Notes from the arena champ.

Well, I finally made it here at 14-3-3. Long ago I was quite the wonder in my
first three fights, going 3-0-3, so expectations were quite high. I admit that I am
pretty good, and in my first tournament I added another kill going 7-3-1. Since those
Apprentice days, I have limped along at 10-3-0 in the arena and a 6-3 in the Adepts
tournament. Perhaps my blade has lost its edge?
Perhaps I will get another tournament shot in Champions, but I doubt it? Perhaps
I will achieve Lord Protectorship sooner? Lady Sheila needs some strong women
protectors at her side. Perhaps, instead, I will die trying?
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps. Let us fight and we shall see.

SPY REPORT

Hail and well met warriors of JADE MOUNTAIN! Know me for who I am, Zontani
Sharp Eyes, Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. There were bitter words at
VICIOUS FISH 2021's guildhouse after a 0-4-0 showing this week which dropped the
stable into 7th. Dark Arena anyone? My praise to THE LAST WITTLE for their 3-0-0
week this time out. Indeed, it was a skillfully fought round deserving of notice!
CONTAGION caught the eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as he skillfully
bested PUFFER FISH PERIL and was awarded 17 points in recognition. In one of the
week's more notable duels, ANOTHER ONE put down DEATHLY PIRARUCU, causing him to lose
8 points of recognition in the process. Unwilling to wait upon the will of others,
Duelmaster COLESTAH challenged PERILOUS PIRANHA last week in a match to decide the
fate of the throne. Although PERILOUS PIRANHA made a valiant effort, it did not
suffice to topple the reign of victorious COLESTAH. No confirmation, but my sources
claim that the top team has gained their position using magical aids. Charmed
weapons perhaps?
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city JADE MOUNTAIN. JADE MOUNTAIN, city of gladiators! Mighty among the
names of thy guilds is CRITICALS, a guild shunned and avoided by many in the weekly
duels. Methinks more than a few here could name the guild it was that spent the
better part of last week avoiding CRITICALS. Indeed it was LADY WARRIORS. Loose
talk at the arena has reached my ears and it but confirms the knowledge that many
fighters are after CONTAGION. Watch your back!
Is not Death a warrior's foremost adviser? Warriors, may this counselor stand
ready at your right hand forever! Dark alleys may hide both secrets and assassins.
In the arena there is only the brightness of steel. Keep vigil always!
The girls are as pretty in JADE MOUNTAIN as ever I remembered them....and the
fighters as ugly! Don't let your reputation slip! Sadly warriors, now longer can I
keep thy company nor savor the ale of thy fine city. Depart I must and soon! Till
