TEAM SPOTLIGHT
The fall down was scary. And Artemis had seen scary things. She had even let
loose a wild boar, with six-foot tusks and razor-sharp teeth. She saw in her memories
ALL the scary thingsB she had encountered, but none like the fall to the underworld.
Or maybe when the angel touched her, and pain shot through her back... No. She pushed
the childhood memory away.
Artemis viewed her surroundings and tried not to get nauseous at the sight of the
dead warriors.
"And I thought the dead tournament was bad," she murmured trying to pass
unnoticed. And, yet again, someone saw her.
"Ay! We got the living among the dead!" A golem shrieked with delight. "That's a
rare sight, hehe." It said, making its way towards her. Artemis felt for her dagger
and sighed. She must have lost it during the fall. Artemis decided to go with a good
old-fashioned punch.
"Ow! What was that for?!" The golem staggered back, blood dripping onto its
loincloth. "You punched me! And it hurt! I was greeting you!! Oh, OW." The golem shook
its head and regained its posture. "So," the golem said, blood still dripping from his
nose. "You don't LOOK like a demon." Artemis flinched and then cocked her head at him.
Demon? She had known she was part demon, but maybe not just ANYONE could enter the
underworld.
"Oh. Uh. I'm, ah." How does she explain this? 'I'm coming to collect fire! Don't
mind me!' Just straight up say it? She thought up a solution. "Animal patrol. Here to
pick up some-uh. Some..." What animals were in the underworld? Artemis tried to read
her surroundings and found an animal life form. "The name is case-sensitive. Lead me
to the cage."
The golem shrugged and crawled over to a ledge. "Your 'target' is over there.
Have fun getting it out of here."

"My feeling is that when you're managing a baseball team, you have to pick the right
people to play and then pray a lot." --- Robin Roberts
Here on planet Earth, the Major League Baseball season begins in a mere three days
from the time of my writing this Team Spot.
The quote from Robin Roberts reminds me of choosing the stats and styles of the paper
warriors that I am currently running in Telo and elsewhere!
Granted, you are handcuffed by the roll ups that are dealt you by RSI, but part of the
fun is figuring out how to add the 14 points and choosing a fighting style, especially
when you do not necessarily want to send the new replacement to the Dark Arena for
another shot, or a better shot as it were, for another replacement.
I do pray a lot in real life, or at least I have in the past, but not necessarily in
regards to my paper warriors; however, judging from the record of my stable, perhaps I
should have spent more time in the prayer department on the behalf of my stable, as
Robin Roberts stated about managing a professional baseball team here on planet Earth.
Of course, picking better warriors would have been a proper solution, but I am quite
content with the fun that I am having in Telo with this particular stable.
Got another Rookie coming to Telo, but since this is a No Tourney Arena, said Rookie
is not allowed to enter any RSI Tournaments!
Baseball is probably my most favorite sport here on planet Earth, so I am looking
forward to the 2021 Season, even though one of my Yahoo Fantasy Baseball players got
injured in Spring Training and will be out at least 5 or 6 months!
So, due to the injury, I dropped him from my fantasy baseball team, but at least he is
alive and has a chance to play baseball in September, or next season; however, when
one of my paper warriors is dropped from my stable, it is because they either died on
the Telo Arena sands, or in the Dark Arena!
Obedience Hammer was a 9-15-15-13-9-10-13 Ripper that died with a 1-5-0 record. He
never really had much of a bright future here in Telo, but I did enjoy running him,
even with a losing record, so at least he will not lose any more fights here in Telo
Arena!

SPY REPORT
Good afternoon, my sweets! Phineas has taken over duties this turn for DM 20, so
I thought I would come over and help Ori out a bit. The little dear works so hard and
rarely takes a day off, so I thought today would be the perfect time for her to enjoy
today's fights as a spectator and not a spy reporter! Let's get to the action and see
how everything played out on the sands!
It looks like we have had a very active turn from the top ranks down to the
bottom. We will start with the Duelmaster, who happened to be Maniac Mauler coming
into today's festivities. There were so many Challenger Champions, it was hard for me
to predict who might challenge or be challenged for the title fight. When all the
paperwork was submitted, Antonio Brown took his chance at glory and challenged Maniac
Mauler for the throne of Telorinthe! It was a short match with Maniac retaining the
title! Congratulations to MM, who is managed by Nemesis.
The most avoided team looks to be Conjure the Sun. I am familiar with this
manager over in Seam, so not really a shock to see him listed here. It looks as if
House of Fur avoided them the most. The most challenged warrior this turn was Conjure
the Sun's Vampire on Fire. In a great twist of irony, maybe coincidence, Conjure the
Sun's warrior fought Midnight from House of Fur. Midnight overcame VoF in a one-sided
fight. Maybe the avoiding was in vain, but who is to know with the Fates being fickle
and all that.
It looks as if a deathly spirit was over the arena on this day. There were more
than a few warriors that met their demise on the sands. Most of the dead were
underperforming or untested Rookies, but one arena veteran fought her last this day.
Lalali-Puy challenged Guilford and the overt foreshadowing should tell you how this
ended. Condolences to Lalali-Puy's guild! The other deaths came mainly through the
Dark Arena with the Darque clan sending a total of 4 to fight at night. Fishbone lost
his newest recruit, Moontide, to Agent R's newest recruit, Jabba the Bunt, in a Rookie
match-up.
Nemesis is still sitting on top of the arena with the Duelmaster and 3 style
masters, but Nomad is knocking on the door with the Chartered Recognition leader.
Scorpio is also enjoying his turn with a 4-1 record and 3 arena awards that include
Popularity Leader, This Week's Favorite, and Top Team on the Move. Overall,
Telorinthe continues to thrive and show that it is a competitive place to live and
fight!
Time for me to be going, my sweets! It is also nice to see you and to visit
little Ori, she is such a darling! I hope you enjoy your time in the arena. Like
Ori, I will encourage you to do more than just fight! Mingle a bit and go see the
sites on arena days! Food and drink are easy to find surrounding the arena, and do
not forget the regular shops that line the thoroughfares here in Telorinthe! Join us
next time and see if Maniac Mauler can hold the throne for another turn! If Ori's
records are correct, she might even get an invite next turn, assuming the Commission
thinks she is skilled enough to make it on the Isle. Come back next turn and find
out!

FOX HOUND was butchered by HIGH ELF in a crowd pleasing 1 minute Dark Arena fight.
