DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Greetings, Shadowspire! It has been a long few years of no dueling, however we
couldn't be happier being back and on the throne our second turn as well. My stay on
the throne is brief with my immediate invite, however; I will gladly retire as an
immortal Lord. No one thought I could do such a thing--I am living proof any
replacement rollup can win. Oh the joy! The life of early retirement! I will visit
often and make appearanaces because, well, this town has been good to me and I have
all the time in the world!
Turns out my favorite learn is Parry and weapon the Great Axe, of course! My godling
stats are: 21-12-11-17-9-5-10(1), BA. I was not gifted in damage, or well-designed,
and my manager couldn't be happier to see me go and is just glad I didn't ruin our
team record like the other Basher on the team....
Farewell, Shadowspire! Actually, I'll be here a lot, so see you around the watering
holes!

SPY REPORT
Welcome SHADOWSPIRE. I, Olaf Modeen remember this place well. Many the fights
have I fought here. The celebrations, the disappointments... Up 'n down. Up 'n
down. Rankings always change. Up 'n down. I think I'm gonna be... Well, FURRY
FURY's 8th moved them up to 3-2-0 place. It seems so recently people were saying
SOME KINDA HATE was washed up, finished. But 4-1-1 moved them up 5. I guess they're
washed no more... What's with SIMO HAYHA? He actually beat FURRY FURY's BRINDLE
BADGER, and walked away with 46 more points from the fight. Major screwup at
EINHERJAR. ROLLO lost 20 points to CERYOSHE. Some new strategies, perhaps? Maybe
ROLLO will provide more easy wins... SHADOWSPIRE has a Duelmaster who doesn't sit
back and get lazy. He challenged DARQUE AGES' MAIMONIDES (16-17-0), which should
prove (ahem!) interesting. Try as he might, MAIMONIDES wasn't good enough at
persuading NYDERAWYN to step down from the Duelmaster's throne... I suppose you want
to hear some rumors and dirty gossip about your fellow fighters? Tough!
If at first you don't succeed, avoid. That'll get you in the Spyreports.
SHADOWSPIRE thinks THE COMMODORES and their 68-87-1 is too much! If at first you
don't succeed, give up... Management must be dealin', as the boys at NBA LEGENDS
ain't reelin'! THE COMMODORES' mad! What do people see in SMUSHI? His 2-3-1?
OTTO'S DINER ain't talkin', but he's got 10 points. CALIGULA expects the easy win by
going 16 points down. JUIBLEX will find this a hard lesson! I have to get this off
my chest. What a low dog, CALIGULA! He can't set himself up in a real match. I was
sorry to see JUIBLEX lose. Keep challenging up 32 points, HAVANA BLACK, and I won't
have to write about you much longer. THELONIUS always accepts those kind of
challenges... Sometimes what you expect to do (like in the fights) doesn't expect to
turn out like you thought. HAVANA BLACK subdued THELONIUS. It don't make sense.
SOME KINDA PATE of OTTO'S DINER knows how to pick 'em. He challenged GUY DE CHAULIC
of DARQUE AGES who is up by 19. Now was this a wise move? SOME KINDA PATE perhaps
got his just desserts, seeing as he overcame GUY DE CHAULIC and ended up with 96
recognition points. I hate going to the effort of writing about the kind of fights
that ALCESTE gets in. It fights people like DUCK OF DEATH, 11 points below. I
thought ALCESTE showed great skill and promise when it subdued DUCK OF DEATH. All
right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
Warriors of SHADOWSPIRE unite. You have only your games to lose! So OTTO'S
DINER sent FLIED LICE to the Dark Arena. Big deal. Plenty more fighters where FLIED
LICE came from. Dime a dozen... Now, Spyreporters... SIMO HAYHA killed BRINDLE
BADGER, and expects revenge from FURRY FURY. The dead are better off dead--they have
no worries. DJEREE THE DJERK was plum wore out after LOST LETTER pounded 'im silly
in a Bloodfeud. THE MONGOLOIDS II'll have to get a little better before going after
LOST LETTER again! Someone told HADRIAN that BIG LAKE OUTCASTS never Bloodfeuded,
that he'd have an easy kill. Well, I'm sure whoever misled you is right sorry.
DICKY TOURVILLE larned his lesson (RINGO DEATHSTAR taught it well), and we right
likely won't be seein' 'im fight any CULT OF BACCHUS members with the same gusto.
Someone told LISHCHKA that DRAGONBANE GUILD never Bloodfeuded, that she'd have an
easy kill. Well, I'm sure whoever misled you is right sorry. GUNNAR COTTON was plum
wore out after ROCKFORD pounded 'im silly in a Bloodfeud. BIG LAKE OUTCASTS'll have
to get a little better before going after ROCKFORD again! Is it my imagination, or
are fighters getting younger every day? To die so young, so gloriously!
Who knows what the future holds for a warrior. More fights, there's no doubt.
