SPY REPORT
Here we go again with news from The Spire! It has been an exciting day here at the
arena. I mean, I guess it has been exciting. I make it exciting wherever I go, so I
just assume everyone else partakes of that magic aura that I emit. No? Well, surely
the problem is you and not me! I'm fabulous! Oh, I'm Huard DePriest, spy reporter
extraordinaire, and I will be your guide today through all the news worth knowing for
Shadowspire.
I would go on this long diatribe about being inactive and blah, blah, blah, but
seriously, I don't think it would accomplish much. Our former Duelmaster and her team
did not show up this turn, so we had to find a new champion. Well, Disvenya was gone
after this turn anyway, so we were going to have to find a new champion anyway. We
had to go to recognition points to crown a new Duelmaster, but it wasn't that bad of a
match, so no complaints. Velina from Cult of Bacchus was matched up with Telp of
Wicked Martyrs for our title fight. Both warriors came with respectable records and
hovering in the Challenger Champions. It was a quick and rather one-sided affair once
the arena master gave the signal to start as Telp defeated Velina rather easily.
Congrats to Telp, who is managed by DMobster.
The most avoided team today is Mirkwood Orcs, which isn't surprising as they have a
number of warriors in the upper ranks. They were mostly avoided by Clan Longbeard.
No history between these teams that I can see, so it was probably just game stragery .
.. statee . . . strategery, dang it! Whatever! That guy avoided! That guy avoided
the most! You get it! Make of it what you will! The most challenged warrior is Mage
Dan. I can see why he would draw some attention. His record is lopsided and he has a
lot of TP-styled warriors around him. Larry Bird got the call, but he wasn't able to
make this shot count. Mage Dan beat Larry in a 1-minute bout.
Not a lot of deaths this turn. Gurthang decided to challenge the Dark Arena for his
exit fight. He drew Bandit Prince and it was a lengthy 4-minute fight. Gurthang
leaves with another win and kill added to his record. Good luck on the Isle of the
Eye! I've already mentioned that Disvenya was absent, so no farewell fight for the
masses to enjoy. Telp did get a graduation notice after taking the throne, so we will
get another farewell match next turn. We will also be getting a new Duelmaster. The
only other death that occurred outside of the Dark Arena came in our final match of
the day when Otto's Fry Guy killed Swift. Novices have a tendency to over-swing, and
I think we saw a lot of that here. Condolences to Madness for their loss.
Time for the big finish, which is just essentially me telling you guys you are a bunch
of bums and unworthy of my attention and spy reporting skill. There is then a brief
moment of recognition in my mind that I need this job to buy booze. I then dial it
back a bit and encourage you to come back next turn. So, let's get this done so I can
go home. You guys are horrible, and you smell of parental disappointment and weapon
