TEAM SPOTLIGHT
It was supposed to be spring, but the weather wasn't cooperating. Cold, gray,
rainy, and where were the flowers? His teammate Justine was inclined to see dark
plots in this, but Timmy Tango didn't believe that. It was just an unpleasant but not
surprising trend of the weather. Weather was always doing unpleasant things. The head
woman back at his home tribe said so, and she should know. The gods talked to her,
but they never warned her about the weather. It amused them to make his people's
lives miserable. Even the gods didn't like orcs. That was so unfair, since the gods
must've made them orcs to begin with. They hadn't asked to be born orcish.
Timmy slid down with his back to the stacked tree trunks of the lumber yard,
hunching into his hooded poncho. His contact was late. As usual. You couldn't trust
an elf, especially in weather like this. They didn't like to get their ears wet. He
glimpsed movement off in the darkness and peered toward it. Tall and thin, probably
the elf. He started to stand, then froze as more figures appeared behind the elf.
What the heck? This was supposed to be a secret meeting.
The newcomers closed up around the elf, and there were sounds of a fight. The
newcomers moved apart and away, leaving a long body on the ground.
SPY REPORT
Hail and well met warriors of LIN TIRIAN! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp
Eyes, Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. Former top team YUPPIE SHELTER was
unseated this week as SAND DANCERS moved up from 0th ranking to take the top spot
with a 4-1-0 record for the round. Warriors--remember that glory waits always around
the corner! Witness how this week WRATHMEN went 1-0-0 to move up 6 in the rankings.
TINKER SAMUEL caught the eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as he skillfully
bested M. CHARDINEE and was awarded 19 points in recognition. In one of the week's
more notable duels, DALADMAR put down CLINT, causing him to lose 7 points of
recognition in the process. This time victory fell to the grasp of the usurper. All
hail DALADMAR, Duelmaster of LIN TIRIAN! Informants "close" to the city champion
have told me that he never fights without pantyhose on beneath his armor. Watch out!
I have been in deep conclave with my spies who watched all that has recently
transpired. Indeed there is much I would report. I saw one fighter that warriors
avoided when this week's challenge seeking began. HOWLIN CASE is feared. This much
I can say. Apparently the stalwarts of FAMOUS ARCHERS are catching the bulk of jests
down at the challenging board for their large share of the avoids.
What warrior does not hone his years, impatiently waiting for the moment of his
foe's mortality? Some say a warrior is judged by the way he bears arms. One thing
is sure, better a dagger in hand then a sword on the belt!
A thought before I go. Each warrior practices one style, but must not the wise
manager learn the secrets of them all? Sadly warriors, now longer can I keep thy
company nor savor the ale of thy fine city. Depart I must and soon! Till next we
