Notes from the arena champ.
Shaviola smiled as she entered the throne room. Finally! All her hard work had
paid off. Before sliding onto the throne, no HER Throne, she pulled out her twin
scimitars and slid them into scabbards one on each armrest. Her view of the arena
sands was perfect, she could watch as the combatants fought their way up the
rankings, trying to take her seat.
Her manager Tripwire had told her that the top two, Bowtie Bob and Vaca were bad
matchups for her. Especially Bowtie, she had horrible times vs Slashers for some
reason. But she had improved since the last time hadn't she? He didn't think it was
a good idea, but I am the best of the best now! No one shall ascend the throne while
I am here.
Going against his wishes she snapped her fingers and summoned a manservant. She
scribbled her challenges on the page in front of her and nodded, sending him off to
have them put in. Bowtie and Vaca would get their chance. It would be short lived.
Shaviola reigns supreme now for as long as she is here.
Taking off a small signet ring, her family's crest, she placed it in a notched
groove above her head on the backrest. Let them all see that Shaviola was here, it
would be her momento to the throne. It was time to celebrate before her next fight.
SPY REPORT
Well, what are you looking at, SHADOWSPIRE? Ain't you never seen Snide Clemens
before? Ah, shaddup and listen to my news. Later days, FUCHI OWNED, since
SUMMERBORN took top team from you this turn, you guys are old news. DRAGONBANE GUILD
turned their 4-1-0 turn into a 8th place rank in the listings this turn. Any better
than this, and you get put on hit lists. Gee, I'm impressed, a 4-1-0 is nice, but
don't get cocky, FURRY FURY, the Fates teach humility, and the Fates are proud. Of
course, we're all terribly impressed to see BIG BONES BILLIE win a fight and gain 24
points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, BIG BONES BILLIE beat NARYAK and NARYAK lost 29 points.
You're breakin' my heart. Looks like SHADOWSPIRE has some guts at least, SHAVIOLA
the Duelmaster was this turn's most-challenged warrior. NYDERAWYN challenged
SHADOWSPIRE's Duelmaster for a shot at the throne. And if variety is the spice of
life, SHADOWSPIRE may be getting bland, as SHAVIOLA stays top dog in the city. The
Warty Toad, humph! I've tasted better ale at mortuaries. Where do they get this
stuff? From SHADOWSPIRE's trash dumps?
He who fights and runs away will live to fight another day, the coward. What's
the big D? FURRY FURY was the most avoided team? Bunch of lily livered...
grumble... mumble... curse... And who led the way in this mass act of cowardice?
Let's see, well, whatcha know? It was LA PENTARCHIE. Ha ha ha ha! VICTOR was
challenged by one of FUCHI OWNED's warriors this turn, with BOWTIE BOB having a lead
of 21 points going into the fight. And sorry to say, BOWTIE BOB won victory over
VICTOR, leaving a bad feeling with the crowd. I think exploitive snob is the term
I'm looking for. I guess I can give a little credit to EARTH ELEMENTAL of MONSTER
MANUAL for challenging up by 25 to ZIGGY PIKE. EARTH ELEMENTAL lost to get 5 points
of recognition.
Ah, now we come to my favorite part, where we see all the guys who are dead and
gone, and get to see if their team cared. Ya gotta go sometime, and HIPPODAMEIA's
time was this time. Hmmm, not a bad fighter, had she lived... (what? me pity?).
And what a stunning loss we have here, boys and girls, KILGORE of BATTLE GRUNTS has
added the final loss to his 7-6-1. Tee hee! Consider TIAMAT gone, and MONSTER
MANUAL unfeeling, letting the bloodfeud for hers death go unrevenged. We're all
going to die in the end, so why worry if the fate catches up with you sooner that
later?
I was about to buy a new quill pen the other day, but some fighter took it for
