for your own reasons, not theirs.
Competing in Aruak City has never been for the faint of heart or the weak willed.
Combat is combat, wherever you go. Blood will flow as always, and now many innocents
will be caught in the middle, but those who defend Aruak's traditions never target
those who bring respect of Aruaki customs with them to our home.
So ignore the private ranting announcement brought by the stuporous
Frothingsloshers. If you choose Aruak City, do not choose it for an unsanctioned and
bogus 'contest', choose it for the tradition. Choose it because Aruak is different.

An Announcement Concerning the Brotherhood of the Blade Alliance:
I have chosen to withdraw my membership from the Brotherhood of the Blade
alliance. The years I have spent in the alliance have been the best of my DM career.
I leave the alliance with many great friends and will always remain close to my
former brethren.
The Brotherhood of the Blade will not skip a beat without my membership. It
