Still Searching
Hammer sorted through the files of deactivated stables that had been placed upon his
desk.
The veteran manager was still not fully satisfied or settled upon which arena or
arenas that he would reactivate and keep active, once he had the opportunity to see
his rusty warriors in action.
He was still searching for a stable or stables worth his time and expense to
reactivate, or create an entirely new stable in a new arena, that he deemed worth
running, after so many long years of being absent from Alastari.
Yet another arena had piqued his interest: Telorinthe. A no-tourney arena that had
long ago been abandoned by the veteran manager, as had Shadowspire arena.
Hammer hastily scanned the information on the yellowed parchment, then took a closer
look at the summary of each warrior of the deactivated stable. A faint flicker of
competitive life seemed to be awakened in a long forgotten memory, glinted in the
recesses of his eyes, as the veteran manager signed a hastily scrawled message, then
called for a rider to dispatch the message and a small bag of gold coins to the
Gladiatorial Commission in Telorinthe arena.
Then the veteran manager noticed a small stack of prospective stables in a hidden
corner of his desk, along with a yellowed notice of yet another no-tourney arena that
had opened during his absence from the Alastari arena sands.
SPY REPORT
Greetings, Warriors of TELORINTHE. Allow this humble servant Novgorodny Vir to
give you a respite from the fights in the form of this Spyreport. BAD SIGNS? Who?
FIGHT SONG is the top team these days, buddies! What's a move up by 3 you ask?
(alright, maybe you didn't ask) Cause for celebration, according to FIGHT SONG.
Practice pays for NIKE, who pummelled THRILLER, to pocket 19 points. CUTTER
certainly had a baffled expression on his face, after losing to MOTHER-IN-LAW and
losing 9 points in the process! Now I can't insult NOCTURNAL RITES, as he has
gloriously dueled to the top. Oh great new Duelmaster!!! (Stop me if I lay it on
too thick) Word has it one team in TELORINTHE is taking speech lessons to try to bore
their opponent to death. I'll bet it works.
So much to report, so little time! To quell some nasty rumors, the guys in
CHAIN GANG are not carrying any incurable diseases. No need to avoid 'em. Like a
pup with its tail between its legs, FIGHT SONG scurried away from CHAIN GANG. Oh,
the shame! If challenges were horses, THE GLUTTON could open up a fast food joint!
Is there life after death? Pragmatics (and warriors) know there is death after
life! Justice was served as MOTHER-IN-LAW fought CUTTER in bloodfeud. Well done,
BAD SIGNS! Questions are being raised about the disposing of severed body parts in
the arena. A certain tavern in TELORINTHE would I avoid!
