Notes from the arena champ.
Triple Dog Dare, you ruined Assur's grand plans! For that, Assur wants me to warn you
that he is coming after you with his Lord Protector. Though by the time you read
this, it'll be too late to do anything about it!
For some reason, Assur thinks it is funny for me to throw fights. He says my win/loss
percentage doesn't matter. Maybe it doesn't matter to him, but it does to me!
Ah well, whatever happens, happens. There are more important things than winning
arena fights.

SPY REPORT
Welcome DRAGONHEAD. I, Olaf Modeen remember this place well. Many the fights
have I fought here. The celebrations, the disappointments... Up 'n down. Up 'n
down. Rankings always change. Up 'n down. I think I'm gonna be... Well, NL
CENTRAL's 9th moved them up to 2-1-0 place. DISARM showed DRAGONHEAD what they were
made of as they fought with a vengeance to walk off with 3-0-0. A team with purpose!
A team with the skill to back up their boasts! Getting a 3-1-0 their first time out
is BASH BROS SUPERBOWL. What's with FAKE SMILE? He actually beat MONGREL HORDE's
DOG HOUSE, and walked away with 22 more points from the fight. Laughs were big at
BASH BROS PHOTO while they watched FAKE SMILE clobber DOG HOUSE. It lost 20 points
and got bruised from objects thrown from the stands. Apparently DRAGONHEAD isn't
filled with as many gutless wonders as I thought. The Dreaded Duelmaster got 4
challenges this turn! See how the Duelmaster challenged FAVORITE SAYINGS 6's LIFE &
DEATH? That sort of initiative is how he got where he is now. I'm sure DRAGONHEAD
is excited about LIFE & DEATH, the new Duelmaster from FAVORITE SAYINGS 6.
(remember?) But when you've seen as many as I have... Wouldn't it be nice to have
live subjects to practice on? I hear some team is looking into the uses of convicted
prisoners.
If at first you don't succeed, avoid. That'll get you in the Spyreports. The
most avoided team was BASH BROS JACKET. Management must be dealin', as the boys at
MEAT YOUR MAKER ain't reelin'! BASH BROS JACKET's mad! FISH STORY didn't quite know
what to make of a challenge he received from SIR FRANCIS BACON of MEAT YOUR MAKER,
who is 22 points below him. SIR FRANCIS BACON perhaps got his just desserts, seeing
as he was subdued by FISH STORY and ended up with 96 recognition points.
A fighter's lot is filled with strife, revenge, and killing. Some fighters
don't accept this. The best do. How long have I been here? I got people to see,
places to go...
Well, I'm pretty much through. You guys need to get back practicing. All work
and no play makes Olaf a dull fighter. Work and play no fighter dull Olaf.

The gladiators looked around at the Commission's administrative office on the
Isle of the Eye. They'd been here before. The standard boxy building, the scurrying
clerks, the... goats browsing on the landscaping. Not as many goats this time as
before, only three. One came over to Zeke (not his arena name) and nuzzled his
pockets. He scratched at the base of its floppy ears, lacking a snack to offer. He
looked at one of the clerks. "I thought you got rid of the goats last year," Zeke
said.
"These are new goats," the clerk said with a sigh. "They're going to be shipped
out next week." He looked hopeful. "They like you, could you stay until then?"
Zeke sighed. Minding three goats sounded more enjoyable than fighting in the
arena. "I'd have to ask my manager."

it was a tasty snack, Rodney quickly dipped his pen in ink and began to write. "It is
