Notes from the arena champ.
Nice column, noble Lord Exeter! You write as well as you one-shoot most of your
opponents!
My only-kinda-good manager didn't really want me to challenge for the throne,
but it would have been weird not to put my name on the prestigious list of the
Masters of Shadowspire, after spending most of my career on the last steps.
I was named after the Iron Council, with the idea I could hit some Iron, but
most of the Council disappeared before I could do them any harm and I found myself
surrounded by friends, winning aimlessly. I also happened to be a specialist of
defense who never dodged anything... So, I didn't want to be the best-ever failure
in the team, and I am happy to be duelmaster-for-a-day!
As a testimony of that short stay, I will let a small iron Anvil... hum... I
shouldn't write that name, it's one of my most glorious predecessors...

SPY REPORT
Good day, friends and fiends, welcome to your friendly neighborhood spyreport.
I doubt SHADOWSPIRE will ever be the same. It seems the training can make the
difference, as KELLUMBO'S KIDS is pushed out of top team by MONSTER MANUAL, who came
from 5th with a 3-2-0 this turn. It doesn't rain, but it pours for LITERATE LOONS
this turn, a 1-3-0 causing a 14 flight drop in the team rankings. Hand that team a
dry towel. The DRAGONBANE GUILD guild has had a 4-1-0 turn and deserves to be
watched in the future. You never know where this kind of thing can lead. And let's
see, LIBERIUS fought LATRICE and gained 23 points and contributed to WARMASTERS'
2-3-0. W.S. GILBERT has lost to SPIREWOLF, falling 17 points, while helping make
LITERATE LOONS a 1-3-0 turn. GRACCHUS challenged for the Duelmastership this turn,
attempting to dethrone LA PENTARCHIE's warrior. Defending his title for another
turn, IRON SMITH kept WARMASTERS' warrior, GRACCHUS, from claiming the throne. Tell
me, is nothing sacred? I have heard from unimpeachable sources that The Dripping
Blade uses trolls in their stew. Talk about gristle!
The crowd's roar, the smell of iron and leather, mixed with sweat, what more
could a warrior ask of life? Well, besides that. KELLUMBO'S KIDS has cause to stand
tall, as they were SHADOWSPIRE's most avoided team. A smart manager knows this is a
team to beat. And avoiding KELLUMBO'S KIDS more than any other team we find UNHOLY
KNIGHTS. SHADOWSPIRE, are we going to accept, or respect this sort of thing? Well,
sports fans, take notice that LATRICE from KELLUMBO'S KIDS was SHADOWSPIRE's most
challenged warrior this turn. TOM JOAD from JUNGLELAND took a risk this turn by
bravely challenging up 31 points in a challenge against DUCHESS OF ERAT. And now
nobody knows where DUCHESS OF ERAT is right now, after giving TOM JOAD 28 points
worth of recognition. As quiet chuckles rise behind me. In a brave attempt, HEAD
BAND from CAPITAL CARTEL challenged up 18 points to fight SINISTER SNOOPY from the
FURRY FURY stable. HEAD BAND perhaps got his just desserts, seeing as he overcame
SINISTER SNOOPY and ended up with 53 recognition points. WIDOW FAERLINA of OF WOLF
AND MAN had better have a good reason for challenging down 15 points in a challenge
which she lost. I thought WIDOW FAERLINA showed great skill and promise when she was
defeated by VOLAX STEELBORN. All right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
We only live a short time in this world, so why not take a sharp blade, and
shave it close? Is it really true that SHADOWSPIRE has more dishwashers per capita
that fighters? Just thought I'd ask...
Remember, blood on the purple robe does not change it from a purple robe. Dare
to fight bravely. Always good to rest in SHADOWSPIRE, but never good to wear out my
