has called and is time for me to go. They so impressed with way I crush Ingrat they
say no need for me to stay. They no think I should use scimitar. They say battle
axe better for me. Fools! I CRUSH THEM!!!! Scimitar good enough to crush

SPY REPORT
If you were disturbed from your beauty rest only to have to watch a bunch of
SHADOWSPIRE brutes like you, you'd be grouchy, too. If this keeps up, OF WOLF AND
MAN, you'll have to shine swords instead of use them. A drop of 6 in the rankings?
CULT OF BACCHUS turned their 4-1-0 turn into a 1st place rank in the listings this
turn. Any better than this, and you get put on hit lists. Now let's all watch SOME
KINDA HATE's heads swell from their 3-1-0 this turn. Haa ha ha ha! Big shots, big
talk, big deal. Of course, we're all terribly impressed to see MR BLUE win a fight
and gain 19 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, MR BLUE beat LORD PEMBROKE and LORD PEMBROKE
lost 17 points. You're breakin' my heart. Going for broke or broken, our Duelmaster
SANTA CLAUS challenged this turn. And it's out with the old, in with the new, as
SANTA CLAUS takes the Title and last week's bar tab from the old Duelmaster. Heh,
heh. The Dripping Blade, humph! I've tasted better ale at mortuaries. Where do
they get this stuff? From SHADOWSPIRE's trash dumps?
Well, let's take a look at some more misdeeds of you miserable sword-boys.
What's the big D? FURRY FURY was the most avoided team? Bunch of lily livered...
grumble... mumble... curse... And it looks like CULT OF BACCHUS avoided them the
most this turn. What a pack of would be losers, if you ask me. Hmph. AXEL VON
SPIRE was challenged more times this turn than the Duelmaster. Now was the DM
insulted or feared? Heh, heh. Looks like time for laurels or hemlock, CAEDMON was
challenged by EYE OF THE DEEP, who was ranked 39 points below him. And, oof! EYE OF
THE DEEP saw stars around his helmet, after losing the fight, and disappointing the
crowds, I might add. I guess I can give a little credit to STALKER COONE of BIG LAKE
OUTCASTS for challenging up by 25 to OSIRUS. STALKER COONE lost to get 3 points of
recognition.
Some people like volunteer work in the hospitals. I volunteer for SHADOWSPIRE's
morgue. More variety. Gee, OF WOLF AND MAN, ain't it past due for sending MOROS
Dark Arena? What took ol' '4-7-1' so long? Hope? Ha ha aha ha! A big yahoo goes
out to GORSHOK this turn, for revenging SOME KINDA HATE's bloodfeud against
WARMASTERS' warrior SEJANUS. Heh, heh, heh. Honor is like a chainmail shirt, it
only shines through use. Certain nameless cowards will doubtless rebuke me on this
one.
There's got to be a better place in SHADOWSPIRE to get a drink than The Dripping
Blade! Any suggestions? Well, I've had enough of this drivel, and I'm sure you have

All -- For those interested in such things, Caedmon was 9(1)-12-8-17-21-5-13 PR. He
was +2 ATT and +4 DEF, though I'd had hope for some PAR bonus (certainly am not
complaining)! The faves were less than stellar. According to the Commission,
Caedmon likes the SS, along with a LO/VL rhythm. He also really likes the Parry
tactic and learns Parry skills. Eh, the parry parts aren't so bad for his style. He
is off to AD 100 for future considerations. I won't be sending him to the Dark Arena
on his last turn in Shadowspire, so everyone feel free to get one last shot in on him

There was a line outside the Gladiatorial Commission's registry office. There
often was, but surely not now? Alarond the Scribe, who had drawn office duty today,
frowned at them.
A stocky, fit, moderately handsome gladiator stepped up to the counter. "I want a
name-change," he said. "How can I do my best known as," he shuddered, "'Dangling
Eyeball'? My name is Joe, and I want to use it."
A small and very shapely woman stepped up beside him. "And I am really tired of
being known as 'DA Bait'." She smiled, causing Alarond to sway where he stood. "I'd
like to be known as... Aphrodite, I think."
The others crowded forward, each advancing a claim, the babble of voice rising to
a roar, the crowd beginning to look like a mob--and every member of it armed and
dangerous.
Alarond raised his hands to quiet them, without much success. He raised his
voice, too. "We'll do it! A Name-Change-O-Rama, as soon as we can get the paperwork
lined up! Two or three months, maybe--"
The gladiators howled in protest at the delay.
"No, listen! The files here are HUGE, it will take time to get everything
straight. You've got to be patient. It WILL happen!"
