Notes from the arena champ.
Well, who would have dreamed little me up there?? I guess that The Clapper
didn't write his Word and was punished. Worse, this guy is not a Rat! Where have
all the Rats gone??
Import-Export was supposed to lead this team, but he is importing more hits than
exporting these days.
My manager is in the blue, being unable to behold our fights...so I will hold
the ground by myself.
Finally, as a testimony for my likely short stay on the throne, I will leave a
golden Rat for you to worship !

SPY REPORT
Hail and well met warriors of SHADOWSPIRE! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp
Eyes, Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. Former top team VIRTUES was unseated
this week as ALE HOUSE MERCS moved up from 3rd ranking to take the top spot with a
3-2-0 record for the round. My praise to DARQUE AGES for their 4-1-1 week this time
out. Indeed, it was a skillfully fought round deserving of notice! CELEGDRAUG
caught the eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as she skillfully bested
DOWNTOWN BROWN and was awarded 27 points in recognition. In one of the week's more
notable duels, CELEGDRAUG put down DOWNTOWN BROWN, causing him to lose 34 points of
recognition in the process. This time out LIATH made hers bid for the throne as she
challenged RAT-LOVING CAT in an all out contest of skill for possession of the title!
Although LIATH made a valiant effort, it did not suffice to topple the reign of
victorious RAT-LOVING CAT. Would you believe that over half of the old women in
SHADOWSPIRE seem to feel that they could fight better than you gladiators?
Many and various are the arts of battle. In SHADOWSPIRE "art" is a word that
has long since passed from the language! SHADOWSPIRE, city of gladiators! Mighty
among the names of thy guilds is KELLUMBO'S KIDS, a guild shunned and avoided by many
in the weekly duels. If you didn't look down dark alleys you'd have been hard
pressed to find any of VIRTUES last week. Busy avoiding KELLUMBO'S KIDS? Mighty
fighters cannot but expect competition from those below. MIRADRAUG take warning!
You have more than a few enemies in SHADOWSPIRE. Give ONYX credit for hers courage.
Did you note how she challenged SLIM despite the 26 point difference in their
rankings? To be sure the battle was a losing one. But I like to think ONYX at least
gave SLIM a run for his money. At the gambling halls I have started to bet money on
DEXTER. He has got the courage it takes. Witness his challenge this turn against
ANGRENDRAUG! I must admit to some joy. Before my very eyes the underdog in this
contest, DEXTER, defeated ANGRENDRAUG to claim victory and recognition. I cannot but
express pride for the fearlessness of MCBAIN who cast caution to the winds and
challenged LLUD, a fighter 34 points higher. The FUCHI OWNED stable will be up late
tonight, for indeed it was MCBAIN who claimed victory in the contest, ascending 18 in
recognition! As a gladiator gets older, the icy grip of fear lays hold of his heart.
True, BRUTUS? Who could miss your "brave" challenge of GRATH? Surprising everyone,
GRATH won victory over BRUTUS, earning 19 points of recognition in the process! A
knave's just desserts are the sweetest victory. I can not but mention with disdain
the name of DEANA who this week posted a challenge to a warrior a full 11 points
below in the rankings. I thought DEANA showed great skill and promise when she was
defeated by GRON DA CAVEMAN. All right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
Is not Death a warrior's foremost adviser? Warriors, may this counselor stand
ready at your right hand forever! Many townsmen have begin to remark over the fact
that after one more round of duels CAROLINA BLUE's Bloodfeud against LUTHERIUS will
have expired. My hearty congratulations '70 SUPERBIRD, for thy revenge upon AWL,
slayer of thy fallen comrade. Next time he will know better, eh? CHUPACABRON must
hold silent, for this week it was humbled in the arena by a successful Bloodfeud won
by CORK of CELTIC PRIDE. Hail CORK for thy victory! Some say a warrior is judged by
the way he bears arms. One thing is sure, better a dagger in hand then a sword on
the belt!
The girls are as pretty in SHADOWSPIRE as ever I remembered them....and the
fighters as ugly! Don't let your reputation slip! More than a sharp eye must I
keep, indeed a stout pair of legs must I keep as well! The endless paths of Alastari
