SPY REPORT
Duelmasters are leaving us quickly, so we have to keep replenishing the throne with
fresh meat. The seat doesn't get warm before a warrior is shipped off to the Isle of
the Eye, and we have to get a new champion for The Spire. As it so happens, Reclan
got the chair and an invite on the same turn. He also failed to show up for his final
fight in our arena, so we are left with only one solution to find a new Duelmaster -
recognition points . . . again. The big title fight came down to Sgt. York
challenging Saul Bellow for all the accolades. Saul was able to overcome Sgt. York in
a 1-minute fight. Congrats to Saul Bellow on his ascension to the throne. He did not
get an invite to the Isle, so there will be a proper title defense next turn.
We had 4 deaths this turn, and some coincidental happenings are associated with it!
There was not a win among any of the warriors that died today. That wouldn't be
groundbreaking news if they were all Dark Arena deaths. But, I bet you can guess from
my excitement that they were not! Thomas Malory and Ptooey died in the daylight with
a final combined record of 0-9. The other deaths were two deaths by torchlight, and
that brings the total losses for all deaths this turn to 0-13.
Congrats to Otto's Busboy and Anton Chekhov for getting invited to immortality and
island accommodations, compliments of the Gladiatorial Commission. They won't be
inducted into the Shadowspire Hall of Fame, but DO NOT downplay the accomplishment of
getting a warrior to the advanced arenas, especially from a no-tourney arena. Death
is a bit more permanent in our circles since the Greywand forbids our participation in
Ahringol's October blessing. It is a long trek for even the best warriors, so
tonight, we celebrate Mr. Chekhov and the Busboy! Congrats warriors and to your
managers for seeing you through to the end of your Basic career.
Gladiators were running for the toilet paper today. No, that isn't right! It looks
like Toilet Paper was running from the other gladiators. They avoided Dragonbane
Guild the most for turn 441. Our most challenged warrior was Privid. Wicked Martyrs'
warrior fought Urmar in a 2-minute uneven fight. With a 20-35 record, I predict we
will see Privid on our most challenged list more in the future.
I'll see you bums in a few weeks. There is a tournament popping up this weekend. I
will probably try to mosey on down to see what is happening. Just because I'm the spy
reporter for a no-tourney arena doesn't mean I don't enjoy the tournament fights.
What is not to love? Loads of fights over a few days with death and mayhem. There is
usually lots of booze too. You get to hobnob with lots of different people. And I
didn't mention it, I'd like to point out the booze! Okay, I'm out. Come back and see
