Notes from the arena champ.
Well, I did find the fight with Curious Aggression to be rather
curious, but there was nothing aggressive about it. He just stood
there and let me hit him from time to time. I sure thought I was
going to pass out from boredom. It wasn't the fight that bored me, it
was my opponent who kept talking about his intimacy issues that
stemmed from a bad relationship with his mother that he has now
transferred to his manager. He did not say any of that outright, but
I read between the lines of his false bravado. Plus, if you just look
beyond his stupid face and it is plain to see!
Anyway, hopefully, I won again and I'm sitting pretty on the throne.
If not, then I'll try to get back or try to get to the Isle. If I
die, well, that is the nature of the game we play. Darque says it is
a bit more permanent here in Shadowspire since we can't participate in
the Dead Tournaments. I'll just take his word for it, I don't even
know what a Dead Tournament is.

SPY REPORT
What in the 99 hells is going on in this arena? I get the turn report from the
golems and immediately think there must be some mistake in the reports. I call
maintenance up to take a look, but they assure me the golems are functioning
correctly. Balderdash! Let's see if I have the emotional (and intestinal fortitude)
to make it through today's spy report!
What has me in such a tizzy? Where should I even begin . . . First, you let a
Piker take the glorious throne last turn! Yes, you heard that correctly. A Parry
Strike took the throne of Shadowspire last turn by winning a fight against the
previous Duelmaster. It was not based on recognition. There was no illegal
maneuvering! It was just a straight up fight and the Piker won. Hey, mistakes happen,
but they can be quickly rectified, so I open my report this afternoon and see that the
same blasted Piker is still on the throne! What has gotten into you people? Have you
no sense of pride? What failed in our system to allow such an abomination to happen
in this wonderful arena? I just can't! Congrats to Snollygoster, again . . . I
think. Up is down and down is up right now, not sure what I'm supposed to say through
the tears!
My second gripe comes when I look to the Popularity Leader for the arena and what
should I see? Another PIKER looking back at me! What in the world?!?! We have a
Piker as Duelmaster and Chartered Recognition Leader. We have a Piker as Most Popular
and the nightmare doesn't stop there This Turn's Most Popular is another Piker [rips
reports and throws them into the air like confetti]. Madness! Madness, I declare!
How fitting that our newest team in the arena is named Madness! Coincidence? Who
knows, I got no answers at the moment and lots of day drinking is in my future. I
mean, you think you know the ins and outs of this job, and then you come in and have a
day like today!
Our most avoided team for the turn is Pray the Gods. They were mostly avoided by
Big Lake Solution. The most challenged warrior today was NOT our Piker Duelmaster.
No, it was Grerdas from Memory. Tomahawk challenged down by 30 FE and 17 points only
to get his tail handed to him. I think it was his tail, there was so much blood after
it ended I couldn't make heads or tails of him. So, we'll go with tail! Welcome to
Eli and his Madness crew. Thanks for introducing yourselves! We had some bums not
make it back to fight this turn either Hombre, Philthy, and Blackhart were missing.
They probably heard about all the Pikers! Who can blame them?

Greetings. It is I, Eli coming to you with my new squad. Fittingly named Madness,
after reviewing the talent on this team, I would have to be completely mad to think
that they will be anything special. That being said, I like DM 20, so I thought Id
branch out to the other non tourney arena and make up for my lack of presence anywhere
else. Currently, aside from ADM, I have DM 20, one left in dm 2, and one currently
running in dm 41. I have relegated the remainder of my warriors to tourny only until
such time as I think that they will perform well in regular arena play. I had the
misfortune of believing that arenas by and large were fair, but after experiencing a
local tournament in dm 5 where the idea was to have new teams compete for certain
achievements, it was obvious that several managers had brought in ringers that had
several tournament fights under their belts albeit records that on the face of it
where under the rule set..So at least here and in DM 20, there will not be any of that
nonsense, and win or lose it wont be because managers cheat. Well, at least not in the
above sense at any rate. To think that I would eventually learn that there are people
