                                      SPY REPORT

Greetings warriors! It is I, Zontani Sharp Eyes, here to bring report of the
clash and bustle of the weekly LIN TIRIAN games. Fortune did not smile upon PBA this
time out who this turn suffered a fall into 8th position in the wake of a 0-1-0
round. My praise to WILD KINGDOM for their 3-0-0 week this time out. Indeed, it was
a skillfully fought round deserving of notice! WALLIS caught the eye of many in the
gladiatorial commission as he skillfully bested TOE PAL and was awarded 21 points in
recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels, WALLIS put down TOE PAL,
causing her to lose 17 points of recognition in the process. Although COCAINE made a
valiant effort, it did not suffice to topple the reign of victorious MOONSTONE. No
confirmation, but my sources claim that the top team has gained their position using
magical aids. Charmed weapons perhaps?
Many and various are the arts of battle. In LIN TIRIAN "art" is a word that has
long since passed from the language! I saw one fighter that warriors avoided when
this week's challenge seeking began. TREE PEOPLE is feared. This much I can say.
Apparently the stalwarts of WILD KINGDOM are catching the bulk of jests down at the
challenging board for their large share of the avoids. Mighty fighters cannot but
expect competition from those below. ONE-EYE TEO take warning! You have more than a
few enemies in LIN TIRIAN. I can not but mention with disdain the name of
TERMINOTTER III who this week posted a challenge to a warrior a full 14 points below
in the rankings. I thought TERMINOTTER III showed great skill and promise when he
overcame CLUMSY DAN. All right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
What warrior does not hone his years, impatiently waiting for the moment of his
foe's mortality? Fate is a fickle mistress. She showers the miserable with fortune
but sets enemies against the victorious. Remember this!
The girls are as pretty in LIN TIRIAN as ever I remembered them....and the
fighters as ugly! Don't let your reputation slip! Sadly warriors, now longer can I
keep thy company nor savor the ale of thy fine city. Depart I must and soon! Till
we meet again, remember: a turtle walks slow, hides head in a shell, and harms no
one; a lion runs to slay its prey.-- Zontani Sharp Eyes

Let it be known far and wide, that the Warrior TUM 18-7380, the Champions Runner-Up
for the recent Tournament, is managed by none other than Shocking Toad. I named this
fabulous warrior after my friend and mentor, TUM, a.k.a. Don! Sorry TUM didn't get
me my first TC; however, a runner-up with all those sandbaggers is pretty impressive,
if I do say so myself. -- Shocking Toad, The Manager

TOURNEY FREEZE CHANGE -- ADVANCE NOTICE

Beginning at the Winter Face-to-Face in Tempe (January 2004), we will implement
several changes affecting tournaments. The tournament announcement for the upcoming
FTF and future tourneys will reflect these changes.
First, we will eliminate the tourney freeze for all regular DM warrior classes.
Regular DM warriors will not be classed ahead of the tournament, but instead will
fight according to their FE on the date of the tourney. There will still be a freeze
for the ADM classes, occurring on the same timeline as before, approximately 6 weeks
before the tournament.
In addition to the above change, the warrior classes will be slightly altered.
The new tourney classes will be as follows:

DM Tourney Classes ADM Tourney Classes
              ======================              ======================
                  0 FE: Rookies Freshmen
                1-4 FE: Apprentices ADM
               5-10 FE: Initiates Eligibles
              11-20 FE: Adepts ---induction---
              21-30 FE: Champions Contenders
                31+ FE: Challengers Primus

All regular DM tourney classes will remain solely FE based. All ADM classes will
now be based on warrior characteristics (i.e., the ADM split algorithm), including the
Freshmen class.
The Gateway and Primus arenas will be merging before the FTF to form one top
arena. These warriors will be split into two tournament classes, the Contenders and
the Primus classes, again based upon their characteristics. More information on this
will be published in the newsletters for those arenas.
If you have any questions about the above changes, please contact Customer
Service. Good luck in your games.
