TEAM SPOTLIGHT
So it begins. I expand my footprint as a manager into Telorinthe. The arena will
never be the same again! I see only one respectful team in the rankings. And
painfully, it is Master Darque's team. Probably preying on his children, though.
I am General Bashur. It will be an interesting experiment, running in a no
tourney arena. The rules state that to avoid a bloodfeud, you must sit your entire
team. Fair enough. I know how to do that. I hope I sit my team next turn!!!
My warriors have exactly one goal. Kill their opponent. Put them 6 feet under.
Make it so they'll never fight again! I look forward to causing lots of pain and
suffering for you all!
This is my second team. Some of you may know me from my DM 33 team. Here, I'll
be running the SUPER BRASH BROS.

"How long have I been out?" Nemesis blinked her eyes open, and tried to sit up.
The young manager immediately regretted the decision, and Queen Artemis' strong hands
pushed her back gently to the ground. "It feels like a very long time."
Queen Artemis grimaced. "Not long, although Channel Master told me once that time
flows differently on every plane. So even though it's only been a couple of hours
here, it could be several months back home."
Nemesis' mind slowly turned over the facts in her mind, even as her body
complained against the physical exertion of sitting up. She looked around the dark
cave, hearing water running in the distance, and it suddenly occurred to her this
wasn't where she had been.
"Where are we?" she demanded. "And where is Channel Master?"
DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Finally, I am back on my throne. It is not my first time. I'd have to send the
archivists to go dig up my first, second and probably fifth or more times on the
throne. I sat here for quite a few turns earlier, before Nomad forced the whole House
to take an extended vacation. There was a stretch there where the arena was small --
that in itself was a bad sign, and that squad undoubtedly remembers that time. Small
numbers may have had something to do with my string of titles, but a title is a title.
And here I sit again. You just couldn't keep me away, even when the arena got big
again. Multiple times the scum hanging out here at the top have thought to scum me,
but it really doesn't work. Borys found that out, although I admit that was on my
challenge. But, hey, he held my throne.
So who am I that has held the throne often and again in this arena? I am the brickish
Piker. 11(+1)-20(+2)-10-9-21-5-11 Yes, some would make those numbers into a TP, but
why waste them when they could become a glorious and unexpected Piker? Nomad has
graduated several similar builds. It isn't the normal build, but when you want
something that looks like a fortified tower (Rook, get it??) but can still swing back,
why not go with the best style in the biz? I think the biggest surprise was that
Borys managed to teach me 4 skills. How'd you do that? That got me the third rating
and a sendoff before hitting the 50 fight mark. I was surprised and I think the whole
team was as well.
I'm now the 4th of the original members of the House to graduate, joining Steel Muse,
Whitey d' Eagle and Cornelius. The fifth did not make it. But Grogan has filled his
shoes admirably so far. Perhaps he will make it five. I'd like to find a way to pass
my throne to a teamtroll on my way out, but I'm not sure how well that will work.
Still, I have options for challenges. The arena has grown a lot in the last couple of
years. Twenty teams? Such a grand arena, unspoiled by those drawn to the tourney
life's lust for a quick award, deserves such a gathering!

SPY REPORT
It's me, The Unknown Spymaster here with my bag to give you the news on last
week's fights. Say good-bye to THAT 80'S TEAM, as they are pushed from the coveted
top team spot by the BAD SIGNS stable. It was a tough week for THAT 80'S TEAM, to
drop 6 places in the rankings. Coming up with a solid 4-1-0 outing, HOUSE OF FUR has
advanced 6 places in the rankings. It looks like the guys(?) at KAME HOUSE had a
good week as they went 4-1-2 to put them in 11th place. I guess steroids help!
Don't these new hotshots make you sick (or, if they fought you, hurt)? RHYMES WITH
ASH, on their very first turn, went 4-1-0. Hey everybody, watch out for GUILFORD,
who flew up 55 points in the rankings after mashing VICIOUS VENOM like a melon. Keep
your eye on this beast. And falling like a basher in the top ten was 6AM ALARM, who
dropped 13 points after a disappointing (to say the least) bout with BLINKY ME
EYEPOKE. Going for the gusto and coming up with aught but bloody knuckles was
SCORPIO'S LIKES:'s ICE MAN, who was turned away from the Duelmastership by ROOK. Can
you believe they are paying me 10 gold to deliver this stuff?
But enough of that bunch, let's get on to the wimps who like to avoid battle!
And hey, kiddies, those of you who didn't avoid IRONSKULL ORCS, please raise you
hand. Wow. Does TELORINTHE really have that many liars? Okay, so I may not be
funny, but catch MEAL TEAM 6's act in the arena. Those acrobats seem to be fairly
deft at running from IRONSKULL ORCS. Well just about everybody wants a piece of
STOPPA SQUEAL, who was this week's most challenged warrior. Getting lots of flowers
from sympathetic fans was DOOMSCROLL, who was successfully challenged by HEAT STROKE
who had a mere 26 points more than DOOMSCROLL. Here is a definition of happiness:
DOOMSCROLL overcame HEAT STROKE to go from 7 to 30 recognition points.
Death is kind of like a new puppy: he's always around wanting to play. (Ha
Zontani, how's that for a wise saying?). Carrion Bird Cinematic Humor: VICIOUS
VENOM II: THE REMATCH. On a sad note, VICIOUS VENOM found an early retirement at
the hands of GUILFORD this week. I wonder what THE FEROCIOUS FIVE will be doing
about it? Knowing when to use the right tactics at the proper time is a very
important step on the road to Duelmaster.
I think I had better cut this one short. It's been nice chatting to those of
you whom I have not offended yet. Okay, so I may not be the world's best comedian,

As I observe my pathetic Orcs stumbling around on the sands trying to trick their
opponents into letting them win a fight, now and then, I can't help but notice the
warrior rankings. From the Duelmaster all the way down through the adepts, there is
nary an impressive winning percentage. I've given this some thought and have come to
the conclusion that an optimist would proclaim this arena as very competitive with an
equal abundance of bloodshed for all. However, I prefer to think you all suck at
fighting or the Arenamaster is accepting bribes from all managers and as he laughs all
the way to the bank at his great deceit AND my orcs are the unluckiest team I've ever
seen. I am sure you all would agree and need to start showing more respect to the orcs
you are scheduled to fight. It's the correct and proper thing to do. Translate respect
as taking a dive. -- Boss Orc (for the humor challenged amongst you, get a clue. LOL)
Guilford -- These days, I have to use all the sneaky challenges I can to eke out a
win, even if that means disguising myself in such a manner as to make you think I'm
