Poor Contract Bridge. Not only does he get a horrible style match up but the poor man is given a weapon his manager knows he can't use. Shame on you, Coach! You have to give poor old Contract Bridge a fighting chance against my double shields. Large ones, at that. Well, at least I taught you two skills that will help you beat me next time. The coach's warriors are so sneaky that they only teach useless skills to their opponents. That decisiveness skill will be mighty useful to a scum TP. Thanks. Looks like I will be fighting one of the good warriors from the middle way. Not sure if I like that since I prefer the low road myself. Bad Bad Basso SPY REPORT Greetings warriors! It is I, Zontani Sharp Eyes, here to bring report of the clash and bustle of the weekly TELORINTHE games. In one of the week's more notable duels, CONTRACT BRIDGE put down MELANIE OBERN, causing her to lose 11 points of recognition in the process. Although WHITEY D'EAGLE made a valiant effort, it did not suffice to topple the reign of victorious BAD BAD BASSO. Informants "close" to the city champion have told me that he never fights without pantyhose on beneath his armor. Watch out! But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades that is city TELORINTHE. I saw one fighter that warriors avoided when this week's challenge seeking began. PUNY ORC PELOTON is feared. This much I can say. Methinks more than a few here could name the guild it was that spent the better part of last week avoiding PUNY ORC PELOTON. Indeed it was OLDIES. Loose talk at the arena has reached my ears and it but confirms the knowledge that many fighters are after SAM TALL. Watch your back! A match that raised a few eyebrows at the games this week, it seems that CIRCLE K posted a challenge against the more highly recognized SAM TALL. The results, you ask? Well, the firebrand CIRCLE K was dealt death by SAM TALL. Remember warriors, this is the discipline of steel. Is not Death a warrior's foremost adviser? Warriors, may this counselor stand ready at your right hand forever! Perhaps even the strong cannot escape the vagaries of this world. This week arena veteran CIRCLE K was slain, despite a 12-6-0 record. Some say a warrior is judged by the way he bears arms. One thing is sure, better a dagger in hand then a sword on the belt! A thought before I go. Each warrior practices one style, but must not the wise manager learn the secrets of them all? More than a sharp eye must I keep, indeed a stout pair of legs must I keep as well! The endless paths of Alastari await me! Till next we meet remember - the pen is mightier than the sword, but a maul is a different story!-- Zontani Sharp Eyes DUELMASTER W L K POINTS TEAM NAME BAD BAD BASSO 58 14 4 0 99 PUNY ORC PELOTON (8) CHALLENGER CHAMPIONS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME ROID FLOYD 61 14 4 0 120 PUNY ORC PELOTON (8) SAM TALL 293 21 35 1 118 MIDDLE WAY 21 (40) CONTRACT BRIDGE 308 23 9 1 98 OLDIES (5) CHAMPIONS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME WHITEY D'EAGLE 289 9 5 0 84 NONSUCH HOUSE (39) MELANIE OBERN 324 13 14 2 82 MIDDLE WAY 21 (40) STEEL MUSE 287 8 6 0 79 NONSUCH HOUSE (39) CUSTODIAN 325 13 13 1 68 OLDIES (5) ADEPTS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME SPORT 368 7 3 0 55 OLDIES (5) PETRO SALM 337 11 14 0 54 MIDDLE WAY 21 (40) CORNELIUS 285 8 6 0 45 NONSUCH HOUSE (39) SPANISH BEEF 366 7 4 0 39 PUNY ORC PELOTON (8) ROOK 286 8 6 0 37 NONSUCH HOUSE (39) CHALLENGER INITIATES W L K POINTS TEAM NAME SILVERBACK 288 6 8 1 29 NONSUCH HOUSE (39) SKY HIGH OMERTA 383 2 1 0 28 PUNY ORC PELOTON (8) POSTAL TURNCOAT 369 4 5 1 26 PUNY ORC PELOTON (8) INITIATES W L K POINTS TEAM NAME OLOVOR PARIS 371 4 3 1 16 MIDDLE WAY 21 (40) ALTAR BOY 384 1 1 0 16 OLDIES (5) TAMARIND URLIK 370 1 6 0 9 MIDDLE WAY 21 (40) '-' denotes a warrior who did not fight this turn. Slugbait The Sandbagger at work! -- Coach How can you sandbag in a no-tourney arena? "Coach -- Did I just got 1-0 against you?! I'm quitting this game right how. It will never happen again. 9-4. -- slugbait" ...."CONTRACT BRIDGE was luckily beaten by BAD BAD BASSO in a 7 minute Title match." Yeah, sure, Sluggo! 9-5. Do you miss the game? (wink) -- Coach Roid Floyd -- I guess I just didn't have what it takes for an all-nighter. -- Contract Bridge (asleep at the table) Kudos to the Champ--Roid Floyd. -- Coach and the Oldies Rook -- Checkmate. -- Circle K Cornelius -- Me? I beat you? I hardly beat anyone. I am just a glorified janitor. I could say, I guess, that I "cleaned your clock", but it is more likely I cleaned your toilet. -- Custodian Uh, Coach. I think you missed me. I'm on your team, too. I beat Postal Turncoat and took all his vials and pills. He is a Puny Orc peleton, you know? Aren't we Oldies more like 10-5? -- Sport P.S. All I want is a bonus and a contract extension. That's enough for any college athlete, don't you think? Embezzling Scribe? Really? I prayed and prayed--even in Latin, you know, and, and I get a win embezzled anyway? A loss? I sure wish The pope had not retired. -- Altar Boy (crying big tears on his hassock) Well, from all the disfunctionals of The Oldies, allow me to say... Health. Humility. Honor. And Happy Easter. -- Coach Telorinthe -- Nonsuch House has returned to the sands. I am not sure how long the boss will provide the funds to stay, but we hope it is for quite some time. For now, time for writing ads is limited, but we shall try. But whether or not we have time to fill the newletter with words, know that we are pleased to participate in the slow no-tourney arena. -- Dimetreas, resident manager of Nonsuch House Tamarinth -- And that is how the big Ape does it. -- Silverback Circle K -- That fight was a bad matchup in so many ways. Please go away until I have a lot more experience. -- Rook Custodian -- Matchups like that are part of the problem with small arenas. I need more experience. Perhaps if I tried a quick tournament for a quick influx of FE to help me compete... oh, wait. -- Cornelius Why do they keep assassins around for us to fight, anyway? Not that I'm complaining. -- Whitey Roid Floyd -- Didn't we just DO this? -- Sam Tall Steel Muse -- Well, I was, you know, a-musing myself? -- Melanie Obern Spanish Beef -- Ole! -- Petro Salm Sky High Omerta -- And ambition, too. -- Olovor Paris Silverback -- Oh, darn. I thought you were a set of silverbacked brushes and didn't pay proper attention soon enough. That'll teach me. Maybe. -- Tamarind Ulrik P.S. Aren't you kinda tall for a dwarf?
