Doctor! What do you call a warrior that graduates with the worst record for their
respective style? He or she (and sometimes it) is still an immortal Lord Protector.

THE PEP TALK
A female Kannar strolled into the office. her coarse, wild hair spilled down her
neck, but was held back from her brown eyes by a brace of tortoise shell combs.
"Yer late," growled Havoc.
"I just heard you were looking for me," smiled Zenith. Without pause or waiting
to be asked, she nodded at the burly figure behind the desk and plunged gracefully
into the stout chair facing him.
"I told Astri to get yer butt over here'bout an hour ago!"
Zenith shrugged as she glanced over teh spacious, albeit cluttered, desk. "I
just finished with the morning exercises," she sighed. "I had to bather first, didn't
I?"
Havoc made an noncommittal grunt and put on his fiercest glare, but Zenith merely
crossed her legs, met his eyes coolly, and offered a small smile.
She had pretty good legs, he noted. Musculare and well-defined. Havoc growled
to himself and met her eyes fully again. He thought he detected a slight gleam of
laughter. This did not meke him feel happy.
"Ya wanna explain yer thinkin' in that last fight?! The one against..." Havoc
shuffled briefly amongst the muddle on his desk. "The one with that kitty cat from
Furry Fury?"
Zenith's humor evaporated into a wary thoughfulness. "What about it? She out-
lasted me, that's all."
"Really?!" Havox pounded the desktop with his meaty fist. "You were winnin'
'til ya broke yer quarterstaff!"
"Yeah, I was there."
"Well?! What happended?!"
Zenith shurgged and seemed to sink a little into the chair. "I don't know. She
seemed pretty clumsy one minute, then she'd come back with a parry or a cut or lunge
that just - it just - threw me off my timing a little, I guess."
Yeah, yeah." Havoc shoved his chair back and stood, leaning over the desk as he
glared into Zenith's eyes. This time she seemed a little frightened. This made him a
little happier. "Ya missed just about every attack ya threw at her. It was
embarrassin'!"
"I'm more of a defensive type," Zenith offered, calloused palms extended in a
placating gesture.
"Yer more of a disappointment," Havoc retorted. "But maybe we can do somethin'
'bout that. Yer goin' back to the practice yard! Yer goin' to try attacking again -
this time with a couple of different weapons."
Zenith frowned. "It's almost time for lunch, and then I'm supposed to..."
"Never mind!" Havoc interrupted. "Ain't nuthin' more important than good
training."
Havoc walked around the desk and opend the door. "I got a few choices ready for
ya to try out in the practice yard. Quark's gonna help ya out." He allowed himself
to sigh deeply. "God knows he's another one that needs the extra practice!"
Zenith rose and drifted toward the door. She paused on the threshold. "What if
that fighter ws just better than me?"
Havoc snorted and slammed the door in her face. She had to jump back to avoid
getting hit.
"Not with that record," he murmured to himself.
SPY REPORT
Hello, hello, hello! Welcome to turn 221 here in glorious Shadowspire! We have lots
of news to cover this cycle, so let's get right to it shall we?
Trog was on his way out as Duelmaster one way or another. He received his invite to
the Isle last week, so he was going to step down from the throne with a win under his
belt, or some upstart was going to send him packing bloodied and bruised. If you
picked option #2, then you are a winner! There is no prize except pride in a guess
well made! Djeree the Djerk made his move for the championship against Trog and
walked away the winner. It took 6 minutes to seal the deal, but Djeree was one of the
week's most popular so it was not a boring match! Congrats to Otis and his Mongoloids
squad on the title.
NBA Legends had a rough go at last turn with a 1-4 turn. They redeemed themselves and
jumped into the Current Top Team spot this turn with a 5-0-1. On the flip side of NBA
Legends good fortune is Inebriation. Their 1-4-0 drops them 8 spots to 21. A hearty
welcome back is in order for JE and his Errata team. It has been a long time since
they graced the sands of Shadowspire. It is out with the old and in with the new as
Aragorn replaces his Philanthropists with the new and improved Philanthropists 2. The
new team starts with a 2-3-1 turn, which gives them a leg up on the original squad
which entered on turn 50 at 1-4-0. Good luck to Aragorn with the fresh start!
It looks like Mordraith gets the honor being this turn's most avoided. Vanek turned
down any potential challenges from the Some Kinda Hate guild more than any other.
Rummer got more challenges that anyone this turn, including the Duelmaster. A 9-4-1
warrior in the Challenger Champions is certainly going to attract attention from
managers. Some Kinda Pate got the go-ahead and defeated Rummer in a 1 minute
challenge.
War Machine continues to suffer the ire of Some Kinda Hate. The enmity between the
two teams is well-known if one pays attention to the talk between cycles. This time
Mr Brain Smasher challenged down 5 to Havana Black. Mr Brain Smasher was certainly
surprised when he lost the match. An even bigger dip downward saw Loser DeGotti of
Big Lake Outcasts go down 10 points to Humdrum of Dragonbane Guild. No big surprises
on this one, but Loser DeGotti beats Humdrum. Will Nomad retaliate?
Death comes for us all, this is a fact of life. Will he find us standing bravely
awaiting his arrival, or running seeking to avoid the inevitable? Rogues Den lost two
warriors this turn. Cult of Bacchus and Wicked Martyrs may need to prepare themselves
for blood feuds next turn. One of the most interesting deaths came via a down
challenge. Colorado Bull dipped down a few points to fight Pho C. Philthy Phil was
certainly shocked to see Pho C execute Colorado Bull in a one-sided fight.
No new graduates this turn, but we bid farewell to Trog and Hadrian as they have
fought their last battles in our fair arena. We wish both of you well on the Isle.
May you bring honor to Shadowspire in whatever you choose to do with your new
immortality.

he likes a MO/LO rhythm, INI skills, and the WH. While he learned great, the low WL
and only Good Damage cost him more than a few fights. If I make another BA, it will
have more WL and I'll use the 21 WT on another style.
