TEAM SPOTLIGHT
The Warm Age -- Fishbone Grills
We had never locked our doors at night; we'd had no reason to fear each other.
Even though we had killed the polewards and posted our own Center guard, even so we
had begun to feel fear; to speak of this, however, was forbidden. So that evening we
had left the dancehall laughing; had waved goodnight to our neighbors; had smiled,
gently tucking our children into bed.
A foul odor woke me! What was in the silent darkness?! I peered through slitted
eyelids: a poleward at my bedroom door! We had missed one! No time to wonder in
which forest hill cave on which island the golem had hidden! No time to wonder at the
silence of my village, of my house, of my children's room...
Deft fingers unsheathing my favorite boning knife at my side, I calmed my breathing;
focused on its arms rising silently but slowly, anticipating... the Moment! a flashing
slash up through the sheets and across its exposed throat! It gushed and gurgled its
wordless disbelief, and fell... leaving me alone.
We are all dead! I dig so many graves... and build a giant cooking fire too; the
golem is all gristle...
SPY REPORT
YAY! It is arena day and as you know, I could NOT be more excited than I am at
this moment! We had fights! We had food! We had more fights! Then we had more food!
Then more food! Then a few drinks! Then more fights! Being a spy reporter is the
most EPIC job EVER! I don't get how some of these guys and gals are so grumpy all the
time? I mean, I love them dearly, but Olaf is a grump sometimes! Oh well, let's get
to the arena action, that is why you are here isn't it?
We have a new Duelmaster this turn! I know that Maniac Mauler probably does not
want to hear that, but a two-time Champion has reason to keep his chin high! Hillary
Clinton fought Maniac Mauler this turn for the throne and was able to overcome our
former Duelmaster in a 1-minute fight. It is going to be a short reign for Hillary
though because she has been invited to the Isle of the Eye! Congratulations to Hillary
for the new titles of Duelmaster and Lord Protector! Be sure and come back next cycle
because we will crown a new champion.
On another note, we may have a few graduates next turn. There are a total of 3
warriors that could graduate next turn depending on where they land in the rankings.
There could be as many as 5 next turn, but my golem did not go far back enough for me
to have accurate counts for the two (2) Nonsuch House warriors in the Challenger
Champions. I'm looking forward to next turn because it has the potential to be . . .
. WAIT FOR IT . . . EPIC (and exciting!) !!!!!
Ironskull Orcs plummet down to 7th place after a 2-3 turn. Kame House rises to
take the top team with a 10-4-1 three turn record, just edging out Nemesis's Ferocious
Five guild. Conjure the Sun and Empire Strikes out are tied with 9-6-1 records while
Bad Signs shares a similar record sans the single kill. The most avoided team is
Conure the Sun. They were mostly avoided by Ironskull Orcs. Nothingburger is our
most challenged warrior today. 14 Day Quarantine got the call and was able to defeat
Nothingburger in 3-minutes.
Speaking of killing, we may need to have an intervention with Master Darque and
his Sorcerer Kings. First, he sends 9-4-1 Bibidee to the Dark Arena! Who does that?
Bibidee must have taken that slight personally and killed High Elf to come back from
his imminent doom! I bet it is awkward in the guild house this evening! They also
sent 2 other Rookie warriors to the Dark Arena, but those appear to have gone
according to plan. On the regular sands, we no longer have to wonder which Kestrel is
being addressed. Sorcerer Kings' warrior Oba killed Kestrel from The Dragons.
Needless to say, it was a turn soaked in blood for the Sorcerer Kings guild.
Bah, I'm getting the wrap-it-up signal from Arenamaster, or he has invented a new
dance. Whatever the case, I think this is a good place to stop for today. Come back
next time and let's get a gander at how many graduates we have! The potential is
there for quite a few, but the Fates are fickle mistresses. We will have to wait and
see how it all develops! See you then!

SUMMER FACE-TO-FACE IN CINCINNATI!

We hope you will join us at our summer FTF in Cincinnati, Ohio, July 16-18, 2021. It
will be held at the Embassy Suites Cincinnati Rivercenter on the banks of the Ohio
River (actually in Covington, Kentucky (866-344-7548). Room rates are $139.00 per
night for kings, $179 for doubles, which includes full cooked breakfast, complimentary
manager's reception, free parking and free high speed internet. There's a fitness
center, jacuzzi, and pool. The rooms are blocked--the code is "RS1" (note that's RS
one not RSI).
