SPY REPORT
Hail and well met warriors of SHADOWSPIRE! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp
Eyes, Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. Former top team BOND-AGE was
unseated this week as SEARCH THE SKY moved up from 4th ranking to take the top spot
with a 2-3-0 record for the round. Fortune did not smile upon LA PENTARCHIE this
time out who this turn suffered a fall into 12th position in the wake of a 1-4-0
round. Warriors--remember that glory waits always around the corner! Witness how
this week OTTO'S DINER went 3-2-0 to move up 7 in the rankings. Did only my eyes
note the 4-1-0 record which DRAGONBANE GUILD managed to post this round? I don't
doubt that such a record will draw challengers! SHADOW WOLF caught the eye of many
in the gladiatorial commission as he skillfully bested ROADKILL SURPRISE and was
awarded 22 points in recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels,
SKULLCLEAVER put down WORD THIEF, causing him to lose 15 points of recognition in the
process. Unwilling to wait upon the will of others, Duelmaster ODDJOB Dark Arena
Challenged SHEWISH GIANT last week in a match to decide the fate of the throne. The
crowds were amazed this turn, as SHEWISH GIANT killed the Duelmaster, ODDJOB, leaving
BOND-AGE in mourning. With bloody hand CLERLEON has ascended to the throne of
champions. Is he that one which is spoken of in the ancient texts? Informants
"close" to the city champion have told me that he never fights without pantyhose on
beneath his armor. Watch out!
Many and various are the arts of battle. In SHADOWSPIRE "art" is a word that
has long since passed from the language! SHADOWSPIRE, city of gladiators! Mighty
among the names of thy guilds is OTTO'S DINER, a guild shunned and avoided by many in
the weekly duels. Methinks more than a few here could name the guild it was that
spent the better part of last week avoiding OTTO'S DINER. Indeed it was CULT OF
BACCHUS. Loose talk at the arena has reached my ears and it but confirms the
knowledge that many fighters are after EDNA MILLAY. Watch your back! A match that
raised a few eyebrows at the games this week, it seems that TURDUCKEN posted a
challenge against the more highly recognized MARTILN. The results, you ask? Well,
the firebrand TURDUCKEN won victory over MARTILN. Remember warriors, this is the
discipline of steel. I can not but mention with disdain the name of FAILED DOG TRICK
who this week posted a challenge to a warrior a full 11 points below in the rankings.
I thought FAILED DOG TRICK showed great skill and promise when he defeated SCIPIO.
All right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
Is not Death a warrior's foremost adviser? Warriors, may this counselor stand
ready at your right hand forever! Some guilds are strict but few are as heartless as
SEARCH THE SKY. Witness, last turn they sent NULLFEST, a 2-0-0 fighter, to the Dark
Arena! Some say a warrior is judged by the way he bears arms. One thing is sure,
better a dagger in hand then a sword on the belt!
If it were not for my skills as a spy I would have been mugged three times
already in SHADOWSPIRE. Nice atmosphere you have here! Sadly warriors, now longer
can I keep thy company nor savor the ale of thy fine city. Depart I must and soon!
