Notes from the arena champ.
Well, look who's the champion of Dayla Kiv (looks around). Why, by the knots in
my beard, it's me, Tane the loveable but mangy dwarf. Who remembers when I was
Duelmaster last time? I do, and it was turn 596. It's been so long ago that I didn't
forget, that's right, didn't forget, because we dwarves are like elephants, we don't
forget.... Now then, what was I sayin'?
You're all bunch a rascally varmints, but I likes ya. You're so likeable I'm
gonna ask the commission to put a stand-in against me for my farewell fight. I aint's
got the heart to pound on ya anymore, but that Khalhums Dwarf, I gotta axe or a
longsword, or as the Commission tells me a short spear is my favorite weapon, I got a
short spear to grind with the Khalhums Dwarf. He's callin' himself the Traveling
Tinker in these parts and I don't like it at all. No, not at all.
Alright, immortality calls. Time to go eat ambrosia, or whatever is the
immortals do. I guess I'll find out. HAR, HAR. No, I'm not a pirate, I'm a dwarf,
although there's little difference in the speech of either. So long, Dayla Kiv.

SPY REPORT
Greetings warriors! It is I, Zontani Sharp Eyes, here to bring report of the
clash and bustle of the weekly DAYLA KIV games. JACK MCCHOW caught the eye of many
in the gladiatorial commission as he skillfully bested RED KOGAN and was awarded 21
points in recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels, PERRO MASON put down
DISSIDENT, causing him to lose 14 points of recognition in the process. Not for
nothing has TANE in the past laid claim to the Duelmaster's throne, and this week
he's proven his combat skill yet again. Heed this! A seer has warned that if
exactly 6 die in duels this week, the whole city shall perish! Just remember...5 or
7!
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city DAYLA KIV. DAYLA KIV, city of gladiators! Mighty among the names of
thy guilds is ARGONAUTS, a guild shunned and avoided by many in the weekly duels.
Apparently the stalwarts of LAW DOGS are catching the bulk of jests down at the
challenging board for their large share of the avoids. Loose talk at the arena has
reached my ears and it but confirms the knowledge that many fighters are after JACK
MCCHOW. Watch your back!
Is not Death a warrior's foremost adviser? Warriors, may this counselor stand
ready at your right hand forever! Some say a warrior is judged by the way he bears
arms. One thing is sure, better a dagger in hand then a sword on the belt!
