                                      SPY REPORT

I was going on vacation, see? Surf, sun... But what do those bums say? "Hit
the road, Debby Tonte. DAYLA KIV needs a spyreport." Oh, well. MVP award for
SYMPATHETIC DEVIL? STONED's proud of him after beating KORBA KLEE and getting 10
points. Talk about yer major upsets! KORBA KLEE's match with SYMPATHETIC DEVIL cost
him a loss of 7 points! Don't you think the Duelmaster is being unfair? I think
LOQUE should let ADALIUS be Duelmaster for a while, without fighting about it. I
hear the top team insists all their warriors get nine hours sleep. They want
photogenic fighters for PR photos.
So just why would someone becomes a warrior anyway? It can't be for these
really neat Spyreports can it? The warriors of GURTARG'S AXES must be getting
lonely. They were the most avoided team. Do you guys know something that I don't?
I don't know what FACING WORLDS' been doing. They certainly haven't been accepting
many fights from GURTARG'S AXES, that's fer sher. Like, is RONSEVAN popular, or
what? He was challenged the most in all of DAYLA KIV! He's got a 14-30-0, is that
good? People were asking me did AULDRYMBREI REALLY challenge RONSEVAN? (all right,
maybe they didn't, but it sounded good!) It wasn't a spectacular fight, or anything,
but RONSEVAN wants me to write about it since he was beat by AULDRYMBREI. Satisfied?
Challenges, revenges, Bloodfeuds. All DAYLA KIV ever talks about is fighting!
Me, I'm more laid back. Pinch me, I must be dreaming!!! ABLAER III returns from the
Dark Arena, maybe a "little upset" at his GURTARG'S AXES teammates... What if they
had a fight and nobody showed up? I'd be out of a job, that's what!!!
Remember, blood on a purple robe may stain. Soak it in cold water, and hand
wash. I gotta leave. DAYLA KIV is like such a dump, and you guys smell too much! I
had a fun time, see you later-- Debby Tonte

Auldrymbrei -- Shouldn't you be, I don't know, a dwarf or something with a name like
that? -- Ronsevan

Well, NEXT time, I want the TRUE Darsal to meet me on the sands. -- Chessara

I once had a teammate in this arena who called himself Street Sweeper, and he fought
this standby, and nobody knew what had happened. -- Korba Klee
P.S. That was back in the days when the standbys still posted their learns, but I
guess they got tired of the whole futile business, since they aren't allowed to use
their new skills.

Ah, yes, of course I've met more formidable foes in the bath! The Dirty Ruffian
doesn't GO to the bath. -- Garmon Chang

Wins are fine things, but shouldn't there be some managed warriors out there with us?
-- Mitrillao

Adalius -- You find the title destigous, do you? Great! I knew there was something
special about it. -- Ronsevan
P.S. The grass in the center of the arena is for hay. A good seller, hay.

Glaerikim -- Ah, the ARENA is small, but the town is not, you know. They say there
were sixty thousand people inside the walls at the last census, and nobody knows for
sure how many in the suburbs. -- Garmon Chang

Sir Chester -- It's a case of Small Arena Syndrome. Look at my team, going four-oh
against standbys! Sure, of course they can beat the standbys, but they shouldn't be
FIGHTING so many of them. And maybe in part the aftermath of that contest that
Zalgor Prigg held here some time ago. You can count on the Sand Dancers for
personals, and to always show up for the fights, and you can count on the standbys to
be there, but that's about it. Well, hmm, I could probably also persuade the
standbys to write personals regularly, if you'd like? -- Li Dan, Sand Dancers

Auldrymbrei -- (bowing slightly) It was my honor. -- Chandar Lo

Loque -- You finally made a challenge! Congrats to you and well done. I have not
been beaten like that since my father bent me over his knee as a wee child and
spanked me. Once I return from the tourney I will come back for my throne and you
will wish you never had taken it from me. Heeeeheeehee! Cognrats to you...we'll see
more of each other in the future...I promise you that. -- Adalius--pleading for the
throne back!

Ronsevan -- Congrats on your win and graduation to ADM. My leather is one big
eyesore...yes your blades were too strong and I woo weak. The shame I fell for
letting my stable members down...Oh! the shame!!! Sniff, sniff! -- Auldrymbrei #3264

Sympathetic Devil -- What??? A challenge??? WOW!!! Thank you very much. I would
thank you even if I had lost so don't think that I'm being a stinker. I'm glad that
the challenges have begun. Makes me feel at home! -- Glaerikim #3515

Li Dan -- 5-0-0 last turn--"Congrats!" I need a few of those myself. Thanks for
letting me know about Zalgor's situation. I would like to take part in the next
Zalcon but I would like to stay and "FINALLY" graduate some fighters. Been playing
for about five years and have never had one fighter graduate to ADM because I never
stay in one place for long, just float along like some furrian from city to city,
start trouble then move on. I will stay here and get some into ADM. This is
something I must do!!! I would like to take a look around in ADM and enjoy whatever
is there. -- Sir Chester

Ronsevan -- Will have to take a rain check on tavern hoping until we meet up in ADM.
We'll have a blast then! -- Adalius--beaming with hope!

Sand Dancers -- I avoid you and somehow...somehow...we get matched up. Oh...well
that's life on the sands. -- Sir Chester

All -- I and my stable will be paying for all drinks at the tavern in order to give
Ronsevan a send off party. Everyone is welcome and should leave all weapons at home.
Weapons and ale do not belong together! Smile! -- Gurtarg's Axes (447)

Ronsevan -- Will send you off by attempting to challenge you one last time! Good
luck to you. -- Auldrymbrei/Glaerikim

Garmon Chang -- No! I will not give Gurtarg his axe back...it will always remain by
my side. Smile! -- Glerikim/Gurtarg's Axes (447)

All -- Get the damn arena cleared of those weeds at once or I'll be forced to write
the commissioner and make a complaint! -- Sir Chester

Loque -- We will challenge you each and every turn if you are within reach. Just
wanted you to know that we will not give you a free ride on the throne. -- Gurtarg's
Axes (447) Coming for u!!!

Lord Protector Ronsevan -- I am instructed to offer you lands on the usual terms:
the estate is on a border, and you have to live there and defend it against raiders
and ruffians. At this time, we have a small fortified village on the Ratani border
that needs a Lord Defender; according to the notes there is an oasis, some farmland--
not much from what I can tell--a palm grove, and a lot of goats and camels. Or a
suitable building site on the Western Slope, water, grass, near a secondary trail, no
neighbors to speak of except the nomads who raid through the area; you'd be starting
from scratch there, but the grant would come with a recommendation to the commander
of the local Border Legion to assist. I don't know which commander that would be, I
could look it up if you want to know. And a fortified manor in the north, in good
condition according to the note I have here but the local people say there is
Something in the woods. If any of these appeal more than going away to that foreign
island and spending all your time among people with no interests other than fighting
and drinking, contact me for further details. -- Harizon, Arena Steward

15 September 2005
                             HAMMER ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT

Be it known from the highest mountains to the darkest alleys of Alastari that
the veteran manager known far and wide as Hammer has now officially retired from
sponsoring contests as of September 15, 2005.
What a long time ago was a fun motivated activity to help promote our common
DM/D2 gaming interest in an effort to promote the growth and competitiveness of
selected arenas has become a far from fun experience.
In other words Hammer has had it!
The combination of real life situations interfering with the time needed to
effectively sponsor a contest, plus the attitudes expressed during such sponsorship
interference has led to Hammer closing his personal coin coffers and retiring from
his planned sponsorship of any future contests.
There are others in our close knit gaming community who are well able to step up
to the plate and continue sponsoring contests that make the basic game a fun
experience for all those who choose to compete and interact in such future endeavors.
Hammer thanks all managers both active and inactive who helped to make the
Hammer sponsored contests a historical and entertaining experience well worth the
time, effort and money spent over the past several years.
May the Cheers and the Jeers of future contests build upon the legacies of those
who have paved the way in years gone by to help make this game what it is today.
Hammer has no regrets for the part he has played in that history.
