Notes from the arena champ.
First time Duelmaster, long time player. What an honor! Years away from the game
and finding myself on top. Who coulda thunk it? The reflexes ain't slowed, the timing
ain't gone, if anything I've been getting better with age!
Now normally a guy like me, out of the game a long time, would have no time for
broads. But I seen this beautiful young gal exiting the sands after the previous fight
and asks her her name.
"Rutu."
Now I like a pretty lass as much as the next guy, and that name didn't make much
sense to me, so I asks her again.
"Rutuuu!"
Well, I remember the olden days and I know a gal like this can't resist my
charms, even if she has a silly name, so I slink my way in... One more time, my love?
"Ruutooooo!!!!!"
A blade falls down, followed by general uncomfortableness.....
A badly bruised Ring Lardner arises. "Alright, alright, I gotcha. It's a brave
new world here in Shadowspire, lotsa things to catch up on, but geez..... whatta dame.

SPY REPORT
Good afternoon, duel fans! Welcome to the jewel of no tourney arenas! Welcome
to our jewel, also known as Shadowspire! Huard DePriest here to tell you all you need
to hear about our glorious turn 314. Are you ready? That was a rhetorical question
because I don't care if you are ready! Let's look at the action!
Literate Loons returned to us a few turns ago and did not take much time to
reacquaint themselves with arena life. Ring Lardner took over the throne, the
Chartered Recognition Leader, and the Popularity Leader boards. You heard it here,
folks! Ring is proof that absence does make the heart grow fonder! Hominid decided
that he wanted some of Ring's good fortune and posted a challenge to our Duelmaster.
It wasn't even close! Ring Lardner keeps the throne and also got a nice invitation to
the Isle of the Eye. It looks as if he can seek out a 2nd date with Rutu Parna if he
so desires. Ring Lardner is Literate Loons' 14th graduate from Shadowspire, putting
them in 10th place for total graduates. He is also the 2nd Lunger from Sherman's crew
to get an invite to the Isle. Congrats to Sherman, Literate Loons, and certainly to
our Duelmaster Ring Lardner!
The most avoided team for the turn is Pray the Gods. They are most avoided by
Cult of Bacchus. The most challenged warrior is Subpar Sue. You would think with a
name like that she wouldn't have too many suitors. I mean Even Sue or A1 Sue for
sure, but subpar? Tours of Darque Ages, a man of questionable character and decision-
making, got his challenge through to Sue. It was a quick back-and-forth match, but
Tours came out victorious. He still landed behind Subpar Sue in the rankings. Ha!
What does that say about Tours?
There were a few deaths this turn, three to be exact. Otto sent a Bad Tipper to
the Dark Arena. The other deaths occurred on the regular sands in the daylight. Tom
Fehlen fell on the wratch of Scorned Beef. I'm not sure if this was a fighting death
or food poisoning. It really doesn't matter, does it? The result is all the same.
Tom Fehlen is dead! OHS Alumni must believe in balance because they proceeded to the
sands and killed a warrior in protest. It was from a different team, but if symmetry
is important to you, you can't get hung up on too many details. Jamie Barton slew
Grav Gun in a challenge match. I can never tell if these things are intentional or
not. I mean, it is hard to see facial expressions or read lips from my place in the
stands.
Darque Ages takes over the top team spot, moving up from 4th place after a 4-1-0
turn. Literate Loons shows everyone there isn't too much rust on their joints and
move into 2nd place. Cult of Bacchus jumped 4 spots to 3rd after a 3-2-0 effort.
Otto's Diner slips one down into 4th, and Ganolus's crew, Oakleaf, has the largest
gain of the turn moving from 10th to 5th. The biggest drops for the turn belong to
the absent Kill 'Em All and Pray the Gods, but since they are not here, we do not talk
about them. I mean we talk about them, but behind their backs like we are supposed
to!
Are you ready to get out of here? It was another rhetorical question, I don't
care if you are ready to get out of here. I'm ready to go! Join us next turn when we
will get a new Duelmaster. Lots of guys and gals in the Challenger Champions, so your
guess is as good as mine. Not really, but I like to make you feel good about

SUMMER FACE-TO-FACE IN TAMPA, FLORIDA
We have planned our summer FTF for July 19-21, 2019, in Tampa, Florida. It will be
held at the Embassy Suites Tampa Airport Westshore. Room rates are $125 per night,
1-2 occupancy. There's free wireless throughout the property as well as a fitness
center, outdoor pool, and business center, as well as a resturant and bar inside the
hotel. They have the usual Embassy Suites amenities we know and love: complimetary
cooked-to-order breakfast and evening reception, plus there's a free airport shuttle
and parking is only $4/day. The rooms are blocked -- ask for the Reality Simulations
block (RSS). Reservations must be made by 6/20.
