SPY REPORT
Welcome back to The Spire. My name is Huard DePriest and I'll be guiding you bums
through this week's spy report. It will tell you everything that is worth knowing in
this little piece of the heavens we call Shadowspire. I am a bit bummed today due to
some sad news but don't worry, I got more than enough steam to make it through this
spy report and even try to explain it in a way you gents will understand. So, you
know, no big words or complex thoughts - elementary stuff like your educations! Okay,
let's get to it already!
Thomas Merton was our Duelmaster the time you gladiators were on the sands. He got
the opportunity to test his mettle against any challengers this turn and prove his win
over Narsil wasn't a fluke! So, how did ol' Tom perform this week with all eyes on
him? Well, first we have to talk about Telp, who was ready to take that next big step
in his dueling career by challenging for the throne! Thomas Merton met Telp on the
sands and . . . Thomas Merton is still our Duelmaster! It was a longer title fight at
5 minutes, but the people did not look disappointed. Congrats to Thomas again, and I
guess another congrats is in order since he was invited to the Isle. Duelmaster and
Lord Protector Thomas Merton is managed by Sherman.
With Thomas Merton's graduation, Sherman is one style away from joining the exclusive
Round Robin Club of Shadowspire. According to SYP records, he only needs a Wall of
Steel graduate to complete the 10 style achievement. Thus far, only 7 managers have
graduated all 10 styles from the same team in Shadowspire.
In news that shocks no one, Kill 'Em All is the most avoided team and they were mostly
avoided by Pray the Gods. In news that will be a surprise to a few of you, our most
challenged warrior was OUR DUELMASTER! Yes! It is a rarity these days, but Thomas
Merton was the most challenged warrior for the turn. We have already covered his
fight, so there is nothing new to report since the last paragraph. He won.

On a much more serious note, Shadowspire along with the whole D2 community bids
farewell to Otto, manager of Otto's Diner last week. Otto (Erik) lost his battle with
cancer, and we are all saddened at his passing. He was a great manager and a better
person. He was always ready with a joke or a movie reference, and was known for his
clever D2 names. We offer our condolences to his family and close friends and grieve
with them in their loss.

1-4 turn. That was painful, not only did I lose 4 but Tymir my promising newbie died
in his challenge. Oh well Trent will again be my Bloodfeud guy, and no hard feelings
if he kills your guy, I wont be trying to kill but it is a pretty big down challenge.
As per my usual, win or lose there will only be one bloodfeud challenge since it was
my challenge. Mallory finally won one, he still is underperforming skill-wise but I
like his stats so as long as he doesn't die I'll try to keep him around. Liam is going
to the dark arena. I have officially given up on TP as a valid style. I have one in
adm and that is enough. The new guy Waldo is an idiot, but I'm going to run him
anyway. RPB has a nice rollup, but we will see if he survives since Tymir also had a
even better roll up and died in his second fight. Upside is RPB is ambidextrous so at
least there is a bonus to attack. Oh well. Life as a duelmasters GM. -- Eli
