"Flight to Fight"
What does she want from me?! Joymend looked from Sageherd out across the dark water to
the biggest isle in Hillwood. He wiggled his toes in the wet sand and shook his head
absently away from the Great Fire glowing in the mist around the hilltop in the
distance.
She's right though; he's aged alright, but what kind of a sage beats his own children
and pits them against each other on the sand?! It wasn't right. Sageherd had always
been a clever girl, and now she was a wise lady.
No, he had gone to his last Great Fire. He sucked his teeth and grimaced as he turned
to her, and she handed him his old shield. They locked eyes for a moment, and then
turned toward their own fire they had built for themselves there on the empty beach
under the new moon. He laid his shield to rest in the fire and the sparks flew up as
the flames grew around the worn wood. No more. It had disgusted him, but he had kept
on. Back onto the sand for another mess. They'd exchanged vows though; she'd promised
to change, too.
They would be hunted. Sageherd had arranged safe haven with The Green and his lady,
friends of hers from Telorinthe. They made ready, and then left the sand, the fire,
his shield's embers, the cult of the Aged Sage, and the whole mess.
SPY REPORT
I'm reading a compelling story about a dystopian future where magic no longer exists.
People are forced to survive against the harshness of nature and unscrupulous people
without the benefit of magic. People begin to develop devices that replace magic, but
it is all a bit frightening. It might be more of a horror story, I can't imagine life
without magic! Oh well, enough about my extracurricular activities, you came here to
read about all of Telorinthe's game day happenings! Take heart, magic is alive and
well in Alastari, as are these wonderful gladiatorial games!
Toshi is on the throne once again. It feels a bit repetitive to keep going over this
portion of the daily fights. Toshi fights Borys, Borys loses to Toshi, and then we do
it all again next turn. At least, that has been the last 3 turns for us in
Telorinthe. To shake things up a bit, Toshi did not fight Borys today. I repeat!
Toshi did not face Borys today in the title match. Instead, Toshi fought another
Total Parry. Burger King is a former style master in Telorinthe, so certainly
deserving of a shot at the throne. Unfortunately, Toshi has built his success upon
dismantling Total Parrys in our arena. We once again congratulate Toshi Arito on
securing the throne of Telorinthe! I take this time to make sure Floyd knows he needs
to write a DM column if he is going to hold the throne for an extended period of time.
I ask Nemesis and Dragon Master to "urge" him to write something for us next turn!

The most avoided team today is Kame House. They were mostly avoided by the Ironskull
Orcs guild. Charming Kitten gets the honor of being the most challenged warrior for
turn 191. Wormspine looked down and saw this cute, cuddly, charming cat and thought,
let's try to kill it! Wormspine beat Charming Kitten in a 4-minute bout. No
graduations this turn, so we will keep waiting for those invitations to arrive for our
warriors of Telorinthe.
The tops ranks stayed the same this week with Kame House and The Dragons keeping the
top 2 spots for another cycle. It is the other 3 rankings that appear to be in
constant flux! Scorpio's team shot up 4 places to capture 3rd, while Sorcerer Kings
moved 7 for 4th. Rhymes with Ash also made a significant climb from 10th to 5th.
Time for me to sign off. Come back in 28 days to find out if Toshi can keep the
throne once again. I have started putting all the data together for a Telorinthe Hall
of Fame, like those in Seam and Shadowspire, and it is looking good for Toshi to join
those exalted ranks. Also, apologies to Boss Orc for last turns naming faux pas. I
read lots of reports and I obviously mixed up your Seam Orcs with your Telorinthe
Orcs. Don't even get me started on the other ones that spell it as O-R-K-S! See you
