SPY REPORT
We are back in The Spire and there is not a better place to be in all of Alastari! We
have fights, fights, and more fights! We have title defenses, down challenges, a rat
problem in the pens, and a lingering aroma on the arena's northside that borders on
the criminal. Yes, folks, we have it all here in dear ol' arena 81! So, let's sit
back and enjoy the ride today as I give you all the info that is worth knowing on our
little slice of the sandy heavens!
Our Duelmaster coming into this turn was on his way out thanks to immortality, so we
were certain to get a new guy or gal on the throne! These turns can be super exciting
or a big let down. I guess that all depends on your perspective. On one hand, you
have an immortal Lord Protector fighting his last turn in the arena. Does he have
enough grit to finish strong? If he loses, the answer is obvious who should be champ.
It is when the out-going Duelmaster loses that there are questions. Who decided
recognition points were the best option? Maybe it should be the Popularity Leader or
the best-looking (oh sorry, I must decline the throne at this time - spy reporting
keeps me too busy to accept a Duelmaster title)!
Wrothgarr, our former Duelmaster, wins his last fight, so we have to go to recognition
for the new occupant. Anyway, our new Duelmaster is Ridwan. He has been shooting up
the ranks as of late and took matters into his own hands this turn to take over as
The Spire's top warrior. Ridwan challenged (cough, cough, down) to Terminator. What
is 37 points down among warriors? It is apparently a lot because Novgorodny would not
stop talking about it! Ridwan wins in a fight that wasn't even close and only took a
minute. Congrats to Ridwan who is managed by Vlad.
Did you get a new weapons supplier? The death count in this arena is a bit on the low
side. If not for the Dark Arena, I'm not sure if you nancys would even know what
blood on the sands looked like! Ilyena, from the newly activated Vincere Aut Mori
III, killed Ann Pelleteir. And in a kill that can only be described as stuperpicious,
Weavy Stunder put Captain Black down. All the other deaths were in the Dark Arena.
Y'all need to crank up the bloodlust a bit! I also want to thank you gents for
breaking my golem's spellcheck!
Congrats to Kill 'Em All for taking over the top team spot with an 11-4-1 record.
Also, I am super impressed by Memory's 71 point gain for the turn to snag the Top Team
on the Move. It is more impressive when you consider this is a no tourney arena, so
no hidden gains in recognition from tourney fights. Shout out to Bouvines for getting
invited to the Isle of the Eye. And finally, we bid farewell to Wrothgarr, who leaves
us with a win over Barnacle Bill. Have fun on the Isle!
As much as it pains you, I must take my leave! No weeping! I will return in 2 weeks
to do it all over again. In the meantime, how about we put someone on discovering
that mystery smell on the northside. Also, we may need to look for a few missing arena
managers. I figure tournament time drags a few of them away, which is odd with us
being a no tourney arena. Okay, time to go for real! See you in 2 weeks!
