SPY REPORT
Good afternoon, duel fans! It is a rainy day here in Shadowspire with the
occasional lightning flash. Gladiators have been warned not to raise their weapons
too high during a duel or in celebration after a win. Nothing stops the game from
going forward. There has been talk of employing weather wizards to control the
forecast on fight days, but I think that is a horrible idea! The elements add a new
dimension to the games. Enough talking about the weather, onto the games!
Misfortune Cookie took the throne last turn and today was the first opportunity
he had to defend it. There were no challenges for the throne, at least none that made
it through to the Duelmaster. The Duelmaster himself also did not issue any
challenges, at least none that were accepted. So, we find ourselves with a random
match up for the Title fight! Powder Monkey of Shanghaied got the call to face
Misfortune Cookie on the sands. He made the best of his opportunity too and beat
Misfortune Cookie in a 1 minute bout. Congrats to our new Duelmaster, Powder Monkey,
who is managed by Blackhart.
The most avoided team for the turn was Big Lake Solution. They were most avoided
by Kill Em All. The most challenged warrior for the turn M'Lord from the Cult of
Bacchus squad. He was challenged by the higher ranked and more experienced Chicken
Hawk of Kill Em All. Chicken Hawk seems a fitting name under the circumstances. In a
fight that did not surprise or entertain anyone in the arena, Chicken Hawk defeated
M'Lord in a 2 minute fight.
Wicked Martyrs remains the top team with a 9-6-0 record. Along with Shanghaied
at 4th, Wicked Martyrs were the only teams to remain in the top 5 from last turn.
Kill Em All moved up from 8th to 2nd with a 4-1-0 turn. Pray the Gods had an
impressive gain jumping to 3rd from 12th. Otto's Diner moved up 1 spot to 5th to
round out the top 5. The biggest gain of the turn belongs to the aforementioned Pray
the Gods with a 9 spot gain. The biggest loss goes to Monster Manual, who fell down 5
spots to 8th.
There are only 2 deaths to report for the turn. One was a first turn Dark Arena
death, which rarely draws any attention. This one was no different. The other death
happened in the Challenger Champions, so it gets a bit more space in our report.
Clara D'Anduza of Darque Ages challenged Slaycia of Cult of Bacchus. Hindsight is
20/20 and no doubt Clara would want to take this challenge back! Slaycia killed Clara
in a short 1 minute fight. It wasn't even close from all the reports!
It is time for me to be off! I'm sure Huard and his arrogant self will be here
next turn as I travel to the Tournament of the Dead. None of the other SYP reporters
are brave enough to venture to an arena filled with the walking dead and death magic
all around. I'm not a fan of it myself, but the news must be reported! I am sure I
will see you in a few cycles! Come back next turn to see if Powder Monkey can hold on
to the throne or if any team is going to be able to topple Wicked Martyrs from the Top
Team spot.
