SPY REPORT
Welcome back to The Spire, where the blood is fresh, the grudges are legendary, and
the pay is low! Let's finish this so I can find a watering hole to be loud and
obnoxious and avoid my editor!
Ah, let's start with the Title Fight! The clash of titans! The battle of . . . oh
wait, it was a one-sided massacre. The reigning champion waltzed in as he had already
spent this week's pay and his challenger? He might be spending the next few weeks
learning how to chew again. A brutal takedown, a well-placed slash, and BOOM! At
least, that is how I envisioned it happening! The fight was over before I could finish
my beer. This is the true tragedy of these short matches. Congrats again to Kirin
Ichiban! Maybe I will catch the next bout if I hydrate before it begins.
The untouchable team this turn is NBA Legends. Seriously, no one wants to touch them.
This squad must have bad breath or poor grooming habits because no one wanted to step
onto the sands with them. I do not know if it is their stellar record, fearsome
reputation, or if they send unsolicited, unsettling notes to the other warriors.
Whatever the reason, The Spire's warriors are treating them like that creepy uncle at
the family gathering. Enjoy your solitude, warriors! Fortunes change each and every
turn.
On the other end of our challenge spectrum, we have Clan Longbeard. These guys dodged
like that creepy uncle when he owed you money. Call it a strategy or self-
preservation, but you must step onto the sands at some point and fight! Or don't, I
don't care. Maybe some are just here for the social scene of the gladiator life.
Dahnar was our most challenged warrior today of the same Clan Longbeard. Too bad no
one was able to get a challenge through to him. He fought and won a random match-up
with Tibere Gracchus.
A close and a moment of begrudging respect for those who have survived The Spire long
enough to graduate. We bid farewell to Kirin Ichiban and Orlando. These warriors are
off to new adventures, bigger arenas, or a well-earned retirement where they can count
scars and regret life choices. Congrats to you both--you did it! Now, get out before
the Commission changes its mind.
